Dr. Maria Kuty Housecall Veterinarian
1146 Soquel Ave #2931, Santa CruzDr. Kuty is not just a vet. She's an angel. When our little doggie suddenly went into crisis and we knew it was time, Dr. Kuty was able to come out within a couple of hours. She was so kind and patient with us. She talked us through everything. Her sensitivity and empathy were notable...she looked so sad, almost as though she felt the pain right along with us.
Her services didn't stop when our baby had stopped breathing. She patiently waited and let our other dog say goodbye to her. She let us walk out to the car with her, carrying Chica in a little bed. She gave us all hugs.
Later that day, I received a lovely text from Dr. Kuty. The next day, I received a sweet email. And the day after that, she sent a beautiful card in the mail.
Losing a dog is difficult. Dr. Kuty lessened that stress by helping our doggie die in the comfort of her home with her people and her brother around her.
Thank you so much, Dr. Kuty, for helping make Chica's last day as peaceful as possible. We will never forget you.

Adobe Equine Veterinary Services, Inc.
1600 Soquel Dr, Santa CruzMy only regret is not finding these vets sooner! I was so thankful when I found Dr. Maddie and all of the professionalism and expertise she brought to the drawing board for my horses. She helped us work through an allergy that has turned my horse around! She’s kind, very easy to get along with, and so willing to help. Even better, on top of all of this is that they are affordable! Their front office staff is generous and always looking to help any way that they can. They have overnighted things for me to get them to us as soon as possible. Thank you all for all you do at Adobe Equine!

Gustin - Van Every Mobile Veterinary Medicine
226 Calcita Dr, Santa CruzAs a first-time cat parent navigating the learning curve with my kitten, Ozzy, Marc and Christine were the perfect fit for us. They both showed incredible patience and kindness, especially toward me as I learned the ins and outs of kitten care. Ozzy suffers from motion sickness, making car rides challenging, but Marc and Christine provided thoughtful solutions and medication to ease his symptoms. They made each visit easy and stress-free, helping with shots and all aspects of Ozzy’s medical care.
It’s clear that Marc and Christine genuinely love animals and understand the concerns of pet parents, which made us feel completely at ease. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and knowledgeable veterinary professionals.

Westside Animal Hospital
411 Laurel St, Santa CruzWow. Restored my faith in humanity. Went in on an emergency basis with a very, very sick lab. Dr Shuman and a tech met us in the parking lot, helped the dog out of the car - though she was a smelly mess - and whisked her to safety, care and health. I got regular calls, answers to questions and complete confidence that she was properly diagnosed and on the road to full recovery. Went in very stressed, exhausted and worried, was met with compassion and competence. Dog is back to frisky and well. Pricing was fair and wholly transparent. Vet for life.

The Velvet Coat
7 Lyle Way, Santa CruzWe've been taking our beloved French Bulldog, Ricky Bobby, to Shannon at The Velvet Coat for about a year now. He goes a couple days a week to daycare. We drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. We had a couple timing requests and Shannon was able to accommodate us. Ricky Bobby LOVES going to daycare! He's happy when we drop him off and he's happy when we pick him up. Due to being a Frenchie, he needs a little extra care. He likes to play until he drops! And that isn't always the best for him. We know that Shannon calms him down when it is needed, and we really appreciate that! For boarding we typically try to leave him with a family member. When we're unable to do that, the only other call is The Velvet Coat. We know that he is going to be safe and well cared for and completely loved. That means everything when you're on vacation! I can actually relax knowing my precious doggy is well taken care of.

Woof work dog training
2966 El Rancho Dr, Santa CruzI can't say enough good things about our experience with Emily! We recently rescued a two-year-old pup with some reactivity and separation anxiety. From day one, Emily has been an absolute game-changer for both our dog and us. She took the time to truly understand his behavior and tailor a plan for him. We've done both private training and boarding with her, and every time our dog comes back calmer, more confident, and better equipped to handle the world. The boarding experience is amazing--knowing he's not only cared for but also actively learning and thriving while we're away gives us total peace of mind. Her communication is fantastic, she sends updates, and we always feel like our dog is in the best hands. If you're dealing with a reactive dog or just want a trainer who really knows what they're doing and truly cares, this is the place. We're so grateful we found her!

Marianne's Ice Cream
1020 Ocean St, Santa CruzThis review is for Brenda specifically monologue entry 34: today I went to Marianne ice cream and expected to pay eight dollars for minimal amounts of ice cream. But Brenda called my number 52 By the way, proceeded to give me some of the best sample sizes. I’ve ever seen which to be fair. I was obnoxious in how many I asked for. Nevertheless, the quality never receded. Then when it came to scoop the actual ice cream, I feared that they might have shrunk, but Brenda used her perfect, forearms to scoop the most endearing amount of ice cream into a cup. I was proud and excited of the cheer girth of what this cone weighed! I am grateful and serendipitous over my experience today 5/5 stars

The line is often quite long but they are super fast (you get the food in like 5min max), so it rarely is a wait. Cash-only but there is an ATM inside.
