Cashy's Playpen
1292 Coast Village Rd, Santa BarbaraCashy’s Playpen is simply the best. We stop in every time we visit Montecito for the most high-end selections of toys, leashes, beds, nibbles, and so much more. It is like a luxury boutique for dogs, offering unique, high-quality, and adorable items that we literally cannot find anywhere else. Our dogs now only have Cashy’s items (stuffed toys, leashes/collars/tags are favorites) because we have become accustomed to the very best in doggy accoutrements! From the moment we walk into Cashy’s and are greeted by adorable Cashy himself, inviting us to play “tug” with him and his beach ball, and the friendly and very knowledgeable proprietress Caroline, we feel we’ve walked into a delightful doggy playland and have a hard time not scooping up most everything in sight. I can’t recommend Cashy‘s Playpen more highly. Do visit! I promise your dogs will thank you for it!

A family owned pet store, not a big box chain. Has the small hometown feeling of a pet store that knows pets and cares about your pets. Has a great selection of traditional dog and cat products from food, toys, etc., has a selection of freshwater fish as well with nice clean tanks. They carry feeder insects for your reptiles as well. Pretty much have everything that you need feed and care for your pet. A great pet store near Cliff Drive in santa barbara.

Petco
3985 State Street, Santa BarbaraI can’t say enough great things about the grooming team at Petco Santa Barbara, especially Sarah💕
After a disappointing grooming experience elsewhere, Sarah completely exceeded our expectations. She was patient, detail oriented, and incredibly gentle with our dog Luna-Tuna. I even stayed to watch part of the session and was amazed by her skill and calm approach and Luna was completely relaxed and clearly loved her\.
We chose the full grooming package for around $120, and it was an outstanding value. It included bathing, grooming, nail trimming, and teeth cleaning, and Luna looked absolutely beautiful afterwards.
The staff was friendly and professional, and the location in Petco made drop\-off and pickup very easy.
Sarah truly brought out Luna’s personality, and we are so grateful. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Sarah and her yeam to anyone looking for a caring, talented groomer!!

101 W Mission St, Santa BarbaraDr Sellers is THE BEST! I have taken my cats to see her for 16 years. She is Always caring, compassionate, wise, and a great listener. For a short period when she was injured, I checked out 3 other cat vets in Santa Barbara, only to realize how truly marvelous Dr Sellers is and feel ecstatic when she returned! Rates are fair and reasonable. She even came out to my house to euthanize one of my cats no charge, and only charged $50 to euthanize another in-office! A dedicated exceptional doctor! Dr. Christine Sellers, DVM
101 W Mission St, Santa BarbaraMr. Wheezy Cat approved!! I've had a lot of vets over the years and lived in many states and this is by far my favorite vet. Prices are really reasonable compared to other vet's I've been to and have liked way less and its an added bonus that everyone here is super awesome, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I've been taking my cat Mr. Wheezy Cat here since we moved back into town from Santa Ynez about 2 years ago and Dr. Kelsey Grunewald always makes Wheezy feel comfortable and calm during his visits and exams. Recently he had to have a tooth extracted, and everyone was so helpful and calming before the surgery. He got sent home with some pain meds just incase but just two days later is pain free and back outside rolling in dirt and playing in flower beds living his best kitty life! I am so thankful for you all and the awesome work you do in helping our fur/feather babies stay happy and healthy. Thank you all so much!!!

Harmon Kellye DVM
138 W Ortega St, Santa BarbaraI just had to have my very elderly cat euthanized. Abbie (one of the techs) and Dr. Harmon were beyond sympathetic and caring. They were absolutely wonderful and made a horrible agonizing decision easier to make. A few days later, his 'aquamains' were ready for me to pick up. (That means they do the cremation in water instead of fire.) They were nicely boxed, and put inside an elegant drawstring bag, and included a certificate of aquamation for my cat and a wooden pendant with his pawprint. I would highly recommend this vet clinic. It's small and homey, not big and impersonal.

