Fog Eater Cafe
45104 Main St, MendocinoWhat a delightful experience. We rolled into town late without a dinner reservation. We were lucky enough to grab a spot at the bar. The food was spectacular. The owners were there, lovely and funny. Drinks were creative and delicious. We wish we could box them up and bring them to our home town!

Café Beaujolais
961 Ukiah St, MendocinoA+ pizza at The Brickery. What a great little spot. Outdoor patio was very cool, scenic and comfortable. Ate there twice and had both vegan pizzas (Pesto Sauce and Tomato Sauce). Both have the option for mild or spicy. I opted for spicy. They come with ample greens and basil on top as well as peppers, onions and other assorted vegetables cooked on top. Sauce was fresh and flavorful and crust was awesome. Real works of art. Can't recommend this spot highly enough. So good I came back the next day for dinner.

The Brickery
961 Ukiah St, MendocinoThe pizza is a thin Napolitan pizza-like dough but with very Californian toppings, rustic dough and refreshing pairings. There are smash burgers on the menu Wed-Thu.
The best part of the occasion, though, is a truly lovely garden where one eats on tables spread over the landscape. The surroundings create a memorable experience.

Luna Trattoria
955 Ukiah St, MendocinoLuna Trattoria was our last night in Mendocino, ending our vacation on a happy note. Our server Alessio made us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout. The portions were hearty (enough to take home leftovers) and the bill was reasonable. We ordered calamari, minestrone and caprese salad to start followed by chicken Parm and four different pasta dishes as our mains. Thank you for a nice evening out!

Dick's Place
45070 Main St, MendocinoI always feel weird going into a dive and ordering my go-to dirty martini. And after a few upscale restaurants messing one up, this little bar made a perfect martini. It's a great bar for a low key night in a sleepy town.
I want to edit: now that I'm done my west coast trip: Dicks made the best dirty martini in my entire trip, including high end CA bars and Portland/Seattle bars
I want to edit again to restate: I still think about how this tiny dive in a sleepy seaside town made the best martini sometimes... 2yrs later.

Mendocino Cafe
10451 Lansing St, MendocinoTucked away in a charming spot, Mendocino Cafe offers a dining experience that feels both cozy and elevated. It’s the kind of place where you want to settle in, enjoy the surroundings, and anticipate a meal prepared with genuine care. From the moment you arrive, there is a distinct sense of quality and attention to detail that sets the stage for a truly memorable visit.
I started my meal with their warm spinach salad with chicken, and it was an absolute delight. It is rare to find a salad that feels this substantial, but this dish was incredibly rich with veggies, making every bite feel fresh, healthy, and deeply satisfying. The chicken was cooked to perfection, complementing the warmth of the greens in a way that made for a wonderful, balanced start to the meal.
The real highlight, however, was the clam chowder. It is easy to see why it has earned its reputation; this was truly award-winning quality. It offered a flavor profile that was very unique compared to standard chowders, providing a depth of taste that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere. It was clearly prepared with a distinctive twist that makes it an absolute must-try for any seafood lover visiting the area.
While the food did take a little time to come out of the kitchen, the wait was absolutely worth it. When you prioritize culinary quality and flavor in every single dish, a slightly slower pace is a small trade-off for such a delicious result. If you are looking for a place where the effort shines through on the plate, I highly recommend stopping by Mendocino Cafe.
