The first vet we were taking him to prior to coming here were sending us home after just giving him anti nausea shots telling us we needed to relax because his xrays and bloodwork showed that everything was fine. After weeks of them giving us the run around and him getting worse we came here for a second opinion. In five minutes of the Doctor looking at his xrays she told us he needed emergency surgery because the xrays indeed showed a intestinal blockage. Within an hour he was in surgery.
I could feel how much the Doctor here actually cares and prioritizes the lives of animals and is extremely reasonable and compassionate. She was sweet caring and incredibly reliable with her level of knowledge. right after his surgery she called me and asked if i wanted to see him via FaceTime since i was at work; just amazing.
The staff were friendly, comforting and sweet.
Its like when you finally find a good mechanic whos not trying to rip you off and has a true love for cars…its like finding a gem. I will never take my pets anywhere else. We live almost 2 hours away and have a shitty car but i dont care this is where my pets will be seen moving forward even if i gotta take a bus or uber there.
Thank you for helping Kai and helping us ill never forget this.

Three years after Blue’s original training with Calypso Canines, I can confidently say that choosing them was one of the best decisions I made for him.
Because of my military commitments, I spent a long period away from Blue, and naturally I wondered how much of his training he would still remember. I contacted Mike and explained the situation. Instead of simply telling me to purchase another program, he invited Blue and me back for a refresher session and did it at no charge.
What happened next genuinely impressed me.
Within minutes, Blue began responding to the same commands he had learned years earlier. It was almost as if someone had flipped a switch and brought all of that training back to the surface. Watching him work made me realize something important: good dog training is not about temporarily making a dog behave—it is about creating communication and discipline that can last.
But what impressed me even more was Mike himself.
Three years later, he still took the time to help us. He answered my questions, worked with me so I could properly reinforce Blue’s training at home, and even contacted me afterward to ask how Blue was doing. That kind of follow-up says everything about the character of a business.
There are many places willing to train your dog. Finding people who still care about you and your dog years after they have already been paid is much harder.
If you are considering Calypso Canines but feel nervous about making the decision, I completely understand that feeling. Based on my experience with Blue, however, I would tell you this: give them the opportunity to show you what they can do.
Three years later, the training is still there—and so is their support.

Her patience, knowledge, and genuine love for dogs really show in everything she does. Louie has made great progress, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve also boarded Louie with Ariana, which is a huge plus since I travel frequently for business. It’s great knowing he’s in such good hands while I’m away. Highly recommend Ariana for both training and boarding. She’s wonderful! 5 stars!!!!

They are even able to make them dye free and accommodate other dietary needs. Not only are they beautiful, but everybody always raves about how great the cakes are. They are extremely responsive and will go above and beyond!

Honestly I could never go anywhere.. my dog wouldn’t let me. Anytime I say “Kevin” or do you want to go play with your friends”, Kingsley knows and he immediately gets excited! We were allowed to walk though and look and then Sophia took us to the puppy palace. We met Paws and we decided that he was the one. We went back to the office and the process was quick and efficient. We left with our new addition and one happy dog. Great organized operation that takes care of all the animals on property.

14444 Okeechobee Boulevard, LoxahatcheeBig Dog Ranch is a dog rescue, rehabilitation and adoption facility for dogs (only). Some cats are in residence, but not for adoption. We adopted our dog Lucy from B.D.R. They have areas dogs you want to check out can spend time with you. We looked at several before we adopted. We went back today to support and see the beagles they took in from the Ridglan Company which was a medical research puppy mill treating treating the puppies like rats. With a strong volunteer base, they are domesticated, vaccinating and moving the (many) beagles towards their forever homes. The adoption fees for dogs range from $100 to $600.
