Petsmart is closer to my house and I am happy to drive right past them on my way to lemo’s just because the experience is so much better with their lovely employees and knowing that I am supporting a smaller business. It may be a bit more expensive than the big box chains but it is totally worth it.

Today we had a German hefe and a mango goze and a taste of the peach lager. Hefe was as really flavorful and not overdone with banana esters. Nice beer!

I am told that the Shrimp Tacos were very good with just the right portions. I wanted to try something different and chose the Chilli Bowl; nothing special, good flavors but too mild in my opinion. I prefer a chilli that's a little spicy. This was very very mild....but good basic chilli for the general public.

Here's the breakdown on a couple dishes: Bacon wrapped dates: delicious and a good portion. Teddy's Tropical Ceviche: plenty of fish and tortilla chips but I tossed the giant pile of red onions that came on top. Personally I would have preferred red peppers instead like the way the Mac and cheese came, but that's just me and I'm sure they would have kept the onions off if I'd asked but I didn't know it had them. But it was really delicious nonetheless. Lobster Mac and cheese: is Langostino Lobster? No. Are they using langostinos as lobster? Yes. Would I have ordered langostino mac and cheese? Yes. Am I annoyed that they are calling langostino Mac and cheese lobster Mac and cheese? Absolutely. Was the langostino Mac and cheese good? It was excellent. Lots of langostino and delicious cheese blend. Tommy's margarita: great! Loved it. Classic margarita! Rincon margarita: smoky and gingery. Over gingered for my taste, need a balance so we can taste the other ingredients too. Mai Tai: good but kind of the same problem; all pineapple. Service was friendly, good natured and efficient. Had to switch booths as one table was super tippy. It's a smallish bar and dining area but a good sized patio. It's very casual.

Check out the photo of a kid meal. Our Grand Daughter loves their Pad Thai. Enjoy Carpinteria and have a nice dinner as well!

1049 Casitas Pass Rd, CarpinteriaWe had 8 bicycle riders today from Ventura to Carpenteria. We eat at Hugo's occasionally on a breakfast bicycle ride from Ventura. Service is always excellent and the food was really prepared well today. Combined with a nice day it was a good place to stop for breakfast on our ride.
