Pet Stores & Supplies

Pet Food Express
2661 Blanding Ave, AlamedaThe best place in the Bay for food, toys, treats, whenever you need for your pet. I also use their self-service bath, which is included in their buy 3 get 1 free deal, and it's so much easier on your back than a bathtub. Plus, they support animal shelters and rescues all over the Bay Area. Great products and I just love this company too.

Pet Grooming

Drummond’s Pet Grooming
887 A Island Dr, AlamedaNick takes great care of my dog. I’ve been surprised several times by how good a value his shop is - whether that’s due to the service costing less than I expected, or including more than I expected for the price.

Marina Village Veterinary
943 Marina Village Pkwy, AlamedaWe were so happy and pleasantly surprised with this amazing Veterinarian. Our vet told us that there was nothing more he could do for our 16-year-old Havanese. The pleasant experience we had and the herbs that they prescribed that were specific to our dogs needs give us hope that we can keep our little one healthier and happier until the end of his life Ashley was incredible. She was able to determine what Oscar needed with ease. The care was thorough and detailed. Although this vet Is an hour from our home, we will definitely use them again.

Doggy Doggy at Kitshouse
2058 San Jose Ave, AlamedaMy dog Chewy (a Yorkie) has been coming here every day for a few years. I work long hours away from home, and it gives me joy to know he’s living a great life during the day. He gets cuddles, walks, attention, and he gets to explore Kit’s beautiful garden. SIGNAL Coffee Roasters
1536 Webster St, AlamedaA gem of a cafe on Webster in Alameda. Signal roasts its own coffee and offers a nice variety of coffee and tea drinks. Everything is good and they have a quality selection of light bites too - sweet and savory items, hot and cold. James and everyone else we’ve met there is always so hospitable. Swing by whenever you can!

doodlecakes
647 Central Ave, AlamedaThis place is truly a gem. I discovered it through a Google search. I needed a birthday cake but didn't want to be limited to one kind. The solution was a 12 flavor variety selection of these adorable and super delicious mini cupcakes. They are all beautifully crafted from the frosting to the bottom. Six of them are vegan and gluten free but I defy anyone to differentiate between those and the six traditionally made flavors. The variety 12 pack is always available and you can get the full size versions of any one of them as well of course. You can also order ahead a custom 12 pack. These cupcakes are going to be my go-to choice anytime I need a dessert. I'm so glad I found Doodlecakes. This enterprising small business owner is so friendly and as sweet as her confections.

Mosley's Cafe
2099 Grand St, AlamedaWe had such a peaceful and wonderful breakfast at Mosley’s Cafe while celebrating our anniversary. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing, and it was the perfect place for a quiet morning together.
One of our favorite parts was sitting by the water and watching people practicing rowing on the bay — it was calming and beautiful to watch while enjoying our meal. A lovely hidden gem for breakfast and a relaxing start to the day!

Boathouse
2030 Clement Ave, AlamedaI really like this place. I always feel welcomed and it's a great place to chill out and have a drink. No muss, no fuss deal. The place can get crowded on a good night and also be lively in the daytime at lunch. Pool table, maybe some days, and good music creates a positive fun vibe. Also, It's a puppy palace! Dogs welcome, keep them close/on leash and be respectful, people love to see them and interact. Take a friend, go alone, whichever it is, I hope you enjoy. Appetizer like food is prepared and served until 9 or 10pm, not sure which one it is.

Wild Ginger
1239 Park St, Alameda⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wild Ginger is hands down one of the most flavorful meals we’ve had in a long time. Every dish was packed with bold, authentic flavors.
It was our first time trying biang biang noodles, and we were blown away by the texture of the hand-stretched noodles. The standout dish, however, was the Spicy Cumin Lamb. Absolutely incredible. Tender, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor.
If you’re in Alameda and love flavorful Chinese cuisine, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Humble Sea Brewing Co. | Alameda Point
2350 Saratoga St #164, AlamedaI think this is a really easy going brewery, in a cool neighborhood, with good beer and regularly update their menu. They often do collabs with other breweries. They have even opened other locations. Their food trucks don’t seem to be popular. Benches outside can benefit from some shade. There a tiny dog enclosure close by.

Island Cat Resources and Adoption
AlamedaThis is such a wonderful organization. Penni, the adoption coordinator, was extremely responsive and helpful with setting up a visit. Unfortunately the cat I was going to visit ended up getting adopted by another family but the foster person, Merry, listened closely to what I was looking for and introduced me to a number of different cats in her care. The cat that Penni suggested ended up choosing me and that settled the matter! That was two years ago and it's easily one of the best things I've ever done.Note: Cats are cared for by fosters which means they tend to be better socialized and receive much more individual attention. This also means there is not a single shelter location, hence the lack of address! The adoption process begins on their website with an application. If you pass the initial screening, the coordinator will set up an appointment and give you the address to meet the cat at the foster home. Please do not let the negative reviews about the address deter you. This is an established organization with 30 years of experience and their process prioritizes the wellbeing of their cats!
