“I lived in Gainesville for 5 years and have visited a few times since moving. I somehow did not know about this gem. It is incredible. The heated pool was perfect for our mid-February stay. The grounds are immaculate. Staff was very friendly. And downtown is a 5-7 minute walk. For those wanting to head out for dinner, the walkway to downtown is well-lit and I felt plenty safe walking it with my wife and young children. Highly recommend Sweetwater Inn!”

“Spent one night in a king room. Hotel in a great location near stores and restaurants. It's attached to a Sturbridge inn. Friendly check-in, lobby very clean. Room was nicely done and clean. Bed and pillows weren't to stiff or soft. Room overlooked pool area, which was very nice. Pool, hot tub, fire pit area, basketball court. Breakfast was typical standard.”

“The hotel is newer and clean, but this has to be the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. We were in an upper floor, north facing room, and the traffic noise made it difficult to fall asleep before midnight. After the traffic noise mostly subsided, the hotel parking lot had an hourly visit from someone revving their engine and playing loud music. Earlier in the evening the room next door had a large group of guys making a lot of noise. Seems like the walls are thinner than other places I've stayed.”

“My daughter and I stayed at the Laurel Oak Inn while moving her into her sorority house. The location was convenient to downtown and The Swamp for meals, and an easy drive to get to her sorority house each day. The accommodations were great...beds were very comfortable and the room was well appointed... we absolutely loved the charm the house had! If we needed anything or had a special request, the owners were very responsive and friendly. Hope to stay here again in the future!”

“Our initial impression came from the Valets who welcomed & greeted us with smiles, professionalism, and most importantly, great attitudes. Then came check in, the “African American woman with the nose ring” who worked the front desk (Mentioned in other review) was amazing and patient as we checked in; as we had questions due to the medical nature of our visit. She answered all of questions; she was very pleasant to work with a great attitude to boost. Let’s not forget Margret, your simple gesture of assisting me while I wheeled my wife up to our room, was amazing!! Thank You!!The restaurant: My wife and I were immediately welcomed with warm smiles professionalism, and seated promptly. The staff there were amazing, which made our meals all that more enjoyable. We had a lite fare after coming off the road, my wife loved the chicken noodle soup while I enjoyed one of the best French onion soups I’ve had in a long time and to finish off our meal, we thoroughly enjoyed the brownie with ice cream, ??. Their turkey panini is top notch too. Huge shout out to the restaurant staff: Thank you for the amazing service!! Emily, your service was amazing, You’re Awesome!!Let’s not forget the staff behind the scenes (Housekeeping): They keep that place shining while providing great customer service when interacting with guests!! Thank you house keeping team!!!To sum it up!! Amazing experience!!! Hotel Eleo will be my got to place for overnight stays in Gainesville!!Rooms: The rooms were well kept, clean and welcoming with a nice view of the water features.Walkability: Having the hotel so close to the hospital was great!Food & drinks: The food and drinks were amazing only to be topped by the restaurant staff. “Solid hotel. Expected level of rooms. Staff is just amazing!! From front desk, to breakfast team, to housekeeping team. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Even for Marriott’s in general they were a live and beyond. The owners and Mangers should be proud of their team!”

“I'll admit I'm a little snooty when it comes to hotels. I was traveling with two small dogs and greeted by two SUPER KIND ladies at reception. The staff I encountered everywhere were just great. The lobby and the grounds were nice (especially for dogs)! I would have given this hotel a 5 but the room needed a little TLC. I do believe that staff made up for it. Also, I ordered pizza delivery and they came straight to my door. (Five Star Pizza recommended by front desk also.) The location was great for me because I was going to U of F Dermatology right across I-75. 2 minute drive. Take care of your staff BW. They made up for needed room renovations :)”

“Leo at the front desk helped my husband and I check in. Leo was very friendly and went above and beyond to find a room that was available. The hotel was sold out and thankfully we got the last room. The room was clean and the breakfast buffet was very nice. We will definitely stay again.”

“This was a very nice one-night stay. We came to attend an engagement party in Gainesville, and then left early the next morning for some time on the Rainbow River. Checkin was easy, as well as checkout. The room was generally very clean, save for the floor needing a proper mopping. We spilled some drops of water and wiped it up. The paper towel came up pretty dirty. This is typical as the housekeeping usually uses swiffer-type wipes, and it usually just moves the dirt around. We always wear house shoes, so it wasn't a big deal. The king bed was very comfortable with pristine sheets, so easily 5 stars on that.We were on the 5th floor, so I think that's why the water pressure from the shower head was fairly low flow. The sink and toilet had no issues, though. The air conditioning worked well, thankfully, since it was a heat index of over 100 degrees when we checked in.Breakfast was complete with waffle makers, industrialized eggs, sausage patties and links, cereal, toast, etc. The food quality was, well, what one would expect from packaged items, but everything was well-presented.We would very happily stay here again. The location is good, though I wouldn't tempt fate by leaving anything visible in the car.”

