21 South Glasgow Avenue, RicoTLDR: Exceptional way to wake up in Rico and grab breakfast.
Atmosphere: I was welcomed by One by One All Day by the Shins. At my direct left entering the store, I could see what looked like some cozy booths filled with quilts and pillows. To my right was the store, with artwork, jewelry and some other merchandise/beauty products. I could see outside was also a meeting area, with a sign mentioning that dogs could be out there. It wasn't too crowded and right down the street from my Airbnb at Enterprise Grill, and I could feel an immediate calm wash over me when I walked in.
Service: The cashier at the front was patient and approachable. They have menus ready for you at the front, and water is self-service nearby. If you need a second to order, you'll be able to take your time and come up to the counter when ready. When the order is ready, they will call out your name. My order was pretty large, to include Huckleberry lemonade, green chile burrito with bison, golden milk ,forest floor and cacao elixir.
Food (Note: to keep this as professional as possible, I tried drinking water between trying each of the items, except when I provide my experimental combination for what complements eachother well):
Cacao Elixir (No espresso):
Menu Description: A gentle Energizer and heart opener. Pure Cacao milk, cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, maple syrup
My description:
Gentle kick to wake you up in the morning. When they say pure Cacao, they mean it; don't expect it to taste like store bought cacao. It was an awesome experience to see what cacao tastes like without as much processing, and it combines well with the cayenne to give you that earthy kick.
Forest Floor:
Menu Description:An adaptive if dream/immune boosting natural energy building. Milk, coconut butter, house mushroom blend, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup
My description: Like a premium hot cocoa. What I notice with most store bought hot cocoa is that it often ends up too sweet. The way the spices are balanced here is much more mellow, and gentle.
Golden Milk: An Ayurvedic blend for anti-inflammatory for warmth. Coconut oil, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, adaptogenic blend.
My description: Creamy, earthy, yet maintains sweetness of the milk. Slight kick, but not too strong.
Huckleberry Lemonade:
My Description: Tart, citrusy. No added sweeteners, but just the right amount of sweetness contributed by the ratio of the berries.
Green Chile Burrito with Bison Chorizo:
Bit of a strong kick for my taste, but that's personal preference. If you work your way through that kickz you are welcomed by the subtle sweetness of the sweet potatoes and some hydration from tomatoes that were cooked just right
Combinations (ideas that seemed to work well for me):
Golden Milk or forest floor+ Green Chile Burrito: Green Chile's kick is pretty strong, but these two seem to balance it out to make it less strong.

Prospector
124 South Glasgow Avenue, RicoProspector was an amazing experience. The place is unique and the overall decor, environment and experience was awesome. I went for dinner while on vacation in the area with my wife and in laws. I was able to see into the kitchen and watch some of the prep as each dish was being set out ready to go. In terms of the food, the corn bisque was the best corn soup I have ever had in my life. The tenderloin taco, veggie lasagna and roasted chicken were also all fantastic. I will be going back anytime I am in the area and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a top notch meal in the area. 10/10

3 North Glasgow Avenue, RicoBalm for the soul on a cold and wet autumn day. The pizza is also better than the photos make it look. Really nice people, too.
