“Shout out to Chase. It was clear he genuinely cared about helping our family and making sure we were fully taken care of. Service like that is rare, and I appreciate how he went above and beyond.”
“It's my go to grocery store. I love that they have several choices for pre-made 1 person meals & they have appropriate portions of packaged produce for a single person so I don't get more than i can use in a few days.”
“They are a great quick stop spot for on sale fresh produce and snacks. The older location was better but this new store is more clean and less crowded. They often have Korean potato noodles on sale.”
“2026-03-26, evening time at the store!
Eric! You made my day finding sth for my niece. We came from another side of the world and found the great surprise from you. We all really appreciated it. We all felt very good with your deed and kindness. This will always make us smile. You're the most valuable asset of Trader Joe's. You only one were able to make all four of us very happy. If we get back to San Diago again, we'll definitely come to see you at the store. Wishing you all the best!
Still smiling!!!!!”
“Lots of fun shopping at Tokyo Central & Main on Convoy Street! So many fun things for sale: appliances, cooking supplies, toys, gundam, Pokémon, hello kitty, tomogotchi, cosmetics and more. Can spend forever looking through everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend!”
“Love the snack selections. I love chocolate and this place has such a healthy selection of chocolate snacks to choose from its diabolical I always end up buying more than I need!”
“My favorite Trader Joe’s. I always find what I need and it’s not crowded on Sunday evenings.
Update: I went on Sunday Morning right after they opened on 3/1/26- The store was organized, stalked, and clean. I had a fruitful conversation with (my receipt reads S, Randy)It set the tone for a great day.”
“I really love the layout of the store, very inviting. The pretzel bread sample was delicious! I especially loved the sign in the back that says that your store gives the leftover food to the food banks, that's awesome!! I'll be back for sure. Thank you!!”
“The Byron store in North Park, San Diego, is truly exceptional. It’s the best store in the area, offering high-quality products and consistently fresh food. Most impressive is their salmon—so fresh and juicy that it’s practically sashimi-grade. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. Additionally, their generosity stands out—they donate food weekly to local churches, which is deeply appreciated. A fantastic store all around!”
“★★★★★
Great market with an excellent selection of beer and wine. Everything is always clean, organized, and easy to find. Frank and Joseph are especially awesome—always friendly, helpful, and ready with great recommendations. Definitely one of my favorite spots—highly recommended!”
“Absolutely love this grocery store! They have a great selection of fresh produce and unique snacks. Plus, the staff is always so cheerful—it makes shopping way more fun!”
“The deli at the 4S Jimbo’s is the best without a doubt. They are always so kind and take the time to make the best sandwiches! The lonestar and the grilled sourdough chicken are me and my boyfriend’s go-to’s, and the deli workers always deliver. Thanks guys:)”
“Got everything that I needed. Layout was great. Staff was helpful, but this location is really busy (can't necessarily help that, and I went at 5pm when everyone is getting off work)”
“Nice little shop in South Park with a good mission and selection. All my purchases were good but the star were the little fall flavored treat balls (visited early November). They were so delicious and will definitely be on my little treat list.”
“I really want to acknowledge the phenomenal captain of this store, Matt. Never had someone so helpful and friendly! I really appreciate his knowledge and input & and that of another employee’s whose name I didn’t catch, especially when it comes to sunscreen (lol).
Food wise: my family has always relied on trader joe’s; I think their combo of frozens + fresh makes it really easy for the average shopper to put together some quick and tasty meals! Faves of mine personally: green thai curry (frozen) and mediterranean salad mix (fresh).
In general, this story is always clean and well stocked, which is impressive considering the amount of college kids coming from the nearby university. Something on a much smaller level is that I recognize a lot of the employees here. This may not seem like a big deal to many shoppers, but I really appreciate seeing the same routine friendly faces. All the employees have historically done a fabulous job handling the chaos from limited edition drops! This is been my home store for a couple years and I’m very sad to be leaving it.”
“i came here in my search for fresh wide rice noodles and was so happy to find such a great variety. they also have a great “chay” vegetarian frozen section with every kind of mock meat you would need, fried spring rolls, sticky rice desserts, etc.”
