Kibbles 'n Gifts
80 Cabrillo Hwy N B, Half Moon BayThis is a great store. Friendly staff. Good selection of high quality dog food and treats. Plus it is not a large chain store - it is nice to shop local/small when possible.
Also, if they don't have what you need, they can special order items as well.

VCA Half Moon Bay Animal Hospital
645 Correas St, Half Moon BayI just got home from an unplanned vet visit and I am so happy to have tried VCA HMB. I felt the staff and vet were genuine, informed and professional. They have easy booking online which is how I scheduled . Compassionate communication and reasonable pricing. (Which I have not had in the past but felt I needed to tolerate) I left feeling calm about our dogs needs, they explained options. Thank you!!! We will be moving all our pet care to you!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Jettywave Distillery
155 Broadway, Half Moon BayMy husband and I hosted our rehearsal dinner for 60+ guests at Jettywave and we are so happy that we did. The general manager (Kimberlee) was super responsive in leading up to and on the day of the event.
The space was perfect: indoor/outdoor flow with a reserved firepit area that kept everyone (especially our grandparents and nephews) warm as the evening cooled down. The cocktails (my favorite was the “One Wet Nob”) offered great flavor variety so all our guests found something they loved, and our foodie family complimented the salmon specifically.
Excellent quality at a solid price compared to other nearby venues. Highly recommend and will be returning!

Cafe Capistrano
523 Church St, Half Moon BayIf you visit Half Moon Bay, don’t forget to stop by Cafe Capistrano for a taste you shouldn’t miss.
I highly recommend the Cochinita Pibil it’s incredibly flavorful, with tender, slow cooked pork wrapped in fresh handmade tortillas. Everything tastes fresh and perfectly balanced, giving you that authentic Mexican homemade style.
One thing you definitely shouldn’t skip is the house made sauce. It really elevates the dish and brings out a deeper, richer flavor that makes everything taste even better. However, if you don’t handle spicy food well, you might want to be careful, as it can be quite strong.
The restaurant is located on the corner of Miramontes and Church St, right across from the school, just about two blocks from Main Street heading toward the ocean very easy to find.

Dad's Luncheonette
225 Cabrillo Highway South at, Kelly Ave, Half Moon BayEverything I ate was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with love. The staff were all incredibly nice too. One of those places where you can tell the people working truly care about sharing good food with people. I had the mushroom sandwich, potato chips, soup-of-the-day (peach gazpacho), and the pretzel bread pudding. Highly recommend it all

Johnny’s Half Moon Bay
547 Main St, Half Moon BayI've been to this location twice now (although I just heard they opened a new spot in my area, in San Mateo).
The food here is solid and servings sizes are fairly large! So far the only thing I didn't like were the potatoes served with the short rib benny. They are cooked very well (crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside). By virtue of the type of potatoes it's not very well seasoned, maybe some cheese would improve it ? (Who am I kidding, cheese would def improve it!) Otherwise everything else is 5 stars !
Service is always friendly and I haven't had to wait for a table (although I've always visited on a Friday morning so I guessing weekends would be busier).
Can't wait to try their new location.

Old Princeton Landing Public House and Grill
460 Capistrano Rd, Half Moon BayHad an absolutely fantastic afternoon at Old Princeton Landing on a random Thursday in Half Moon Bay.
The weather was perfect when we arrived, and from the moment we walked in, everyone—staff and patrons alike—was incredibly welcoming. The bar itself is great, with a full liquor selection, an impressive rum lineup, and a thoughtfully curated canned beverage selection.
I was treating my parents to a relaxing afternoon, so we grabbed a round of SUNBOY Spiked Coconut Waters (Mango, Passion Fruit, and Pineapple) and headed out to the backyard. As the fog started rolling in, we gathered around one of the fire pits and settled in. There were families and kids enjoying the space, creating a lively atmosphere without it ever feeling chaotic or overwhelming.
For food, we ordered the Hawaiian plate, Brussels sprouts, and grilled fish tacos from the grill side of the property. Everything was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for.
One thing that really stood out was how special the whole place feels. It's relaxed and unpretentious, but there's so much character everywhere you look. The outdoor space is fantastic, and the stage looks like an incredible venue for live music. We left already planning a return trip for a show.
Old Princeton Landing perfectly captures what makes Half Moon Bay special. Great people, great food, great drinks, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. A must-visit if you're anywhere near the coast.
