“Such a cool place and market! Honestly the falafel and hummus weren't to my liking, but perhaps I've become accustomed to the Greek style, which tend to have more herbs and spices, and the chickpeas are slightly coarser. Perhaps Persian-style is just different. It was still pretty good after crisping up the falafel in the toaster oven after drizzling a little olive oil on them. Also a little lemon juice and olive oil on the hummus made it better too. Though still much better than Nectarine Grove or Luna Grill, which put the awful in falafel.”

“If you are a huge fan of French cuisine, like I am and want to dine at home, then Eurofood Depot Gourmet Market is for you! Located in the business area of Miramar or Mira Mesa, this tiny little market sponsored by the French society of San Diego carries authentic, shipped from France merchandise at somewhat reasonable prices. I have been shopping here for several years, and I am always happy with the quality of their products; the freshness, taste, appearance, and the extremely friendly and helpful staff that are more than willing to assist you. Once you enter this tiny establishment, you will be hooked as I was many years ago. Inside you will find an assortment of meats, cheeses, French butter, jams, preserves, cookies, duck rigglets, various pates, sauces, pastries, dry goods, candies, frozen foods (i.e, duck confit, sausages, escargot, veggies, etc.), oils, pastas, canned seafoods (tuna, sardines, cuttlefish...), and numerous seasonal items. Have a look at my photos and you will see how rewarding a visit could be. Highly recommended.”

“Just arrived in Escondido, needed a place for lunch. This is a restaurant located within a Carniceria. Not fancy, not a place for fine dining. Fortunately, we did not need fancy, all we needed was good hot food. The Wednesday soup special was Caldo de Res. I love Caldo de Res. Have not had any for several months as I needed a place that understands Mexican home cooking. Caldo de Res Huge steaming hot bowl of tender cooked beef with corn, carrots and cabbage. Served with cilantro, chopped onion and lime on the side. Precisely what I was in the mood for. The beef was tender and flavorful. I did have to remove a fair amount of fat. The corn, carrots and cabbage flawless. The broth could have used a tad more flavor, depth. It was delicious and I finished it all. It was a 4-star bowl of Caldo de Res. I will definitely be ordering this dish again. Service was exceptional. Staff here all 5-star. Everyone was beyond accommodating. I will definitely be back.”

“My first time shopping at in Indian grocery store and this westerner girl will be returning! There's an abundance of Indian cookies and chips in the packaged snack aisle. I didn't know that potato chips were a big deal in India. The lentil aisle is like the rainbow, they had every color of lentil you could think of. The produce quality was hit and miss if I'm being honest. Most of the herbs and spices I got were fresh though. The spice aisle is what you wish American stores like vons had. You die and go to spice heaven. All sorts of masalas and chilis etc. The frozen section had exotic ice creams like fenugreek and pistachio. They also had a section for votive candles and incense along with Diwali decor. The grocers were busy and kind of kept to themselves. I'm glad I brought my Indian friend to show me all the good brands. Overall this will be my go to ethnic Indian market during my time in SD!”

“Ooh so so yummy good. The sandwich was delicious I went with the club and I also grabbed a bag of these Nicki Minaj chips which I do NOT recommend. But the sandwich was great and we walked over to benches that overlooked the Pier which was so nice and this dog there named Brûlée was wanting a bite of this sandwich sooooo bad !!!! Goes to show it was a good sandwich. The guys working were super nice and friendly. It's really close to some nice beaches that you can walk over to and see so many pups !! It was really nice !”

“It’s Ok. Great for people who don’t have much time to make a meal and I bet there’s a lot of people in that situation. Many of their vegetables were either frozen or plastic wrapped. Not much in fresh fruit compared to other stores that I shop. They have an awesome Macaroni and Cheese Frozen and the Fresh flowers are very nice at a reasonable price. Otherwise, the variety that I’m looking for wasn’t there for me. Also the parking is horrible and I don’t shop there primarily for that reason.”

It's my go-to place when I need office services from Office Depot or phone services from Cricket. Big 5 is awesome and I go there for any outdoorsy activities I'm planning. “Wasn't planning on coming here originally but found this place on Google maps. Immediately walking inside I noticed the cleanliness and the simple layout of the Market. The cashier was very nice along with the crew in the kitchen. I ordered a asada burrito with 3 birria tacos. Waiting for the food, I appreciated the organized placement of goods for sale and the location of the kitchen and seating area. The food was great and the service was professional. Will be back. 5 out of 5.Parking: There are a few spots up front but if they are all taken you can park a little further out by the oil change building.”

“Recently found this gem and can’t stop coming back! I’m amazed by the huge selection and variety of products. Truly a one stop shop! From the exotic snacks and energy drinks, to the HUGE selection of wine, this place is where it’s at. “The North gate is NOW OPEN!! Two days before it finally opened it took me FIFTY minutes to get off the base, then 10 more minutes to get home while my frozen commissary groceries were MELTING!! They must've gotten more troops OR citizens to man both gates! The traffic is now flowing normally! All the stores and services MUST be happy now, and probably seeing more of their customers returning! ?”

“It's a great small market. It is a Mexican store that has a lot of Hispanic products. They have their own butcher counter which is great. I bought some meat there to make a stew and it came out good. They don't have the lowest prices but it's close by. I do like the butcher counter and the staff is very nice.”
