“Not a regular Aldi shopper, went with a friend. So if some observations are "standard Aldi" you'll know that. Newer store, very bright and clean. Wide aisles very nice for navigating the wide carts. I realized that they basically don't carry typical American brands, it's private label or something like that. My friend needed mostly produce, and the selection & quality were good. There was no stock out for a deep-discount item she came for. The seasonal aisle was unkempt but had an interesting variety. Stealth hit: Winking Owl wine...quaffable and dirt cheap. I was happy to learn that they accept credit cards (you still need a physical quarter if you want a cart!). But there were no pack-your-own boxes when we checked out, happily my friend had a lot. Overall pricing was sharp, and tho selection was limited, I didn't feel like I was shopping in a heavy-discount place.”

“Love this location took me one hour to get here on bus from Skokie but was completely worth it. Only went for the food court on the second floor! I orders myself spicy pork, that was delicious got it with great side of fish cakes and kimchi. I did not know what the third side was but it was ok. The place is big and the staff was great! Also will not hurt your wallet like some Chicago location that charger like 20 dollars plus for spicy pork.”

“My favorite place to buy spices, but also some more exotic fresh fruit and vegetables. Very good prices, good selection and friendly staff. Occasional language problems usually easy solved with google translator or friendly Asian customers. I have discovered many new tastes and aromas thanks to this place.”

“Absolutely great family grocery store. Well stocked, super clean and knowledgeable staff. They have such a diverse line of healthy products at a good prices too! I found some awesome new brands and items I never saw before and they were awesome due to a recommendation from their staff. Also have a wide variety of fresh produce and a great sushi and bakery section. If you need some pre-made fresh meals they have coolers of them and such a variation with a good portion for reasonable prices. Love their dairy selection and also snacks for school if you have food restriction guidelines. They also send out an email with weekly specials. We don't buy meat and fish from them because we only eat organic grass-fed to finish meats and wild caught which we get elsewhere. Wonderful store.”

“The BEST Jewel around. Shelves are fully stocked. Produce laid out in a organized manner. Easy to find products. Best of all the staff.I go out of my way to shop this store. Ask a question of any employee and you get an answer. No hassle when asking for or using rain checks. Or when trying to find a product. Simply put this Jewel sets a very high standard for a grocery store. Too bad every Jewel wasn’t run as efficiently and service oriented as this place. Kudos to management. You do it right!”

“When it comes to customer service, Osco Pharmacy and their personnel have been outstanding.Unlike other pharmacies I could mention, the fine folks behind the pharmacy counter have always been so kind, patient & very professional in answering any questions I have; furthermore they have never been condescending in requiring information or asking questions of me.We should remember that when certain medications are not available due to backorder, that the problem is generally with Pharmaceutical Drug maker and not with the Pharmacy and Pharmacist, nor their staff who assist them.”

“This location is well worth the 8 minute drive from the Waukegan Rd location. The store is much cleaner, well stocked, and friendlier then the one 8 minutes away. It has also been remodeled which is a huge plus. It is is large store with a large seasonal section at the front of the store, ample check outs and self check outs too. There's always someone around to help out, and that's not the case for the other location. All in all, one of the better Jewel stores in the area”

“I used to get steaks from Costco, but with a few trips to wildfire, it becomes my only place to get steak and lamb.At first, I was a little worried because everything is frozen, but man, it it fresh after thaw. Plus, the meat has been trimmed well and clean up. Either the steak or chicken, it’s always nicely presented. Very satisfied with the meat quality.”

“Jewel-Osco has it all. From farm fresh fruits and vegetables, to great selection of bread, fresh deli, there's even an abundance of plants and flowers, not to mention an amazing selection of local wines and craft beers. It's truly a one-stop-shop. Clean, tidy, stocked, organized, helpful, polite teammates. Managed and operated by professionals. Excellent customer service especially when I ask for something that's on a certain isle you can rest assured know confidently from my review they will satisfy those needs especially when you need to finish your grocery list that you need to abide by. All of the check-out staff are really nice and go out of their way to help”

“Really? You want me to review a "Jewel". Okay fine. This Jewel is actually one of the nicest Jewels I've ever seen. It has a Starbucks inside and the store is very nice clean and appealing. A very large selection of groceries and the staff is friendly and courteous.”

“What you expect from a grocery, store but with some only-here items. For example this is where my daughter's just got their Nick's Minecraft Ice-cream. Can't find it anywhere else.”

“It's sushi Thursday yummy. This store is clean nice to shop in and many of the employees have been working for jewel for years. The reason I mentioned the sushi is because it taste better then Mariano's on Wauken rd and Willow road and much better then Whole Foods on WAukegan road ( which is also $2 more expensive then other stores). I left my iPhone in a cart and the worker turned it in. That's true kindness. Their bakery department can decorate cakes beautifully to funny and of course their fried Chicken is good.”

“I went to Mariano's to look for a retirement gift for my coworker around 9:00pm and was in the flower department looking to have someone blow up a balloon for me and Dawn popped out of nowhere and was the most sweetest woman that I have ever encountered with. She didn't even work in that specific department and still found a way to help me out and mind you she's new to Mariano's as well! She helped me pick out some flowers as well and walked me over to the register to check out. Thank you so much Dawn for making my last minute shopping a blast!!”

“I love Mariano’s. It’s like the best combination of Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Prices are fair (and even lower than Jewel Osco) but the quality is high, and selection of products is great. Lines are not too bad even on the weekends.”