San Roque Pet Hospital
3034 State St, Santa BarbaraMy dog stopped eating. I was able to get a same day appointment. The staff were all very kind and empathetic. The cost for everything was explained and I was consulted and given the pricing before any tests were performed. All my questions were answered without judgement or hesitation. I was given a copy of the test results without having to ask for them.
The only thing that I would have them improve is the time it took for the appointment, 2 hours. This was my first visit and it was Dec 26th so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and chalking the time it took to having a reduced number of staff because of the holiday. I’m hoping that is the case bc I really do like this practice but if all my appointments are going to take an exceptionally long time then I’ll look elsewhere. As I am a newbie to Santa Barbara, I have nothing to compare it to for the area. Compared to where we used to live, South Redondo, pricing is higher.

Pet Sitting & Training

Follow The Leader K9
333 Palm Ave, Santa BarbaraIf you're looking for a dog trainer or boarder in Santa Barbara, Follow the Leader is the absolute best and will completely change how you interact with your dog! We first met Eric when we were searching for a trainer who worked with foster dogs. Eric immediately understood our foster and helped us understand all of the behaviors that we had been naively reinforcing. After seeing the incredible results that we had with our foster (who was adopted shortly after Eric fully trained him!), we signed our dog, Roscoe, up for training and boarding with Eric. We had worked with two other trainers in Santa Barbara before to varying degrees of success, but Roscoe remained anxious, unable to handle change, difficult to manage on leash, and reactive to motorcycles and buses. We had resigned ourselves to building a routine around these behaviors, but Eric showed us why this wasn't helping anyone and how we could better communicate with Roscoe to have the fully trained dog we had only dreamed of. Roscoe is now calm around distractions and off-leash trained, and we understand how to communicate with him so that he understands our expectations. Our lives are so much calmer, quieter, and easier, all thanks to the amazing FTL crew. We also now have a trustworthy and loving place to send Roscoe when we travel and know that he'll come back with in the right mindset. The magic that happens with FTL is undeniable and will make you question why it took you so long to start training.

Cat House Hotel
1922 De La Vina St, Santa BarbaraThe Cat House Hotel was absolutely wonderful with my senior cat. From the moment she arrived, it was clear how attentive and compassionate the staff are. They took amazing care of her, carefully monitoring her hydration levels, making sure she was eating, and paying close attention to everything that helped her feel comfortable—including the setup of her room.
They handled all of her medical needs with great care, including administering her medications and subcutaneous fluids, which gave me so much peace of mind. Malone and Zoe were truly exceptional. When they learned that my cat prefers to drink from a cup, they went above and beyond by holding her water cup for her throughout the day. That level of patience and kindness is rare and meant the world to me.
I cannot thank the team at The Cat House Hotel enough for the outstanding care they gave my cat.

Sniff Squad Dog Training
624 W Carrillo St, Santa BarbaraTodd is the best... He is so good with dogs, and with people too (which is half of the equation, right?). He empowered my 76-year-old aunt to handle a (pretty crazy) 90+ lb dog safely. Then when my aunt passed away, he kindly offered to give the new owner a lesson to bring them up to speed on his training. Completely decent human being, and the training was reasonable and so worth every penny. I will look no further for training or boarding needs in the future. Thank you Todd! ??

Camp Canine Santa Barbara
803 E Montecito St, Santa BarbaraI have been bringing my dogs here for grooming and boarding for the last couple years. I have to say they really do go above and beyond. I brought in my dogs the other they to be groomed, one of them is a senior dog who has bad hips and some skin growths which aren't easy to work with when it comes to grooming a husky. Instead of just rushing along they informed me that they wanted to take their time with her to give her extra care and I will say they did a fantastic job. They really care for the animals and I highly recommend to bring your dog here for your boarding and Grooming needs.

