Pet Care

Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital
1980 41st Ave, CapitolaAbsolutely wonderful. My cat broke her tooth a week or so ago, I was scheduled with a different vet that suddenly wasn’t able to help her. I called Santa Cruz Vet Hospital and they were able to get my cat in same day for an exam, and schedule an extraction procedure the following day. My cat was SO comfortable being in this office, the vet who saw her was amazing and gave my cat the space and patience to get comfortable before being picked up. The front office and back office techs are wonderful as well! I would 100% recommend this vet office to anybody and everybody. Thank you everyone at this office for being so helpful and kind :)
Edit: I forgot to add that this clinic is extremely affordable in terms of veterinary care. The estimate that i received from them was considerably lower for the exact same care from other clinics in the area, i wish i could give more than 5 stars for everything!

Capitola Veterinary Hospital
1220 H, 41st Ave, CapitolaMy first experience bringing my senior dog to Capitola Veterinary Hospital was great! The staff was very friendly, and took time getting info about my pet. Dr. Wirga was wonderful. Knowledgeable, informative and easy to talk to. I will continue to use their practice.

Zizzo's Coffeehouse (Capitola, CA)
3555 Clares St Ste. PP, CapitolaAs a tea drinker, it’s fun to see what handcrafted flavorings they combine to make seasonal tea drinks. My coffee drinking acquaintances like their coffee, too. Their baked goods are vegan, which makes for a nice change. Updated from previous review on 2026-02-10

Sweet Pea's Cafe and Catering
2121 41st Ave STE 107, CapitolaI was looking for a quick bite since I work near by. The two gentleman behind the counter were very friendly. I went with the breakfast burrito, it was so good! Full of flavor and I got it with bacon. It had fresh onion and tomatoes and potatoes. It was a bit on the small side but definitely delicious, will definitely be going back to try more

Sante Adairius Rustic Ales
103 Kennedy Dr, CapitolaBest beer in Santa Cruz County and that's saying a lot given the competition, but the variety, inventiveness and quality is unsurpassed. The team is friendly and helpful. This is my kind of microbrewery location, smells like wort and hops when the are brewing, outdoor and indoor seating and a variety of food pop-ups and trucks. Dog friendly, kid friendly and people friendly.

Pizza My Heart
209 Esplanade, CapitolaI went twice and had two different slices.
The first was pepperoni and it was fantastic! Very very tasty! Served hot and I added some hot sauce.
Next slice I had was one with pepperoni, mushrooms, garlic and olives (can’t remember all ingredients). Sadly this one did not hit the spot. There was no special taste of any one ingredient, nothing stood out.
My husband had the Hawaiian slice and said it was also very good.
I bought two of their tshirts, with the slices.
You can get a slice plus a tshirt for $9! A slice alone is like $6.50. The tshirts come in black, blue and white and with a few designs. Thick quality material, too!

Pete's Capitola
231 Esplanade #102, CapitolaWe went to dinner at Pete’s for the first time last night and it was incredible! I loved the way all of the dishes are presented, very thoughtful and pretty. Mike, our server, was very attentive and we also enjoyed chatting with the owner, Sarah.
The ahi appetizer was superb, focaccia freshly baked and delicious, our mains and desserts were yummy as well!
It’s perfect for a date night! The lychee martinis were outstanding the best I’ve had since I was in Hawaii!

Capitola Tap House
401 Capitola Ave, CapitolaThe little gem is a rare find tucked away under the trestle in Capitola. With many local brews, and ciders, they have something for almost everyone. The also have a great selection of Kombucha, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. You can even get your favorite brew in a sweet to-go vessel. I tried several brews before I found one I liked. It is self pour, charges by the ounce and gave a convenient wash station to cleanse your glass. It is dog friendly and has a great vibe, to go with the great selection. 10/10 Do it again.

Margaritaville
231 Esplanade, CapitolaBeautiful ambiance restaurant right by the water! The guacamole was absolutely DIVINE and I loved the shrimp enchiladas too. The servers were all so attentive and friendly. Prices definitely a little bit high but it makes sense given the location and the serving sizes more than make up for it.
