“Very comfortable and clean. The location is unbeatable to reach all strategic sites and it is a quiet area. Also consider the proximity of restaurants and supermarkets. The attention and explanations received by the receptionist are unbeatable! We would return to Castle Inn without hesitation. Thank you!!”

“It was one of the best stays I’ve had and was strategically located to everywhere I needed to be for work and fun, 10mins walk to Chinatown and the financial district was an added fun. Lots of bars and lounges around too. The service of staff was topnotch and i particularly enjoyed and looked forward to breakfast.”

“Just the most charming and lovely B&B I've stayed at in a very long time. Location in SF (and not ONLY, but certainly IF you're GLBTQ!) is fabulous. Easy transportation right across the street, and another a couple blocks down. Rooms decorated in a delightful, very "old SF" way. Highly recommended.”

“Loved our stay here. We stayed for 3 nights to visit the city.We arrived before check in time but our room was ready and we were let in!The room was fantastic, it was huge, plenty of floor space and storage. Equally, the bathroom was big too. The bed was very comfortable.Location wise, it was great, felt safe in this area. Easy to walk around locally there were a good selection of bars and restaurants.”

“We enjoyed our stay here. Finding a pet friendly hotel that accepts larger dogs is not always easy in cities so we were pleased. The room was beautiful and we had a great view of the city. The location is excellent. We were able to take a walk and see quite a bit. We live in a small town in Appalachia so our dogs did not know what to make of San Francisco ? We ordered room service which was delicious. We would absolutely stay here again when in SF.”

“Great place. Nice fire places and areas to hang out and read a book or just chill. Service is good. Like most of San Francisco, you have to bee concerned about leaving anything in your car.”

“Very beautiful place with friendly staff. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Staff gave us recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. The motel was close to everything we wanted to see and do and was right next to a Walgreens and bus stop so we didn’t have to walk far to get where we wanted.”

“Great location. Got an incredible price for the value. Staff are great. I like the plastic ducks they place around. No AC but I stayed during winter so no issue.”

“Stunning hotel and unbelievable customer service. From the front desk, to the wine bar, the bellhop, valet and restaurant, we had the most wonderful experience. It's a long story, but I royally screwed up the reservation for my partner's 60th birthday. The hotel was so gracious about it and gave us incredible accommodations in spite of my mistake. Can't recommend enough!!”

“I really like the location of this hotel. The only issue I had was the first room we had had a great view of the bay it was amazing. However, when we got back that night, the nightclub right next door was so loud that we couldn't sleep and had to change rooms. The other room did not have a view at all, but we were able to fall asleep.”

“Quaint and full of character. It's quirky and in a perfect location to walk around and catch buses, find food, convenience stores etc. Staff is welcoming and accommodating. It is a HISTORIC hotel, if you're looking for ultra modern super hotel look for a Hilton. This is a great hotel and I love staying here.”

“This hotel only has up to a one bedroom. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller than it was, so I was pleasantly surprised. The staff, like most Worldmark's, was friendly and helpful; the hotel was clean. The strange thing though is the flooring. If you weren't on ground level, the floors sloped, so my equilibrium felt off, and when I'd walk in the room I feltLike I'd fall. I gather it's because of the age of the building...What's also nice is the location. It's only a few blocks from Union Square and there is a parking garage right across the street.”

“I have stayed here many times for medical trips. The rooms are always clean and quiet. Customer service is great. Location is great, everything you need is within walking distance. Free parking in a parking lot. Price is great as well. Will continue to stay here in the future.Walkability: Close to really great restaraunts and all necessary amenities.”

“Great place to stay when in San Francisco! This will be our go to hotel in the city. Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Old school charm and a lot of charisma, very cozy. The only downside is parking. We received a 90.00 ticket for being parked on the street in the morning.Food & drinks: Free Continental breakfast. Restaurant and bar.Noteworthy details: Great coffee station 24 hrs.”

“Wow!! We travel often and try our best to pick luxurious hotels at a family-friendly rate. This place was AMAZING!! Wish we would remember every staff member’s names that helped us but Emmanuel did stand out at check in. He was kind, helpful and quick! Gave us an extremely helpful recommendation to get a last minute reservation at the Tonga restaurant inside (MUST DO WITH KIDS) and we got in on a Saturday night. Our only disappointment was the valet parking and rates. On top of generous tips we were surprised to find that nearby parking was available at less than half the rate. Also the valet people were not very patient with our children. I’ve reached out to the valet manager, Sal, to see if they can work with us on these charges. Don’t park at the hotel!”

“SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO TUAN THE BELLMAN, AND ALL THREE MEN (AND A WOMAN) AT THE FRONT DESK! THEY ALL DID THEIR BEST TO MAKE SURE I WAS HAPPY AND ACCOMMODATED!YOU CAN TELL TUAN AND THE VALET (I believe from El Salvador), ON THE NIGHT SHIFT OF MARCH 15th, TRULY LOVE TO SERVE FROM THEIR HEARTS! And the WOMAN TENDING THE BAR FROM POLAND!!!! I’M SO SORRY I DIDN’T CATCH YOUR NAME! YOU WERE SOOO FRIENDLY AND HAD REALLY GOOD TASTE IN FOOD! SHE WAS SOOOO GENUINELY CARING! THE YOUNG WOMAN WAITRESS AT ELLIOTT’S ON MARCH 16th (sorry IDK your name but she wears glasses), SHE WAS SUPER NICE TO ME JUST A SWEET SPIRIT! I HAVE TO SAY EVERYONE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY NICE AND HAD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND I KNOW GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.THIS HOTEL ALSO RECOGNIZES AND ACKNOWLEDGES YOUR MARRIOTT REWARDS STATUS, AND THEY HAVE SUPER GOOD PERKS LIKE CREDITS FOR BREAKFAST OR MARRIOTT POINTS JUST TO SAY ‘WELCOME’ & ‘THANK YOU’! (Cookies and champagne ?).The staff never treated me poorly or looked down on me… I’m so grateful and would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting SF. ?!I stayed at Hotel Adagio for the second time Today! I also stayed here back in December 2023. It was a beautiful hotel with all the Christmas decorations and holiday cheer. There were no homeless people to step over as I had read about in other reviews. To be fair, in Dec 2023 the city had just rid the streets of all the homeless secondary to the state of arrival of the Chinese president. This second time, around 3 months later, there STILL were no homeless people in site (may The Lord Bless them and keep them safe).I felt completely safe walking around outside to get in Lyfts or find the valet. (Single female here). This was a staycation for me, however, when I am out of town I like resorts or hotels that have a luxurious feel, or close to that anyway. This Hotel, while it isn’t a resort, is more than sufficient. They keep the inside looking well kept and clean. It doesn’t feel like, let’s say, you’re staying at a “Residence Inn” (NO SHADE TO RESIDENCE IN, THERE’s a time for that type of hotel). I needed a break from kids, and to relax. I also booked a massage at Burke Williams which is only 5 mins away via Lyft. If you need R&R, I highly recommend this hotel and that spa!Thank you again Hotel Adagio, I can’t wait to visit you all again! May The Lord Jesus bless you all abundantly for your service!????????????”

“Amazing hotel! Much better area than the hotels downtown and ideal location for activities since it’s in Ghirardelli square and near fisherman’s wharf. The manager, Dan, is amazing and so helpful!”

“Pleasant, charming, clean, uh, “cozy”. In perfect candor the rooms are tiny. I’m 5’ 11” and had no problems but a friend a few inches taller would bump into his lamps at night he said, lol.But the night porter was awesome and I’d stay there again for its convenience to other parts of the city and proximity to colorful bars.”

“Stayed here for a conference. This hotel came up in the exact area I wanted to be and the price/location were both good. This hotel is not what you want, if luxury accommodations are what you need. This hotel is more like a great place for single travel when you want a quiet and convenient location. While staying here I never saw or heard but maybe one other guest, even though the hotel was fully booked. If you stay in the front of the building, you will hear some street noise and night life but honestly I like that so it was welcoming background noise while asleep.Rooms: Room was on the smaller side but they are well equipped. Shower produced nice hot water and ample toiletries were provided. There is another reviewer who mentioned a mouse and this was a concern, when booking but I never saw any trace/sign of rodents. Albeit a risk in any city (mice or rats) this hotel has devices in the rooms to ward of any such creatures and they clearly worked.Safety: All though this city is clearly struggling with homeless camps, those are neither in this area or a concern while walking around. I walked from the hotel to Golden gate bridge as well as into downtown and never felt unsafe.Walkability: Very walkable area, if you are a healthy individual which is accustom to walking or exercise in general, you'll have no problem getting anywhere you wish to go. I didn't even text a car, during this trip. Bart from the airport only took about 30 min and the walk to hotel only about 10 min or soNoteworthy details: The stairs and lobby area smell like musty old garlic, likely due to the proximity of the restaurant next door but isn't as bad in the room. Last but certainly not least, the staff was super friendly and more helpful than most big chain hotels I've ever stayed. There is no a/c in the rooms but that's no so important in the city, given annual temperature and fact that all rooms have heaters, fans, and large windows to open fire a breeze.”

“Incredible. The hotel has a unique and special style for music lovers. At the reception there is also a bar and a stage where they give shows and rehearsals, all with a rock studio theme. The room area is very quiet and clean. Ideal for traveling with friends or alone. It also has a room where you can serve coffee at any time of the day and is ideal for having breakfast or working remotely. Excellent price and qualityRooms: The rooms are very comfortable and the beds have a curtain that creates a private space with its own light in each cubicle. Very clean. There are also refrigerators and sinks inside the room. Not all of them have an internal bathroom.Nearby activities: The hotel is very well located. You can easily reach any of the tourist spots in the city.”

“This is one of the great places to stay in San Francisco. I have stayed here quite a few times and it's a very cozy little hotel. The rooms are very clean and they have fireplaces and if you go in the summertime they have a swimming pool plus the beach is right across the street. If you don't want to drive your car you can easily take an Uber or a Lyft downtown or if you're adventurous you can take a bus, San Francisco has a fantastic transportation system.Rooms: The rooms are very clean and cozy with fireplaces and all the amenities you need.Nearby activities: The beach is right across the street.Food & drinks: Coffee maker, coffee, and tea.”
