“If you shop at trader Joe's you start to develop favorites. Things that they carry that are proprietary to them or that just seem better than what you might pick up at a regular grocery store. For example, they have some very fine cheeses that you don't see elsewhere. They carry a brand of mineral water that I am very fond of and almost no one else carries it. Employees are helpful and their registers are always manned adequately. They always carry flowers and especially there is a great selection around Valentine's Day.”

“Detwiler’s is functionally similar to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. The price of food is about 10-20% higher than a neighborhood grocery, target, aldis etc. There are significantly less variety and food options than a typical grocery store, but the options are healthier, higher quality. Vegetables and fruits are fresh and often local. Prices are typically high. 3 for $2 corn. Down the street it is $3 for a $1. Quality seems a touch better than other markets, but we have definitely had to return moldy items before. The to-go sandwich portions are disappointing. Very disappointing. We bought pricy brisket sandwiches and they had two thin slices of meet. There were other issues with the to-go section but I’ll leave it there. The ice cream is excellent! Great prices. Truly Generous portions. They carry local Daken Dairy milk. Free samples around the store which is very nice. Able to try their homemade dips or items before purchasing. Adequate number of employees. Can always find someone if you need help. Added a star as we’ve been many more times and had good experiences. This is a fun grocery store. Almost as interested in grocery shopping as I am when I go to Stew Leonard’s.”

I informed her it was my first time there and she took the time to then let me know how her discount store worked. We ended up having great conversation along with finding very low prices lower prices than Aldi's or save a lot could ever dream of. I live in Bradenton but will definitely be driving to Sarasota to continue to go to the store. Dry goods to snacks pasta drinks some things in the refrigerator like milk and eggs and I believe cheese bacon along with hygiene items miscellaneous and even some clothing definitely a gem of a store and I cannot wait to go back”

“Publix is built above the parking garage. You either go up an escalator or elevator to reach the store. There’s parking in the parking lot as well as in the garage. The deli staff is friendly. The store is clean and fairly well stocked. The fried chicken and wing selection was sparse so I had to wait 25 minutes for the wings to be cooked.”

“I have been a customer at Piccolos for almost 5 years now since I moved down here from NYC. Being Italian, it was very hard to finally find a place that reminded me of the deli I used to go to in the Bronx. We eat here often and take food to go all the time. Recently, I had a party for my son’s 30th and instead of cooking all the food, I catered some from Piccolos and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the compliments from family and friends were amazing. One family member said that the pizza was the best that they’ve had since moving down here, another wanted only the chicken parmigiana and raved about it. My favorite was the 4 foot hero that I ordered especially for this party. We had 2 feet made with chicken cutlet, mozzarella and roasted red peppers and the other 2 feet was the DomD. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! We love Piccolos and the owners and staff are just some of the best people to deal with. If you are having a party, want some lunch, or want to bring home some of the freshest food (cooked and uncooked) this is the place you are looking for! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH AGAIN!! :)))”

“A clean and convenient Publix with friendly staff We visited this Publix several times at different times of the day, and we really enjoyed our experience. We especially appreciated that the posted opening hours were consistently accurate. Most of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. The store was generally clean, well-organized, and not overly crowded, which made shopping comfortable. We used the deli section quite a bit during our visits and were very happy with it. There is also a small seating area next to the store where you can sit and eat. It was clean and comfortable, and there were charging outlets available, which was a nice bonus. The restrooms were also spacious and very clean, which we really appreciated. One small thing we noticed was that there was quite a bit of frost buildup inside one of the ice cream freezers. It looked like that particular freezer could use some maintenance. And one fun thing to mention: sushi is $5 on Wednesdays! We tried it, and honestly, it was pretty decent for $5. 😊 Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would definitely visit this Publix again.”

The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
