Family Pet Hospital
815 E 17th Ave, LongmontI called the previous day and was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning. I arrived two minutes late, and no one made me feel uncomfortable or rushed. Libby was weighed and brought back promptly. The technician gathered initial information about our concern, and Dr. Cross came in within a few minutes.
Dr. Cross was professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in her communication. We proceeded with radiographs, and sedation was discussed as I expected. Pricing was clearly reviewed, and although I was comfortable with sedation, the team decided to attempt the radiographs without it first. Libby came back looking like a queen, and they told me she was incredibly cooperative—which significantly reduced the cost.
Throughout the visit, I genuinely felt like Family Pet Hospital treated us as long-term patients, not revenue producers. The radiographs received a full orthopedic review, and Dr. Cross clearly explained the findings and provided written notes so I could fully understand the results.
We’ll be returning to Family Pet Hospital soon for Libby’s spay and baby tooth extraction. I’m very grateful for the care, transparency, and respect shown to both of us.

Grace, my very athletic Foxhound mix blew out her knee while playing. She was still young enough to where surgery was an option. Dr Peila explained the procedure and follow up for a plate in her knee. Not an inexpensive surgery- but they helped us to secure some financing options for it. I'm so glad we had this done. My dog has recovered 100%. It has been two years now and she has a quality of life she would have without Dr. Peila's help. GOOD JOB TEAM!

14077 Co Road 5, LongmontI waited over a year to write a review because I wanted it to be honest. Between daycare days and boarding, my dog and I LOVE cottage kennels. I rave about it to friends and coworkers. When I had ankle surgery, they helped bring her from my car to inside and from inside to my car, I super appreciated that. They truly care about your dog (and you).
While I selfishly wish their hours were slightly different for drop off and pick up so I can keep using them for daycare with my new job, I respect the schedule they have for the dogs they care for. They know I drive a good distance out of my way just so my pup, Cora, can be boarded/daycare there WITH THEM. I am EXTREMELY particular on who I allow to watch my dog and while I still cry leaving her for boarding, I know they’re taking great care of her with a mix of fun in the sun and down time with snacks and the toys that I provide for her. I LOVE that. We’ve been to a daycare in the past that was ALL PLAY ALL DAY and she came home hurt. She likes to play but also is very mellow enjoying just being around other dogs and the staff and environment meets her needs perfectly. I still intend on using them for boarding in the future and I also LOVE the report cards. I send them to all my friends and family and re read them 100x until I’m back with my baby.
Also, if you haven’t followed their Instagram page I highly recommend that you do! It’s so fun to see your dog show up on your feed ☺️

Oliver, my 4yo French Bulldog, has been reactive on-leash towards dogs and people since he was a pup. We worked with other trainers in the past and made minimal progress. I am so happy to say Oliver has made incredible progress with Sarah's help building upon the bit of foundational work we had already established. We have had so much fun this summer taking Oliver to different parks, trails, and recreation areas that we never could have dreamed about taking him to previously because they are either too busy or there is not enough room to pass other people or dogs because his zone of comfort was so enormous. We now seek out busy areas to work on his training and continue to expose him to different environments and situations with the confidence that we as his people know how to read his behavior and we have the tools to help him act appropriately. It has been wonderful to experience a greater connection with him as his trust in us and our trust in his decision making skills has blossomed. Oliver is much more confident and it is very clear to us he is loving the new experiences and gets so excited to go on new adventures now instead of buzzing with anxiety. Not at all.Yes Carly is polarizing. Her own onboarding material makes that abundantly clear (if you didn’t read it). Carly LOVES dogs, she makes above and beyond efforts to be helpful and direct. If she tells you are doing something wrong, there’s a good reason. It may not be obvious at first but towards the end of foundations you’ll see why.Yes they are lecture heavy, but that’s on purpose, the issue isn’t the dogs, it’s the owners. We saw that first hand when we attended the classes, didn’t do the work and then had several fear incidents with our pup that led to biting.We came back, did the work, did the practice like we were supposed to and our dog is better than she’s ever been. She’s more confident, listens so well and can trust her to stay put while we go get food 30 feet away and will wait for us.All the “skills” that the dog needs can be taught in a couple of hours. The problem is us humans learning how dogs think and changing how we do this. That’s why the foundation is “lesson” heavy, anyone can teach dog tricks. This is not that, you are adopting a completely different mindset to dog behavior that will outlast any “trick” you can teach your dog.We will go anywhere Carly does to teach our future dogs period.We are eternally grateful for her and her teams dedication, do not pass up the opportunity, this is worthwhile like any program that’s there to help you, not make you feel better because you “tried”.
