“...so im still thinking about it a few days later which is always a good sign. walked in just to grab some cash and ended up spending way longer than planned just messing around with the machine. the store itself is your typical corner spot but the location works perfectly if you need to move quickly between things.

its clean and simple and the machine worked without any stupid errors which honestly doesnt always happen with these things. the guy at the counter was helpful too without hovering which i appreciated. glad i stopped here on a whim honestly i was expecting way more hassle than what i got.”

“This is my preferred Chase location in Bakersfield. I have made about 100 visits for business banking in the past 10 months. The staff and security are friendly and efficient. I miss the drive-up (no contact) service, but am happy to be greeted by so many happy faces when I go inside.”

“I want to sincerely thank Priscilla Hernandez at Golden 1 Credit Union in Bakersfield for her outstanding service. Throughout my experience, I received conflicting information from different representatives, which made the process confusing and frustrating at times.
Priscilla stepped in and completely turned things around. She was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in clarifying everything for me. Even when others at the same branch gave me different answers, she remained consistent, professional, and took the time to ensure I fully understood each step.
Her support, follow-through, and willingness to go the extra mile truly stood out. It’s rare to find someone who brings that level of care and clarity to their work. I’m very grateful for her help and highly recommend working with Priscilla if you have the opportunity. She’s a true asset to Golden 1!”

“I've been to this location twice for more complex transactions as we are buying a new home. Each time I made an appointment and had to pleasure of working with Liliana. She helped me with multiple transactions: closing a certificate of deposit, moving funds to a savings account, applying a promotional interest rate, and wiring funds. She handled all those transactions perfectly! I've had bad experiences with Wells Fargo in my previous hometown of Garden Grove.... Completely the opposite here! I was treated with the utmost respect and the staff here are total professionals. I appreciate your service! Thanks for helping make my new home purchase easier!”

“I''m 71 and remember, before online services, standing in line and doing the usual thing. Nothing particular good or bad about those experiences stand out. Banks are banks. On December 11, 2023 I was let out of Lerdo jail after getting hauled in for Drunk in Public. Stay with me. I had been taken from my home late the night before in Tehachapi by ambulance on report by my wife I had suffered a head injury in a trip and fall at home. I had been drinking some, celebrating the fourth night of Hannukah. EMTs transported me in sweats and a thin t-shirt. I did not have my wallet or a phone. My wife provided the EMTs with my driver's license and medical insurance information. I had never ridden in the back of an ambulance and I was frightened during the trip and the blow to my head when I got to Emergency. I was goofing with the EMTs while I waited for about an hour to been seen by medical staff. Apparently the staff figured me for just being drunk and forgot about the injury. They later stuck me in a dark emergency room on a table and it became clear they were going to have me sleep off my "drunk". My wife of 52 years requires my care for basic needs. I decided to leave. The staff wouldn't have it; I was their prisoner apparently. An argument ensued and I was then asked to leave which I did. I didn't realize how cold it was that night since I'd been indoors that entire Sunday. There I was trying to make it the mile home in bare feet with no coat. I got a few hundred yards and local police pulled up. Was I glad to see them! I couldn't feel my feet in the near-freezing temperature of midnight. They promptly arrested me for being drunk in public and disorderly conduct at the hospital. The hospital called police on me "for my own good". Yeah, I suppose they would know that putting me out with shoes in that weather wasn't exactly for an old guys with a head injury's good. I spent that night and until midday on the 11th in Lerdo, about fifty miles from home. It was the first time I'd ever been jailed. It was uncomfortable, annoying and I couldn't sleep. It's jail. The jail staff was professional and more or less accommodating. I was provided rubber slippers and I stumbled out to get picked up by some sort of shuttle to deliver me to a regional bus station in downtown Bakersfield. I don't know Bakersfield, and I sure didn't know where Lerdo was from home. I was surprised to learn I had $61 in cash in my sweats when I got processed in at Lerdo. I figured I'd get that back when I got sprung. The kept that cash and gave me a check on discharge. What the heck was I going to do with a check with no ID and no phone to call my wife? I asked about at the bus place and learned there was a Wells Fargo on 22nd Street, which meant nothing to me in directional help but I soon saw the bank sign when I walked the couple of blocks. I'm not a Yelp reviewer. I've posted a couple of times in all these years and usually to say something good. I looked homeless when I got into the bank. A wonderful and kind young lady name Carolina listened to my story when I present my jail check. My wife and I are longtime Wells Fargo customers and at least one account is stuffed with a lot of money. Carolina and another wonderful lady named Jessica worked hard to figure out how to get that jail check cash. I mean, who the heck am I trying to dun someone's account with no ID? I was so embarassed for being a public miscreant, apparently, and I'm still embarassed by it. Jail for goodness sake. What a panic to get home, eat, shower and sleep and be with my wife. (She got a little sleep the night before and in the morning to call the hospital and they told her I wasn't there.) Carolina and Jessica made it happen. They had keen ideas about how to protect a customer's account and help me at the same time. They did it! They helped me phone my wife and she was going to come get me. She hasn't driven in four years but made it down the sketchy highway”

“First time at this location. It's very nice, and clean, small, but the tellers were very friendly, welcoming and helpful to me. I got bottle water on the way in and candy on the way out. I was actually the only customer in there the entire time I was there so I got in and out in great time. I asked if it was always so quiet, the teller(I know this word is old, do we still use this word for them or are we calling them something else??!!?!?...) said that it gets a little busy but not like the bigger branch locations. I think it's because of the location.”

“I'm glad this location went back to being an Albertsons. They tried to convert it to I think an Aldi's a while back and then something else, but that was short lived. Some stores just need to be managed better and left alone. Many of us prefer going to stores such as this one where we can still interact with cashiers, butchers, courtesy clerks and produce people. Not everything has to be a self check out. This location has always offered a good variety of items, always kept clean, good value and the people working have always provided excellent customer service.”

“I haven't had a need to use any branch locations yet but I want to tell about my recent experience with their nationwide call center. All of our bank accounts were recently compromised, requiring my wife and I to close EVERYTHING and reopen new accounts. This included savings, checking, debit cards, the whole ball of wax. This is a daunting task to untie automatic payments from the old accounts and reattach them to new accounts. In the aftermath, we somehow managed to miss setting up the new automatic payments to US Bank for our RV loan. When we realized our oversight, we called to see what could be done and they worked out a payment plan to get us caught up (one payment behind) and chose not to report our late payment to the credit reporting agencies. The gentleman who helped us was kind and understanding of our plight and worked to do what he could to get us back on track without our credit being trashed in the process.”
