“The room (sink) was dirty upon admittance and took over 24 hours for them to come clean it. My husband ended up cleaning it and it was pretty gross. The TV was also broken but they quickly replaced upon request. The amenities are hard to beat for the price. They charge up front $50 for incidentals and $25 per night for parking.”

“Loved staying at the Portofino Bay! It’s definitely pricey but you can’t beat the location. You can just walk right over to Universal Studios/Islands or take the boat over. Both great options. The rooms are nice and spacious with very comfortable beds and includes basics like shampoo, body lotions etc. There are a variety of restaurants available, it was late when we got back so we just ate at the deli. Food was just ok but we got to sit outside and enjoy the nice lake view. Grabbed coffee nice and early along with some breakfast items at Cafe Espresso and we were able to start our day. Everyone we encountered was very nice as well. This will be our go to place for Universal going forward.”

“This is our second time staying at this hotel. We stay on the Rock Level and we find it worth it. A short walk or boat ride to city walk is fantastic. The hotel is very clean with a great pool area and friendly staff. If you are going to the Universal Parks this hotel is definitely worth a look. Great vibe here for adults and kids!”

“I loved my stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando Near Universal. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. I also loved seeing that it was pet friendly because it made the hotel feel welcoming for everyone, and it definitely made me miss my dogs at home. The staff here were some of the nicest people I have met so far while staying at hotels. Some seemed a little shy at first, but as soon as you talked to them, they were extremely kind, gentle, and helpful. I even gave positive feedback to a supervisor I met in the elevator because the service really stood out to me. The breakfast was fantastic. I loved that they had two egg options, egg bites and an egg patty, instead of the typical soggy hotel eggs. These were actually tasty. I also appreciated that you could use real plates and silverware both in the room and at breakfast. My room was huge, and the kitchenette was so convenient. The bed was clean, the pillows were extra comfortable, and the TV worked well, which is honestly a bigger plus than people realize because not every hotel has nice TVs. The property also had great views and a nice overall layout. The only thing I would change is removing the carpet in the elevator, because it had a smell from people and pets. Other than that, this was a 5/5 stay for me. Next time I come to Orlando, I will absolutely stay here again.”

“Great hotel. Everything was clean and in a safe and convenient location. Close to the action but still quiet. Good place to get a rest. DoorDash and uber eats delivers to the rooms, but there is also a restaurant in the hotel and a Denny’s within walking distance. There is a free shuttle to the universal parks, but we did not use it as uber was only $5-10. Staff were all very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.”

“This hotel is far from luxury and is old, but has got everything you need for a pleasant stay including a pool (good size) and small gym room. The rooms were very large with two double beds which were pretty comfy and a decent sized bathroom. The location of the hotel is the stand out point with it being close to so many bars, restaurants and theme parks in the vicinity. We also found the service at this hotel top notch with friendly, attentive staff. We had an issue with the water in our bathroom and the staff were extremely quick to get this sorted for us. Based on the price, location and staff, we’d definitely stay here if visiting Orlando again in the future. If visiting on a budget, I would recommend this hotel.”

“I’ve used two other duct cleaners in the past and this was by far the most thorough. They didn’t just vacuum — they mechanically agitated every inch of duct, cleaned the main trunk, and hand-wiped all the registers. They even found a child’s toy in one run! Airflow balance across the house is perfect now. These folks know what they’re doing.”

“Comfy bed. Loose dog in the hallway lunged at me and almost gave me a heart attack. Breakfast was busy and tables were dirty. Universal shuttle didn’t run in the afternoon. Getting to universal from here is a slog even though it’s “nearest”. I guess there’s no good way to get to universal from anywhere.”

“This is my favorite universal hotel by far. The only thing holding this place back is the lack of in park line perks you'd get at the portifino, hard rock, and royal pacific. But you get a good room, really cool pools which there are two that are really fun and a splash pad for the really little ones and other options. I've stayed at Disney, Gaylord palms, and the royal pacific, and a few Orlando area hotels and when I say this is my favorite I am not lying”

“Decent place to stay, but there isn’t much around the hotel. A lot of construction is going on nearby, so getting around requires taking a cab rather than walking. The breakfast was a downside for vegetarians there were no clear vegetarian or eggless options, and the staff wasn’t sure about the ingredients. Other than that, the stay was fine and works well for a short visit.”

“If looking for an affordable room located near Universal Studios, this is an ok place to consider. Just keep your expectations low. Very small, dated property. Free breakfast with basics, plastic utensils and disposable plates. Mediocre coffee, but with coffemate creamer. Pedestrian path to walk to Universal City, it could use some lighting at night, but it felt safe regardless. The hotel stored our luggage after check out, while we went and enjoyed the park. The hotel does have a shuttle to the park, but only one time for departure and pick up (around 8am and then 5pm). Affordable if just wanting a bed and shower, with a little food in the morning.”
