After everything I had experienced before finding him, I had become deeply disillusioned with conventional veterinary care. Too often, my experience had felt focused on managing symptoms with medications rather than asking why the illness was occurring in the first place. I was looking for someone who would consider the whole animal and be willing to think beyond a standard protocol.
What makes Dr. Dym so unique is that he has educated himself in both conventional and holistic veterinary medicine. He understands the value and limitations of each approach and, in my experience, looks at the individual animal rather than simply treating a diagnosis.
I consulted with him about my cat, Chairmann, who had been diagnosed with IBD, pancreatitis, and early-stage kidney disease. He had been experiencing recurring episodes of vomiting and periods when he would stop eating for several days. The previous treatment recommendation included steroids and a conventional kibble diet. Because I have always taken a more holistic approach to health, I was uncomfortable simply suppressing the symptoms without exploring what might be contributing to them.
From my first consultation with Dr. Dym, the difference was striking. He listened. He asked detailed questions about Chairmann’s symptoms, behavior, diet, history, and overall disposition. I never felt as though we were just treating a set of laboratory values or putting a temporary bandage over the problem. I felt that he was genuinely trying to understand Chairmann as an individual and support his body as a whole.
Just as important to me is Dr. Dym’s integrity in the way he approaches treatment. I never felt that his recommendations were driven by simply managing symptoms or selling a product or service. His focus was on finding an approach that made sense for Chairmann as an individual and that could genuinely improve his health rather than simply suppressing the symptoms. That is the kind of veterinary care I had been searching for.
Before we started working with Dr. Dym, Chairmann was often hunched over and withdrawn, clearly uncomfortable and not acting like himself. There were times when he would simply sit quietly, withdrawn and clearly not feeling well. Seeing him that way was heartbreaking.
Since working with Dr. Dym, the change in Chairmann has truly been like night and day. His appetite has returned and remained strong, his vomiting has become much less frequent and far less severe, he has gained back much of the weight he had lost, his coat is softer and shinier, and most importantly, he is behaving much more like himself again — happy, playful, and enjoying his life. The improvement has been truly amazing to witness, and I cannot fully express how grateful I am to see him feeling so much better.
For pet parents who believe there should be room for both conventional diagnostics and a more holistic, individualized approach to healing, Dr. Dym is someone worth knowing. Finding a veterinarian who is knowledgeable, open-minded, compassionate, and guided by integrity is not something I take for granted. I am deeply grateful that I found him and that Chairmann is under his care.

My young horse was diagnosed with pretty significant kissing spine and ultimately I decided to send him to Dr Davis based on his expertise and many recommendations around the country. My horse ended up having 7 processes shaved and staying at the clinic just shy of two weeks (personal decision) before shipping home. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better situation. From the in barn care to surgery, post surgery updates and rehab protocols, it was a great experience all the way around! I would send any of my horses back in a heartbeat and cannot thank the entire team enough for all they did!!