DOGGY BOOT CAMP-Santa Barbara
3616 Santa Maria Ln, Santa BarbaraWe have had about 6 shepherds and malinois who we trained but we did not know how to handle Ella. She had been at the shelter for 18 months and she was super sweet but incredibly reactive barking and growling and lunging at people that came into our yard and home.. Which is extra scary with a dog that is so big and so fast. Joe helped us understand what was driving her behavior and helped us change it This wasn’t theoretical or at his location with Ella. This was with us in real situations so that she learned and we learned Joe was also available and proactive in helping us between sessions and really cared about the outcome. We greatly appreciate his help in making Ella the great dog she can be and in making our house a much calmer place for us, the mailman, the fedex guy etc ?

K-Nine Solutions Dog Training
733 Carpinteria St, Santa BarbaraI adopted a lovable, energetic Vizsla and we needed help setting boundaries in an office environment and establishing voice control in off-leash scenarios. A friend insisted we try K-Nine Solutions after great results with his two German Shepards.
In addition to teaching Rocky new behaviors, the trainers spent significant time showing me enforcement strategies. I especially enjoyed our training sessions walking through the neighborhood and encountering everyday distractions.
Our experience with the trainers and the entire team was warm, effective, and rewarding. I feel like we are part of the K-Nine Solutions family and I am grateful for such capable support.
Rocky maintains his enthusiastic nature when greeting clients but now wiggles intensely while keeping four paws on the floor. The perfect balance! On the farm, his recall is nearly instantaneous and we are having fun working together on building new habits. His kennel is gone because I can put him in a place command anywhere now. Much appreciated.

Saint Bibiana
17 W Ortega St, Santa BarbaraI anticipated that my trip to Santa Barbara would be highlighted by the beaches and ambiance of the city but I was wildly mistaken upon entering St. Bibiana. I entered this establishment with very few expectations as I simply just wanted a bite to eat but I left with non-quantifiable delight. I was met with who I presume to be the owner, Gabe, who hosted my family and I with a warm smile and a brief description of their story. He recommended two of their specialty pizzas--the Lemon Mushroom and the Figgy Piggy--and I gave them both a shot along with a side of the garlic knots. Little did I know, I was going to be having the best meal of my trip and two of the best, if not the best, pizzas I have ever eaten in my lifetime. Their combinations may seem peculiar but they are finely crafted to perform the Waltz on the dance floor that are your tastebuds. If it wasn't enough that we were served a delectable meal, Gabe graciously sent us a slice of another specialty (limited) pizza called the peach ricotta and again brought us to awe. We thank everyone in that establishment for making our day and a fair chunk of our trip. To Gabe, thank you extra for your generosity and hospitality.

Rodeo Room
231 W Montecito St, Santa BarbaraI went for their Sunday/Monday omakase and it was a wonderful experience!
The atmosphere was dim and moody, but bright enough for me to see, my eyes do not do well in very dim places, the vibes were excellent. To see 'Howls moving castle' playing made me feel like I was in a safe space. The omakase was very intimate but also warm and welcoming because of the staff.
The omakase itself was a dream, my only wish was that I had double the serving of fish. Everything on the menu was spectacular and cared for by the chef. This experience has made me so grateful, I will definitely be returning to the Rodeo Room for a drink, a bite, or even the omakase again!

Kin Bakeshop
199 South Turnpike Road Ste 103, Santa BarbaraWe made a weekend trip from Miami to Santa Barbara mostly just to visit Kin lol. I had seen them on socials and reddit and I'm a sucker for great food and an even better experience. Kin is such a special place. Yes, the line is long but it is oh so worth it. We literally visited every day, twice a day over the long weekend and tried almost every drink and baked treat on the menu LOL. Can't go wrong with anything. Everyday I had a new favorite, it's THAT GOOD. The coconut cloud matcha, and pandan matcha are the best I've ever had. The cookie butter cream top is also stellar. The donuts speak for themselves, but trust me, the flavors taste just as good as they sound reading them on a menu. So thankful we got to try Kin and thank you a million times over to the staff and the amazing owner. I don't know how they do it but they manage to still be warm and friendly even with how insanely busy they are non-stop. For anyone complaining about the lines or prices, this is prob not your vibe. Those of us who get it, 'get it.' I really hope to be able to come back and visit in the future. I wish sooooo much success for this team and hope Kin sticks around and expands (hopefully to Miami lol)
