Pet Care

PetVet Vaccination Clinic
580 Auto Center Dr, WatsonvilleThe experience was okay, could be better organized, should have two lines one for large dogs and one for small, mixing the two together doesn’t always work out. Also, the scheduling is confusing of where in line are you supposed to be, especially when they text a group of people to all come at once and get in line. Well I waited 2 hours for the text then 4 people after my number inline rushed to get in the line first.

Schwarzmann Thomas DVM
188 Las Colinas Dr, WatsonvilleDr. Tom Schwarzmann provided euthanasia for my 15 year old husky, Zen. I had fear around the process, and just hearing his kind and easeful voice on the phone reassured me. When he arrived at my home, he took it step by step, honoring the overwhelm that was coming over me in waves. He created a sweet connection with Zen right away and that put us all at ease. The process was gentle and empowering. I could never have imagined a sweeter, more connected and peaceful way to say goodbye to Zen. I highly recommend Dr. Tom Schwarzmann for his in-home veterinary visits and end of life care, euthanasia. His emotional intelligence, accuracy with injections both subcutaneous and intravenous, and his strong attributes of patience and kindness made the entire process flow in such a way that it felt like it clearly was the most natural and compassionate thing we could do. Forever in gratitude for his contribution to making this landmark moment so beautiful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Mt Madonna Veterinary Clinic
WatsonvilleI never expected to have a traditional Chinese Medicinal vet, but the McKays are neighbors who are highly recommended. They have been our dog' s vet for 3 years now, and they are fantastic! They are very thorough and systematic in their approach to medicine, and carefully explain benefits and drawbacks of holistic AND more conventional approaches. My dog has had recurrent UTIs and is now on a Chinese herb that has kept her from needing antibiotics for a year or so. In the meantime, they have given preventative medicine on a case by case basis, weighing the need before over prescribing heartworm and flea and tick meds. Gwen and George are consummate professionals who are kind, honest, and masterful in their work. Plus you will probably get a few bad puns if George can help it!

740 E Lake Ave, WatsonvilleI love East Lake! Everyone is so friendly, kind, knowledgeable, professional, and very approachable. I absolutely love Dr. Rachel Miller, you can tell she enjoys what she's doing and giving good, quality care is important. I have brought 5 different pets in with various needs and she handles each visit so well. The office staff is absolutely delightful and the waiting room is a very warm and pleasant place to be. I just recently changed vets and I am so much happier with East Lake's care!

Bingo Dog Training
854 San Miguel Canyon Rd, WatsonvilleWe have had so much success with Bingo Dog Training. Cynthia spent a long time listening to all of our dog’s behaviors and really analysed everything I told her and worked out the best way to train him. He’s a completely different dog now! We love him even more than we used to! He used to have a real problem with guarding behavior and any time he would get something like trash, kids toys, pencils, erasers he would guard it and be very aggressive and try to bite us if we tried to take it off him. After the training he now gives up the forbidden object immediately. He also had issues with lunging at cars in the road, and those have been sorted, with barking in the backyard and that has gotten a lot better, and emergency recall training has been essential to our dog’s safety. Thank you Cynthia! I cannot recommend her enough.

Monterey Bay Dog Training - Watsonville Training Classes
2601 E Lake Ave, WatsonvilleI have been training my dog here with several different trainers (Luanne, Pam, Dorothy, Susan) since she was a puppy, almost 8 years ago. We have progressed through several different level of classes in obedience and agility and she is such a happy dog. I constantly get compliments on how well behaved my dog is. I also go back about 20 years to another dog who was very shy and fearful. We completed Beginning Obedience, and, even though he wasn't naturally talented, I had him almost 15 years and he never forgot heeling on leash or recall -- the two most important things your dog can do, in my opinion.

CAFÉCTO
200 Westridge Dr, WatsonvilleWe stopped here on our way to Monterey Bay and found it completely by chance, and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the Cajeta coffee and the Breakfast Burrito. The coffee was excellent, and the breakfast burrito was delicious, especially with the salsa. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and a great start to our day. If you’re passing through the area, this spot is definitely worth a stop.

Anatum Winery
Falcon View Terrace, WatsonvilleAnatum Wines is the kind of place that reminds you why small wineries hit different. The views are unreal, the ambiance is easy and inviting, and the lack of Belinda makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years.
The wine? Smooth, thoughtful, and honestly some of the best we’ve had in California. Great company, great pours, and a setting that feels like a deep breath. You can take the boy out of Tennessee, but you can’t take the country out of him, even in California, this place felt like home.

Santa Cruz Cider Company
65 Hangar Way, WatsonvilleThis is hands down the best cider I've ever had. It's just right on the dry-sweet scale, veering towards the dry end. Their varieties are unique and they have seasonal favorites as well as specialty ciders that only have a short run. I find them satisfying and easy on my body. The owners are truly good humans with the kindest hearts. They host a lot of fundraisers here for local community charities and causes. They really care about their local and greater communities, and put actions behind their values. I've found the people I've met and the whole vibe to be uplifting, warm, playful, and easy going. I really recommend not missing out on this gift of a bar, business and community!

Corralitos Brewing Company
2536 Freedom Blvd, WatsonvilleI own Tacos El Jerry, and I've been bringing my food truck to Corralitos Brewery at least once a week for the past couple of years. The owners, Natalia and Luke, are great to work with--super easygoing, communicative, and always on top of things. The vibe here has always been solid, and I even find myself sticking around to enjoy a beer when I get the chance. My go-to is The Blonde, but they've got a great selection of craft beers for every taste. What really stands out is how well this place is run. It's always clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. Whether you're stopping by for a drink, grabbing food from a truck, or just hanging out with friends, Corralitos Brewery is one of the best spots in the area. It's got that perfect mix of a laid-back atmosphere with a strong sense of community, making it a go-to place on the outskirts of Watsonville. If you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out!

Sushi QU
952 E Lake Ave, WatsonvilleYou can't tell from the front but inside Sushi QU you will find delicious rolls and a beautiful little garden in the back. The Hamachi Roll is fabulous with the fish and lemon and avocado. Very nice. The Rainbow Roll was also very delicious. Some Japanese beers and great service made this place our new favorite sushi place. I hear they have specials on Wednesdays. So we will go back to try that and get some pics of the dinning room.

948 E Lake Ave, WatsonvilleThis is my go-to place for coffee, consistently great coffee with a nice selection of additional flavor options. The shop is warm and cozy, they offer pastries and breakfast sandwiches/burritos to order. There are many books to read while you drink your coffee, and overall I'd recommend this as a must stop if you enjoy coffee, as they source quality beans.
