I called ahead of time, and Paul was incredibly helpful in answering all my questions with direct transparency. When I arrived, he professionally addressed my needs and assisted me in finding the perfect comfortable running shoes. “The little woman and I are going to Scotland and we expect to be walking about a lot. We thought, "maybe we should invest in some good walking shoes." Talking with nurses and photographers, I was informed that the best shoes for all day walking are "expensive athletic shoes" - aka sneakers. A friend of mine has a daughter who is a runner and she told me about Fleet Feet. So, we went to Downtown Lawrenceville (DTL) and popped in to see what was what.
We were warmly greeted by Stephanie who asked us some questions and then set about evaluating our feet and gait. It's all very high tech and in no time we were flipping through the results on a tablet seeing our exact measurements and shape and pressure points. Stephanie then brought us an assortment of sneakers in the right size (I didn't know my true size!) and also some orthopedic inserts. We narrowed down the options until we found ourselves wearing the most comfortable and supportive shoes I could have ever imagined.
I whispered to my wife, "There's no way we can afford these." But I was wrong. Two pairs of shoes, two inserts, and six pairs of socks and we were well within our budget. They weren't cheap, but I've paid more for dress shoes.
Stephanie was so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. If you go there, ask for her. Tell her Brandon and Alisha sent you. She probably won't remember us, but it'll sound cool.
We are so excited for our trip and I'll post an update to let you know how well the shoes do.

“This is the best running shoe store on the planet, I’m convinced. Honestly I have been a nightmare to find a good fit for (difficult feet that are very different shapes/sizes) that will accommodate a litany of old injuries and health issues. Darby has been along for the entire rollercoaster ride and Taylor has been a huge help too. I live over an hour away in rural northeast Georgia and it is so well worth the trip. My husband and his mom have always run a lot and they swear by fleet feet and I am the same way now. I will never buy running shoes anywhere else, period. “I placed a order on line and when I contacted the store to get a update on the order after not receiving any notification for 4 1/2 hours after I placed the order. The male representative that answered the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful. He hung up the phone on me after I asked would my order be ready by a certain time. Which was 6 or more hours after I placed the order. If my podiatrist didn’t suggest these particular Skechers to help a pinched nerve in my foot I would have definitely returned the shoes and went somewhere else but o was in too much pain after a steroid injection.”

“My daughter had a job interview this week so we went shopping for a suit and dress shoes. We went to Belk's, Macy's and JC Penney first and not one employee stopped to ask us what we needed. In fact no one even said hello or acknowledged our presence. On our way to Dillard's I noticed the colorful clothes in WHBM. We stopped and Miss Que and Miss Hope greeted us, helped us find some great choices, and gave us the best customer service I have had in a long time. I am old enough to remember when department stores were known for their service. It is wonderful to know that WHBM has found some gems who understand how to treat a customer. The suit fit perfectly and we will definitely be back!!!”
