“All around, the front staff makes a big difference. Devinn's orientation, the workout and the technology. The workout is easy to follow. I got real luck, because my first instructor was Kalli who has great energy! I had one workout where my rower didn't capture my data. That was a big bummer and I hope they can fix that. I think long term if the data didn't capture, I would reduce my score to a 8 or 7. Overall, this location is well-run, clean and a great vibe. I was hesitant with all the monitors, but after orientation with Devinn, I was comfortable.”

“Really nice community where the staff knows you by name after a few visits, and newcomers are very welcome. Many classes with varied workout designs that are changed monthly. Considering the typical cost in the area for gym memberships, very reasonable pricing with no contracts, especially considering the community feel. Lots of safety measures and during COVID shutdowns, went so far as to build an outdoor gym to keep things safe. Wall that opens to keep a semi-outdoors feel for when needed as a COVID safety measure, and excellent ventilation system. Fresh towels, lockers, shower. Not a meat market the way some gyms are. Unique recharge and recovery options like cryo and red light room.”

Like the place overall.Pluses:— Clean.— Friendly, helpful staff (not there Sundays though).— Pretty uncrowded.— Easy to get in and out.— Cheaper than Mountain View YMCA (but more expensive than big gym chains).— Nice ‘regular ppl’ vibe (aka seems mostly roid-bro and bimbo free).— They actually have Airex pads (comfy).— Open 24-7 (‘cept a couple of hours on Friday evenings).Minuses:— Small size means they won’t have everything.— Specifically, no shoulder press machine is a BIG miss. There’s actually room for it.— Could really use a small dedicated stretching area with mirrors. Some ppl are doing physical therapy.— They have clocks, but bigger and/or digital ones are much more useful. You want to be able to easily tell time between sets (rest periods) from anywhere.Overall, can’t ask for much better from a small gym. You may eventually outgrow it, but it’s quite good for what it is. ?”

“I just joined F45 and LOVE it! I have tried all workouts like Barrys, Soul Cycle, Orange Theory, been a member of Equinox and Crunch and more and this just fits exactly what I need! I thrive in a group atmosphere and the community here is amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I also love that it's a phenomenal workout at only 45 minutes! “I am relatively new to working out - 17 weeks of consistent exercise and still going strong! Let's just say I am on the large size, and I don't always feel comfortable dealing with fitness people, but this has not been the case at all with FIT. I am working remotely with their trainer Jeff. With a relatively small investment I have all of the equipment I need to transform my family room into a workout space each morning. I work out through face time with 3 other women, each of whom are in much better shape than I am. Jeff tailors a program for each of us, so that we are doing similar exercises at the same time fitting each of our needs. He has been particularly good at helping me find ways to continue to work out despite some knee issues. He is amazingly responsive. What I'm enjoying most is the balance in the workouts between strength training and cardio. By the end of every workout I really feel a sense of accomplishment and have worked up a good sweat. I feel that great feeling of having worked hard and accomplished something, but I don't feel so exhausted the rest of the day that my day is shot. I feel revved up rather than beaten down. If your looking for a way to workout from your home, I would give FIT a call. I find the cost reasonable. You don't need your own home gym just some weights, an adjustable weight kettle ball and a mat will get you started. I highly recommend.”

“I have probably tried every gym in town and this is the first one that has stuck… for several years now! It just has that perfect balance of challenging you while keeping it fun. An hour seriously flies by there and it always includes some great jams, some laughs, some cheering, sweating and friendly competition. The format of 2 trainers for every small group works perfectly for me. It provides just the right amount of attention to make me feel safe and confident in trying new challenging exercises and it keeps me accountable (i.e. makes it hard to cheat ?). All the trainers are fab but my favs are Corey (the owner), Cisco & Evan. Don’t join if you want showers, spa, a pool etc. Do join if you want a place where everyone knows your name, keeps track of your progress and makes you feel like they give a damn. Oh and if you want to get stronger, leaner, faster, hotter ?”

“I LOVE the xformer machine (it's by far my favorite) and there's only a few studios out here that use it. MPX was the closest studio to me so I tried them out first, and I'm so happy I did! I love their class format and their instructors! Granted, I've only taken it with one instructor so far but she's incredibly talented - she's patient, kind, mindful of everyone's differences (in terms of level/comfort/strength), explains proper form and how to engage different muscles (e.g., if you want to make an exercise more quad dominant vs glutes), and never forgets if there's someone in class that has a limitation and/or needs a modification due to an injury. I've tried a few other studios around here and the only thing they have over this one is better packages ($savings). If you can afford to splurge a little, choose this studio (sign up now!). I promise you won't regret it.”

“Possibly the best fish and chips you'll ever have. Fresh off the boat sea bass lightly battered with Panko and not at all greasy. The fries were just as good. The sea bass has a sweetness to it that's really fantastic and melts in your mouth. Unlike denser cod or halibut it barely requires chewing. The food is 5 stars. Gave 4 because the service could have been better. The last time we were here was 3 years ago and it's what brought us back. Try it. You won't be disappointed. Guaranteed. ?”

“I have been training at Opex San Juan for almost a year and a half. During a recent work/vacation trip to San Francisco, I s for in the atea anound Opex Kura. Melissa promptly answered all my questions and welcomed me to visit her gym. All the equipment and machines are in excellent conditions and neatly organized. Furthermore, the floor coaches, Melissa and Josh, were astounding…those kind of trainers that not only advise you on the adequate position for your exercises, but further explain why, when and where you should move, push, extend, and feel the pressure. Definitely, having other Opex gyms focused on individualized training (not a crossfit box) while traveling is another benefit for joining this community. Thanks Melissa and Josh!!!”

I visited as a walk-in last week and loved HGX so much that I came back for a second class... while on vacation, no less. “I've been working out here 4x a week for the last month from around 9-11am. It's basically always nearly empty, which I love. They have all of the barbells, bumper plates, training plates, many squat racks and lifting benches and all of the machines I'd consider using. If you like to lift it's basically perfect. The environment is more chill and personal than a. Corporate gym but less pressure than a personal training only gym. I have been doing the semi private training which is ideal for helping me get back into lifting after a 10 year break. I didn't know what semi private training is; it's not a class, it just means they get you all set up and check in form and help with workout design and check in on you several times during your workout and see if you have questions and are using good form but they aren't hovering over you every minute of the workout (which I did not like from personal training in the past.) there are personal trainers and their clients from time to time and they seem to have fun but that's not really my thing. I expect that in 6 months or so I will have a solid foundation and will transition to a regular gym membership here. It's great to have that flexibility.”

“I am 38 and have always hated the idea of working out. I also have suffered from severe anxiety my whole life. I decided to do the 6 week challenge and I can't believe I'm saying this but within the first week it changed my life. “I have been taking classes from Kelly (HIIT, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, Spin...etc) for years. I am the type that needs the class to be fun, filled with good music, and throw in a few laughs. Her classes check all the boxes, and the group/community there is a huge bonus. She is great at encouraging you to push yourselves, but the classes allow you the flexibility to dial up or down the intensity based on your comfort level or how you feel that day ;). I highly recommend giving this place a try. I find fitness is important for the health of your mind and body. I leave my classes here feeling like I have achieved both.”

“I've never done a rowing class before and took a class with a friend of mine who is a member. It was a great workout. Staff were friendly, provided a tour of facility and walked me through everything I needed to know as a newbie. It's a smaller, boutique gym so there aren't showers but they have clean and spacious bathrooms where you can change. They went over membership pricing and bulk/individual class costs without being too pushy.”
