“I give it 4 stars because the admission fees do not give you access to all of the exhibits. Paying extra on top of the already high prices is ridiculous. The information I did see was good and educational for children. There were a variety of displays and activities, although I just couldn't justify paying extra to see everything. The giant space was well used and maps were provided to help you navigate. The toy making was not available when we were there. Overall, it's a good place to take children and you can spend several hours there.”

“I’m normally a little skeptical regarding escape rooms but I played along for some coworker team bonding… except this escape room was actually fun, interesting, and challenging! We had a really fun time and Agent Storm was very attentive and thorough in all of our explanations. Thanks for a fun afternoon outing, Agent Storm! The puzzles in the room we did were both attainable and challenging, and I loved hearing about things we had missed at the end of the session. We had a great time and the session was very well designed!”

“This is such a special place, I can't say enough nice things about our experience! We hosted my teenage daughter's birthday here and she had such a memorable time. The space itself is ample and can be customized to your event. The vintage pieces add a special warmth and charm. Yet, the cherry on top is the owner Myriam. Speaking of guests, everyone had an incredible time! Devin created an atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We had so many people that said they couldn’t stop dancing.The Ovation team was on top of every detail, from the setup to the flow of the evening. “We hosted our third annual NA Day at Loft on Lake, and it was fantastic! The venue is beautiful, immaculate, and has all the vibes for a perfect event. Jill Garrett, the venue coordinator, was thoughtful, quick to respond, and most helpful throughout the planning process. She oversaw the event from beginning to end—seamless! I highly recommend Loft on Lake for any event!”

“I had never been to the Chopin Theatre before. We saw the one man play, "Royko: The Toughest Man in Chicago." The theatre was fantastic. There literally wasn't a bad seat in the house. The people working there were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Cozy and intimate apty describe the Chopin. Parking can be challenging, but there is plenty of street parking around the theatre. Just download the ParkChicago app and feed the meter right from the lobby. It was a great experience and I would definitely visit again.”

“Loved it! I was there during thanksgiving break at it wasn’t busy at all giving me time to browse mostly everything. I bought the ticket online literally 30 min before going in, free maps at the entrance will help you navigate the building without the needs of a guide. The gift shop is also great ??”

“We had our wedding reception only at Greenhouse loft at end of March 2026.

We did get very lucky with the weather and so as a result were able to do a last minute switch on the day of to do our cocktail hour outdoors! The team worked quickly and efficiently with our caterers to make sure everything was set up outside even though we had previously decided on having our event in the gallery.

The team and event liaisons had great communication prior to the event. We did a 2nd walk through prior to our final walk though, and this was easy to coordinate. At our final walk through, the Greenhouse Lofts team was prepared with pertinent questions and last minute detail clarifications, and made us feel at ease about planning our day. On the day of, the event liaisons took care of coordinating decorations, security on site, AV, and all the details. Also a photo booth and graphic designer are included in the venue fee, which our guests really enjoyed!

Also included with the venue rental was a Style Matters DJ, and DJ Duke was incredible in keeping the vibes right and the energy high throughout the night. He was our DJ for the entire event for a total of 7 hours and did not miss a beat. He showed us a behind the scenes of how he makes playlists/mixes and was very organized in communication prior to the event.

Would recommend Greenhouse Lofts, Spencer and Duke for any event.”

“We got married at the Joinery in August 2025 and loved it. The space is beautiful and the vibe was exactly what we wanted. We were looking for something with character and that was naturally beautiful and interesting without too much added decor. Shay was wonderful to work with and the space worked perfectly for our guest count ~100. It was the first venue we toured and we knew immediately it was where we wanted to get married. We loved the indoor and outdoor spaces equally which was important to us. We loved the outdoor patio and it was even more built out by the time we got married, the speakeasy upstairs, and that we could BYOB alcohol.

The cherry on top is the Millhouse next door which we also rented for the weekend and was where our immediate families stayed and I got ready morning of. Having that space allowed us to bring all of the decor and other items we needed next door in advance and our wonderful coordinator was able to set up everything day of and bring it back at the end of the night. I'm not sure how we would have managed the transport of all these things otherwise, so this was an added benefit we hadn't considered in advance. Having everyone next door also made it so easy throughout the weekend and the house is spacious and well kept. Shay and the Joinery team were wonderful and we have nothing but good things to say about the Joinery!”

“It had been many years since my last visit. Spanning three floors, it seems Dalvage One has found a balance between being an architectural salvage location and an event space. Much of the first and second floors is dedicated to weddings and parties. Still a very fun placevto explore in.”

“Alison was exceptional in her role as both wedding planner and Event Manager at The Fairlie. With a large wedding of 270 guests and an equally large bridal party, her organization, patience, and calm presence were invaluable from start to finish. She handled countless details, timelines, emails, questions, and last-minute changes with professionalism and grace, always making us feel supported and confident. Her deep knowledge of The Fairlie allowed her to offer smart guidance, creative problem-solving, and thoughtful suggestions that truly enhanced the planning process.
The Fairlie itself was a stunning venue and accommodated our large guest count beautifully, including a spacious dance floor that stayed packed all night. The venue team was also incredibly accommodating in allowing us to deliver décor and supplies well in advance of the wedding—especially helpful given the holiday timing—which lifted a significant burden and helped the entire weekend run more smoothly. As an evening wedding in January, the atmosphere was especially magical—the entire space glowed with candlelight and felt warm, romantic, and elegant despite the winter cold outside. Alison and her team executed every detail seamlessly, ensuring the ceremony and reception flowed. We could not have asked for a better venue or a more capable, caring professional to guide us through such an important day.”

“I attended a wedding here and the food place was a very good venue. The food was great but I wasn't sure if it was catered in or made on site. Service was very good. A wedding I will remember for a long time. The bride and groom came down the fire pole as they entered the reception.”

“Brought my daughter here and she had a great time. The space is clean, the setup makes sense, and there’s a good mix of things for kids to do without it feeling overwhelming. I liked that I could actually sit down for a bit while she played and still see her the whole time.

“What a hidden gem in Chicago. I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding here and I loved the exposed brick and timber loft. A modern yet industrial space that can fit a variety of vibes (as you choose the decor!)

The loft feels spacious as everyone transitioned from room to room between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. The high ceiling just gives your guests and your photos space to breath.

As a photographer: the space allowed me to move around and not feel cramped while taking photos.

Location is great. The couple got ready at a downtown hotel along the river and we easily made it to Venue West. Along the way I chose a couple of photogenic spots for their portraits.”

“Amazing studio with amazing instructors! This is my second session of beginners ballet and I absolutely love it. The instructor, Megan, is encouraging as well attentive to every student. Not to mention, she's extremely talented and knowledgeable in her craft. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn from scratch, or a seasoned vet looking for someone to help you grow further, I cannot recommend Dovetail Studios enough!”

“Huge convention center! Very well maintained, good location near public transportation. I was here for MRO Americas, a big commercial aviation show. Disappointed with restrooms though, only at one location so you have to walk a lot to get there.”
