“The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great and there's a free parking lot for customers. Great selection of different foods/snacks for dogs/cars. There's also a wash area for dogs (you have to pay) which is clean, with lots of towels and even some free treats. The price is reasonable. You get time to shampoo, rinse and dry your dog. The water eventually gets to be lukewarm so tolerable for dogs but the air to dry them is cold.”

“Best pet supply store in the Bay Area. Between this location and the Telegraph one, they usually have excellent selection. The staff is super helpful. Recently, they only had one bag of my usual kibble in the store. I was hoping to get more and the staff special ordered my request at no extra charge and it was available for pick up within a week. The usual buy 3 get 1 free on everything is worth the money. If you’re looking for suggestions, the staff is usually very helpful, often suggesting value items over the most expensive option, which I appreciate a lot. And the treat for my pup at the checkout counter is always appreciated.”

“This is our local spot for hay, treats, and pellets for our Ziggy Smalls! We stopped purchasing from Amazon and SPS, due to poor quality of 2nd cut Timothy...Ziggy was basically using it as his litter vs eating it. purchasing local here, supports his mission and ensures a safe haven for rabbit and Guinea pig owners so we feel good about coming here. We adore James and he's always helpful and kind when we visit. He was able to give advice when Ziggy had too much "wet poop", even after changing his daily amount of fresh greens. Thank you James! “First time visit for my 11yr old dogs twin sister after her recent escape and resulting mysterious swollen neck lump (rec: hot compress for 2 weeks 2xday with followup visit if no improvement. Ps she had a large mouth tumor removed last month elsewhere so maybe related?). The vet tech and Dr. Kim were very attentive, detailed and kind and answered my 1thousand questions. ...aaand they didnt try to oversell or push anything extra we didnt need. I asked for all the vaccines for a stay at home pup (IF she stays at home ha) and they recommended the ones we should do for her lifestyle (I learned that the kennel cough vaccine I've been giving her brother dog isnt super necessary if he's an at home dog and not in confined spaces with other dogs) I did have to advocate though for doing more than they recommended (heart worm test/shot), which Im fine with as an experienced dog mom. Highly recommend especially with the coupon for first exam free.”

“I went to Your Basic Bird to get a pair of budgies after my beloved one died. It's a lovely big store full of bird supplies. I asked for males, specifically to avoid female territorial aggression. The employee that helped me insisted the pair he showed me were males. I was pretty sure they were females but let him talk me out of my first impression. Turned out they are females, now that they're mature. I love them anyway, though it's more challenging having a pair of females, but if someone needs a specific sex be sure to trust your gut and knowledge over the employee recommendations because at least one of them doesn't know enough to be accurate. The birds I got are lovely though. They are very healthy, hand-raised so were pretty tame when we got them. They just argue a lot. I would definitely shop there again for future budgies, but will trust my own expertise rather than let myself be talked out of what I knew to be true.”
“Dog Mah is an absolute dream ?. My dog is a standard Poodle and they do the most complete and spectacular job. He did not have one hair on his nose. His whole body was perfectly cut. “I have to say that this location has the most helpful people working there. I was asked if I needed help, but not rushed or hovered over while I was looking around. The lady at the check out even helped me verify a specific property about one of the dog toys I was thinking of buying. Thanks to her help, I didn't buy that one because my dog would not have liked it, but the one I did but is already a favorite. I didn't get the lady's name so I have to say to the woman that was working at the checkout counter between 2 and 2:30pm on Jan 29th, thank you so much for your help. Great shopping experience.”
