Green Leaf has a wide range of products that strike a nice balance between affordability and high quality. You can tell everything is given a lot of thought and care, with lots of organic, natural and local options without feeling pretentious or overpriced.
The staff are warm and friendly and open to suggestions for new products, and they also have treats for your dog : ) it is always a very pleasant experience shopping there. I am very grateful to have an alternative to some of the more corporate grocery options close by- I would highly recommend!”

Expect to spend some time in the beer aisle. The bakery looked pretty awesome but I can't confirm the taste.”

“Calling all herbalists, natural/organic, and bulk nuts, seeds, and teas lovers. The Food Mill is a literal heaven!! Wanna buy organic black beans, Medjool dates, gogi berries, butterscotch chips or dried lavender IN BULK? Come through! Everybody who works there is so helpful and welcoming. Their store-made crunchy peanut butter is also my kryptonite. Parking could use some work, but I usually have no problem snagging street parking. I am a stan.”
“I truly love this place. It is STUNNINGLY beautiful and always well stocked. For a place its size, it has such a large variety of goods. Also, I absolutely love the amount of local Bay Area brands they carry! The owners are always so helpful and they even sell their own homemade salsas (the green salsa is my absolute favorite)! 10/10 would recommend.”

“This is the best place to buy freshly cut flowers....they last a very long long time and inexpensive compared to Safeway (no bueno) or Whole Foods (about $5 more and usually all open). I love lilies and they last over 10 days to 2 weeks! Enjoy!”
“I recently visited the grocery outlet in Richmond, and I was pleasantly surprised by their very low prices and a large variety of various products. Also when I went to pay, I got a cashier name Diana it was not only very friendly, but extremely efficient and extremely quick She thanked me very politely and warmly when we were done, and she was a real breath of fresh air. I had a wonderful experience due to her professionalism and friendliness”

“This is my favorite Trader Joe's. I like tge way the store is played out, I like the workers, love the location - prices are the same at all TJ's, however, next door is Safeway, and we all know how high they can be.
My only complaint is they keep stop providing some products that I just loved - like now they only provide their frozen pie crust during the Oct - Jan season. Anyone that bakes, bakes all year round ?”

I do my Grocery at Berkeley most of the times. I went to El-Cerrito branch yesterday, I do have back pain so it hard to pick items a lot of times from the floor or shelves. I went to get a cart after I found I need one and I two items fall on the floor while I was trying pick it up, one of the staff Amazing person she came helped me with pick up items She was nice friendly I forget to see her name or asked her [American African tall lady ] at costumers services front desk she was great Thank you ? !”

From the exterior they looked friendly and offer fresh produce in an area that used to be heavily industrial with limited options in healthier foods. I would totally support if I’m back in the area! “I have been here a few times mostly for a coffee and pastry. I have had their babka pastry, chocolate croissant and the yummy bacon and cheese pastry.
What inspired me to write this review though is the service I received today. I called the store to ask if they had forbidden rice. The owner went and looked for me and they had it. But it gets better. As I was there I realized I needed some mirin for a dinner I was to prepare tonight. He said he didn’t have any in the shelves. Then he said he could help me anyway. He went to the back at the sandwich service counter and had a big bottle of it for the food he prepares. He asked me how much I needed and handed me a paper bowl of mirin!! He, the owner, went out of his way like that was awesome. I will continue to patronize this market. Yay for local neighborhood businesses! ??”
“Love this location, lines move fast, all checkout lanes are usually open. Very helpful staff, and the store is organized in a way that makes sense. Items are stocked regularly. Parking can be difficult.”
“Sharif’s is my spot! And has been for as long as I’ve been living in West Oakland. My go to for my morning coffee, paper, drinks, fresh veggies and ice cream..and of course lil here-and-there’s like hot sauce, noodles, air freshener, TP, etc. Whole family who runs it are good folks, and they keep their store stocked and make sure they ask their customers what we need or would like to see them in keep in stock. They recently renovated/expanded the interior, and it looks awesome! Super spacious, more fridges, new slushy machines, and revamped fresh veggie section amongst other nice upgrades. Love these guys. Quintessential neighborhood corner market.”
“This is the best grocery store in the area. I travel 30 minutes to shop here. Well worth it. Some of the freshest & hugest selection of fruits & vegetables to be found under one roof. The butcher shop in the back of the store is newly remodeled. The butchers are very friendly & helpful with suggestions.”
“It's a good little grocery store. You can pop in here and get some things you need, especially if you're looking for natural foods, organic, vegan type of things. Also if you need some supplements they have a large selection of that. They do not have a large selection of products in general, but they have some different products that may be hard to find other places.”

“I've been into sandwiches lately & wanted to try a new place in Oakland. Tucked inside a small little corner lies Mulberry Market. Order: The Crombie- double salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce,tomato & pepperoncini on sourdough. Although they ran out of the sourdough bread the white bread substitute didn't effect the outcome. The amount of meat is plentiful & you really have to take a big bite to get to the meat. The Crombie is a great new addition to their already delicious sandwiches. So come hungry & leave happy!”
