“We had a lovely stay at the Marina Motel! The staff were very friendly, the location was perfect, and the beds were comfortable. Having coffee and hot cocoa in the room was a nice touch. It’s a charming building with some quirks and our room got a little hot, until we found the fan in the closet! The neighborhood is pretty loud with nightlife and loud cars - maybe some street racing? So bring your earplugs and white noise app.”

“I cannot say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. I was able to stay there for a couple of nights and truly felt taken care of in every sense of the word. Mark was there to greet me and gave me a little tour of all of the buildings and gardens. Mark was helpful so many times when I had questions. The gardens alone are worth the stay. The feeling there is peacefulness and quietness, but they have thought of everything in the way of convenience and luxury. They have really nice bathrobes and phone charger plates in every room. The people I encountered there were friendly and felt like old neighbors. The breakfasts are over the top delicious and so much better than any hotel where I've stayed. I can't more highly recommend the Parker Guest House.”

“Amazing hotel in great location. Close to Union square, shopping mall and facing Market street. Dine-in service was quick and efficient. Hotel Stuff was incredible. Something I didn’t know, you get access to Equinox gym which is on the 4th floor, otherwise I’d bring some workout clothes.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Metro Hotel in SF. The location was great for exploring the city, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Check in was smooth and easy, and the overall value for the price was excellent. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.”

“Great hotel with an awesome staff. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. But the staff and location are what sets it apart. From the moment we checked in the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with our requests. Highly recommended with lots of food options close by”

Her excellent customer service, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests truly stood out. You are a true asset to the Chancellor Hotel, and I look forward to staying here again!”

“so so special. the history throughout the property is unlike anything i've experienced at a hotel, every wall tells a story! we had golden gate bridge views from our room, the wine and cheese hour by the fire pit was a highlight of our whole trip, and the complimentary breakfast was genuinely good. the staff were so warm and kind. this place will stay with us for a long time <3”

“Property is centrally located. Very neat and clean rooms. The movie kiosk/ mini theater was a good experience. Pop corn was served during movie. Even the coffee/tea hall is splendid in nature. Best place for brewing.

The only thing which hit me hard is charging of house keeping charges while check out. No mention what so ever was made while check in process or even during the stay. The price of suite which seemed to be cheaper became a night mare. This incidence lost all my cool and happiness factor.
Rest it is the most ideal place for short picnic to San Francisco.”

“Close to bart, everyone that works there is extremely pleasant and helpful. Amenities are up to date and ran into zero issue. Wish there were more restaurant options though”

“I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental San Francisco. The hotel is modern, clean, and perfectly located for both business and leisure. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. Jim from in-room dining went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and made the experience seamless and enjoyable. Dorian was also incredibly helpful, ensuring I had everything I needed before heading back to the airport. Their attention to detail and genuine care made my stay especially memorable. I would absolutely stay here again.”

“Although this place is over 100 years old and still has the charm and splendor of thag era it has man modern-day upgrades. It is in a noisy are of San Francisco so be aware. Most of S F does not quiet down that much at night.”

“We stayed here three nights. The rooms were very clean. Didn't hear any traffic noise. Staff was friendly. Reasonable price. Free parking. Close to public transportation. I dropped a star because the wifi was spotty. Couldn't watch video on my tablet.”

“My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. It's a perfect place for anyone who appreciates Victorian style and historic charm. The furniture and decor were beautifully preserved — vintage throughout, yet everything was in excellent condition.

The room was spotless, the atmosphere was cozy and elegant, and the attention to detail made our stay especially enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed.

We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique, charming, and memorable place to stay. We would be happy to return in the future.”

“For the price, this was an amazing hotel. I liked that you felt you were right in the city - with tons of bars and restaurants around - and that the hotel had charming historic ambiance - the front room with the huge windows and the ceiling alone were impressive! The room was spacious. We had heard maybe to worry about staying in this part of town but it was totally fine - if you went three blocks south you would be in a bad part of town ( Tenderloin) but we just walked east and west. If you walk north you’re in Nob Hill, which has some great restaurants and bars as well.”

“We stayed here for two nights, and overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, and the interior was beautiful, featuring a charming vintage style. We would give this hotel 4.5 stars because, overall, it provided a wonderful sense of comfort and felt like a home away from home.

A few areas could be improved. The breakfast was quite limited and repetitive, with very little variety from day to day. Also, slippers were not provided in the room, which would have been a nice addition.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience”

“It has a sleek, modern interior and offers events like comedy shows or dj parties. Their cocktails are excellent, and each room has some really interesting and unique design features.”