“I really wanted to like this hotel. I really did. Kinda chic and modern. Unfortunately, the sparse bar and even sparcer breakfast table was disappointing. I’d go back to the Courtyard before staying at another AC. Room was good and comfortable but very basic. No real restaurants in the hotel and they don’t serve after 10 a.m. Not a very good experience for a Marriott property. The microwave in the buffet area was filthy - looked like something exploded in it weeks ago. Was going to warm up my coffee until I opened the microwave door. On the positive side the staff is very nice and professional. Sorry AC! I really wanted to give 5 stars.Food & drinks: The AC breakfast was European-style. Emphasis on “style” - no croissants or egg dish as advertised. Cold cereals, toast, and a few cold cuts. I’ve spent plenty of time in Europe and have never seen a more sparse breakfast “buffet.” Could have walked across the street to Publix and gotten the same for $2.00. Don’t waste your money on the breakfast package.”

“We stayed over night on February 17th. Checking in at 8:30 pm w a sweet girl, Narlin (spelled?, not sure of her name). The room was spotless, which was greatly appreciated for the extra effort. The room had a mini kitchen, which would be great for an extended stay. Bed was comfy w ample.pillows… everything needed for a fabulous night’s sleep. Breakfast: I appreciated the oatmeal w all the fixings. Upon checking out at 8 am, a friendly goodbye from the lady behind checkout (didn’t catch her name). Only negative: the waffles were pretty bad. We may come by again!”

“Want to take this time to express the Great Customer service this hotel has. Assistant Manager Ms O, her positive spirit, communication skill and leadership is what this hotel needs. Clerks Sam, Dre and Steven are simply amazing helpful, Courteous. Jayson of your engineering team is one the most assertive and helpful you need more individuals with that experience at your hotel.Walkability: Most eatery is in walking distance and near the college”

“I have stayed at this hotel several times, sometimes for several weeks traveling for work, and I have never had any problems. The staff are amazing and they do not allow any nonsense at this hotel. I have stayed at a lot of the more expensive hotels in the area and they have the thinnest walls and the worst service - Red Roof Plus is exemplary. Is it a 5-star hotel? No. It's not meant to be. But the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the wi-fi works well, and I can access my work network with no problems. I would highly recommend staying here. It's close to Butler Plaza, all the restaurants you could want, a Target is right across the way as well as a Publix. This is my go-to hotel when I am in Gainesville.Rooms: The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the linens are soft, the pillows are good, the towels are soft. I have stayed at other hotels in the area that a much more expensive and way less clean than the Red Roof Plus. The only time you hear other guests are when they are working at making noise - and all you have to do is call the front desk and the noise stops.Nearby activities: This hotel is close to the interstate, close to UF, close to Butler Plaza - close to about anything you could want in Gainesville.Walkability: There is a Target in the shopping center across the street along with various shops and a Publix. There are several fast food restaurants also within walking distance.”

“Clean and aromatic. Good service. Nice gym. Located walking distance from many restaurants and shopping. Bougee hotel for a weekend trip but not ideal for long term since the rooms do not have microwaves.Food & drinks: Breakfast was ala carte. No fresh coffee in lobby.”

“Everything in town was no vacancy. I expected a crack motel with all night redneckin' in the parking lot. It is dated construction, but it was quiet and clean. The room lacked thevstale cigarette smoke smell that you often get in this price range. High quality new mattress gave me a great night's sleep. AC was functional in the humid August's heat. Wi-Fi was good too. It's not a place to come spend a vacation but perfect for a night's rest and a shower.”

“My stay in this hotel was really good. The location is great, it's so close to everything. I want to shout out to Xavier and Rehiem for their expectational service, they went over and beyond to get me anything I needed.”

“The room we were in had just been remodeled. It was very elegant and clean! The breakfast was the typical continental breakfast! The dining area was small, but clean. The maintenance man got a little harsh with me because I grabbed a Bible out of a desk to put in our room. He came at me with attitude wanting to know why I did that. My husband told him we didn't have a Bible in our room. I wanted one in there to read. He was throwing his title around and I finally told him I WAS NOT stealing the Bible! He was very confrontational. He was the only NEGATIVE factor to our stay here.Rooms: Very cleanSafety: We felt very safe here, other than the maintenance man harassing me.Food & drinks: Good breakfast.”

“Stayed here for one night for work in the area. Newly renovated and comfortable. The room was clean and had all you need. The morning breakfast was adequate and the attendants were cheery and pleasant, even at 6:00am!A couple good restaurants and convenience store within walking distance. Highly recommend!”

“Rooms have a very modern feel to them.. the layout is different from your typical hotel room. Desk staff was attentive and very nice. Has an in house bar and ample parking. Right near the college! WAY less expensive than the Hilton next door, where I have stayed in the past for work.”

“Highly satisfied. Well trained, friendly, helpful staff both at the registration desk and in the back office. I was part of a nearly 30 person group that stayed here during the second week of February 2024. Working with this hotel's staff - from getting early quotes, through securing a block of rooms, fixing booking mistakes, overcoming challenges of participants not having (functioning) credit cards to secure the reservation, last minute changes, etc. Carlene and Christy could not have been more wonderful to work with. They always communicated quickly, were always client oriented, and found solutions instead of complaining about problems. Stellar!”
