Pet Care

Colin Chaves, DVM
30303 CA-20, Fort BraggMy dog now looks forward to going to vet check-ups. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I found Dr. Chaves to be very straight-forward and informative. I felt like I learned more about my pet in his office compared to past vet experiences. I look forward to the visits, under good circumstances, of course.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

David's Restaurant
163 Boatyard Dr, Fort BraggNow this is a great breakfast place! It was packed when we got there, but they are efficient getting tables cleaned and people seated. The vibe in there is cool with art on the walls. The locals that came in were known by the owner by name. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and the gravy was top notch! The potatoes are perfectly cooked, although they could be a little more seasoned. My wife got the veggie omelette, which had an abundance of vegetables. One of the best veggie omelettes I’ve seen in a while. My daughter's Minte Cristo was also fantastic. A plus was the fact that they had French roast or regular coffee available as well. This is how you run a restaurant!

Noyo Fish Company
32440 N Harbor Dr, Fort BraggBaja Fish Tacos were excellent with crispy hot fish and well balanced heat in the salsa and sauce. The onion rings were hot and crispy crunchy with a great flavor and texture and the batter didn’t fall off or lose grip on the onions. Definitely recommend. A sea lion also made an appearance.

A Frame Expresso
1080 S Main St, Fort BraggI go to this little place in the Drive-Thru to get their vanilla shakes which has real pieces of little tiny vanilla in it I guess. Cold and creamy and vanilla I always get it with no whip cream it's about $6 usually for my birthday or in the summertime. You can't miss this place. They're pretty nice here. Probably one of the best milkshakes you can get in this town.
I did have one of their burritos and I didn't really like it. Just didn't have any flavor it was kind of plain. Needed some hot sauce or something.

190 E Elm St, Fort BraggNot much of a beer fan but this beer seemed particularly bitter. According to my son it all comes down to the Brewer.
The guy who was running the counter was super friendly and was pretty occupied watching some kind of game on the TV.
A friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Mendocino Coast Humane Society
Google maps, 19691 Summers Ln, Fort BraggI've been to our local shelter more than a few times for different reasons.
I'm hoping to find a pup close to my age, (I'm 70 + yrs)
My last 4 legged was my girl pup, Maggie.
Unfortunately, she passed from a tumor in her R/forever.
I have always enjoyed the personnel working there.
And that's why I'm looking at our shelter, before going anywhere else.