“Nicely renovated room. Great location next to Hayes valley. Good price. Friendly staff.
Sq footage is tight. Checkout later than 10 am would be nice. Housekeeping never made our bed.
Overall would stay again.”

“We were traveling with our two adult sons and a girlfriend for a long weekend. In order for everyone to be comfortable I was considering 2 rooms at a regular hotel or a place like this that allowed us to have 2 bedrooms plus a pullout couch and 2 bathrooms. It allowed my son and his girlfriend as well as our other son options. It also allowed all of us to be together in the same location instead of two hotel rooms. Plenty of room and this place exceeded expectations. The hotel made sure one room had two twin beds and one room had a king bed. perfect for our situation. You can also get it organized as two bedrooms both with king beds. It was essentially a large apt with a hallway, large modern kitchen and washer and dryer. Bedrooms each had their own beautiful bathrooms. Both bedrooms and living room all had views of Alcatraz and Bay. Pay for the view. 1000% worth it. Staff was extremely friendly. What you would expect paying for a place like this. I still claim based on what we got for the price was better than getting two regular rooms at another hotel. Noise was not a factor. The location is fantastic. Walkable to everything. Safe. The rooftop space with firepit is lovely. We used it. They gave us a sweet San Fran Frame, a personal note and a disposable camera to take photos for our memories. They had Nespresso on kitchen counter. Wine fridge. Wine for sale at hotel. Free expresso and water in the lobby. Plenty of games to play in the lobby. I would highly recommend if you want a memorable, 5 star experience and have a family you want to have all together. We arrived at 9 am (long before the 4pm check in) They allowed us to store luggage and we explored the city--went across golden gate bridge, etc. and got in room about 3pm. I believe it was available to us about 1pm and they texted to let us know. The only possible room for improvements - I wish they had a light free breakfast and wish they had regular coffee in the lobby. We did see a mouse in Ghirardelli chocolate factory right below our hotel room. Not shocking as hotel is historic and doors are generally open, but seeing it head into rafters in ceilings made me a little leery regarding our room although we did not have issues in our room. We did quietly notify the Ghirardelli staff so they knew and we let the hotel know since mouse was at ceiling level of wall. They responded right away and let us know they would let maintenance/cleaning staff know. They took it seriously. I did not expect anything of it, but had hoped when we asked if we could have late check out that they could accommodate. Based on looking at bookings that night on their hotel site it looked like our room was not sold. They offered to allow us to stay from 11am an hour longer to 12pm, but would charge us $200 per hour from 12pm to 4pm or $800. That was disappointing. I had hoped a free late checkout to 2 or 3pm as our flight home was in the evening. Not a big deal, but for the price felt it was an accommodation they could have offered and really made our day. Something to think about:-). overall I give it a 9 out of 10 and highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff!”

“Everything about this hotel is great, aside from the breakfast. Compared to other Holiday Inn Express locations that I've stayed at, the quality of the food was subpar with limited options.”

4.3 Superb105 Reviews

“This hotel is an exceptional value for the price. I knew from pictures it was an older motel-style hotel, but they've done a great job modernizing and equipping the rooms.

The hotel is in a safe, lively area with just about everything you need for a short or long stay. I'm in my 60s and was traveling alone and felt perfectly safe here. I walked everywhere and I'm so happy I chose this area rather than an overpriced, over-hyped hotel in the downtown area.

The hotel is quiet and the staff are all very friendly. I will stay here in the future and look forward to my next visit.”

“Stayed here for pride 2026 with my friends. Would highly recommend this hotel! We had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were perfect and the hotel felt very safe! The area surrounding is a bit rough but the hotel was an oasis and safe space in comparison! Paid parking overnight is highly recommended if you have a car! Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Also would like to highlight that the bed was incredibly comfortable. Alex at the front desk was very helpful and friendly!”

“This was my second time staying here. It did not disappoint, as the rooms are high quality, relatively quiet, and with large bathtubs that fill with water very quickly. The only quibble was that the spa had a broken steam room, so I could not use that during my stay. Please be aware that the spa is only available if you book a treatment, so my massage was very good, but disappointing that the steam room was not working, plus no whirlpool at this hotel. The sauna was good. So far, nonetheless, this is the best hotel I have found to stay at in San Francisco, if you want a fairly peaceful vibe with a good bar in the lobby. I would likley stay there again, but I hope they fix their steam room next time. This is still NOT at the level of amazing 5-star properties elsewhere, like Post Oak in Houston, but it is still quite good.”

“Found this place on a last minute stay after going to a few different ones. The lady who helped me up front was very sweet and helpful. Everyone was very helpful actually. The room was clean and comfortable. Definitely would use this place again.”