“I’ve been here so many times it’s an awesome experience to enter the store it really stands out compared to the other competitors like food for less or el super grocery markets. The waters or aka AGUAS FRESCAS are a delicious delicacy that is handcrafted by workers who have mastered the michoacana flavors. The pizzeria is placed just right infront of the store and along with an enthusiastic and welcoming pizza girl that greets you with a “Welcome to Manolos would you like a SAMPLE” so as soon as you walk in you already know your going to walk around with a free yes FREE sample of there delicious pizza. Feel welcome to experience San Diego’s finest farmers market.”

“The best liquor store in the area in my opinion , good prices and no hidden fees everything is displayed on the screen. Great selection of bottles including whiskey and tequila. The gentlemen who works over the counter is very professional and kind. Positively coming back.”
“Great fresh produce and plants. Nice add ons. Everything from Julian bakeries (bread and pies) and to local artisans (everything from jarred roasted bell peppers to homemade hummus, jams and sauces). They have it all at reasonable prices in a sikple, weather proof environment. The ultimate indoor, always open when convenient, farmers market. Love them!”
“This is a great store for the basics plus some home wares, and the produce is the only thing that can be a hit or miss. It’s going to be a little crazy being downtown and the employees know how to keep things in check.”
“Always go to get some groceries, the customer service team is always there to help out when you need something you can’t find. Big open space for seasonal items and sushi is always fresh! They serve musubi’s now!! (Rice balls that have filling inside).”

“It's worth a trip if you like delicious Carne Asada and adobada. They prep the meat really well and it taste delicious. We seriously drive here just for the meat. I wish I could tell you more about the store, but the carniceria/butcher shop is always our target, and it's always a win. Try it.”
“It's okay, I just always feel like they think I am there to steal. It's projecting on my part because I don't get harassed when I go in. They don't even bother me about my backpack. I can't give it a five because it's a drab and dreary little place”
“Always clean. Prices can be a bit outrageous at times, but they have a great hot and cold bar. If you're into olives, the olive bar always looks fresh. That makes it worth it. I've always had a friendly cashier, and they do a great job keeping the line moving. It's one single file line, so you never have to make the tough choice of trying to figure out which line is going to move the fastest. Don't you hate when you pick the line with the least amount of people, but then someone pulls out their checkbook to pay, and they can't find a working pen. Or another person gets one thing with no price tag and is an item from the other side of the store. Then the cashier has to call the manager over to explain it. They never hear it all on the first go. Now you've seen everyone that was in the line you should have chosen outside in their cars, and now new people are getting in that line. Well, Baron's saves you from that frustration. There's a few tables outside for you to eat at if you like. It's a parking lot, so not the best view but nice enough if you need a few minutes to yourself before getting home to your noisy children or unhappy spouse. I often drop my car off at the car wash across the street, walk over, and do my shopping. It's a very peaceful store.”
“Speacialty produce was nice. It was freezing in there and i wasnt dressed appropriately. They had a sign that read 'Welcome to Siberia'. I bought a few varieties of heirloom tomatoes..and that was the best part of my day. The bathroom was basic but clean.”
“I've been coming to this market for 30 years, it's nice now the newest owners are the best yet! The store is always playing really good music that gives your body rhythm! So stop by and get a big drink of Rhythm.”
“Fantastic salad bar always fun during the holidays they have special items. Sometimes it's a wait to cash out occasionally there's one employee that's grumpy.”
“I've been to 90 percent of grocery outlet stores in San Diego and this one is on my top 3...well stocked unique products fresh produce will definitely come back again”
“The staff is always friendly. Great variety of delicios sandwiches. They would get a 5 stars, but their cole slaw side is very salty. Grest selection of wines and food.”
“Trader Joe’s Carmel Mountain Rd… Amazing and friendly. After a long day it’s actually quite fun to go in and shop for dinner. Hello Spanish Rice and that Garlic spread! Time savers and fun recipes! Nom Nom!”
