“My business depends on a post office that works as one should, and this is the best post office I have experienced. They don't have a self-help kiosk or a big bin for packages, but they quickly scan in prepaid packages that you place on the counter. More importantly, they have some of the best customer service in Lansing. Bob is always helpful and Roscoe is a day-brightener!”

“This is an updated review, from my previous 1-star, negative review. I am happy to say that the other individuals from both East Chicago locations, have now retired!! Now, we have new younger staff. Forgive me if that’s a horrible comparison, but then generation we will in today encourages proper communication. These new people carry on a conversation, they are friendly, and they are definitely there to help you; they are not upset or bitter (yet)! I hope these individuals continue being the familiar faces for the years to come, even if I don’t go to the post office that many times in a year. Thank you, upper management, for taking the time to see who was already working for you, and hopefully see this position as a promotion… customer service, is not easy!! “Service is very quick and employees are pretty knowledgeable of services offered. Every time I come to this location, even when there is a line I'm always in and out. Among many this is by far the best post office that I've visited yet.”

“Parking can be a challenge at times since it’s located between resident homes. Best to use your hazard lights when parked in a non parking spot. The closer it gets to 3pm and closing time theres more traffic due to 2 schools being let out so be patient. The full time employee that works there is amazing. She’s very informative and is straight to the point. Treat her with respect and kindness & you’ll get treated the same.”
“I personally never had a problem since I've been going there which I have been going for the past several months 7 months to be exact and I never had a problem the only concern I have is that the post office is so small when it is a lot of people in there they stand too close to you that's why I go as early as I can to get in I've never had a problem anytime I go in there I'm not in there for a very long I'm going to get the guy's name and post it here when I go in there today have a wonderful day everyone if that doesn't work for you maybe you should find another post office”
“I have been going here for 16 years and never had any issues at all.Sometimes when customers cant get their way they do become angry and leave bad comments.I know because I worked for a different Post Office for 38 years so I know how customers can be.keep up the good work HIGHLAND POST OFFICE!!!”
“I had package delivered to my neighbor house (my original mail Lady was training someone new) they swore me up and down they didn’t have it my mail carrier pulled right up pointed the person out who she gave it to and got my package back every item I love her for that……….”

“Nice little low visibility US post office at the north end of strip mall off Ridge Road near Calumet Avenue. Has all the usual offerings you would expect, and it was a nice clean facility. When we dropped in there were two operators working the counter, and they were efficient and very friendly.I had made a passport appt. - which the system did not show, but they processed me anyway. Some reluctance to accept my military ID (which post office main web site says they accept). Many post office locations get bad reviews, but this one was very nice.”
“they do the best they can. i used to work in the post office in Germany in the Army. and unless youve ever had that job you couldnt know how hard it gets. when you have people who expect you to mail things with the wrong info, etc, and then get mad if something theyre expecting in the mail gets delivered later than they think. it all takes TIME PATIENCE AND ACCURACY in order for a item to be mailed to someone, if this country would realize that ,mayb there would be less anger and more understanding.,”
“EVERYTIME I frequent this place, I'm treated with such high levels of respect, & they helped me set up my p.o. box. In thankful. The lady whose picture is shown here is ALWAYS pleasant, & helpful. Even the men are courteous, & complimentary. I'm thankful that we all have a postoffice near us. The place is neat, & have an array of shipping boxes, & gift cards. “The lady who usually works here is always professional and helpful to me. If I have a question, she answers it the best she can. She’s human, so I know sometimes there’s more work to do than she has hands. I couldn’t do her job. A lot of rude customers come to this location and talk to her any type of way, and expect that “customer is always right” mentality. Hopefully they get some additional help at this location.”
“I have only been here one time. My visit was simply to purchase stamps. The lady behind the counter could not have been nicer. I really like how the building looks too. The outside is quasi-futuristic and is an architectural wonder to me.”

“A shout out to Frank at this facility for being very pleasant, informative and helpful! No, they don't have anyone to answer the phone. Carriers are working 12+ hour days. It's going to be 95 degrees and sunny today and 20 employees out of 39 called off. Thank you to those who show up and do their best!”
“I usually dread going to the post office because of the long lines and customer service. But today was different, and it’s all thanks to Monique.
From the moment I stepped into her line, I noticed something refreshing: every single person who left her counter walked away smiling. When it was my turn, I quickly understood why. Monique greeted me with a warm smile, treated me like a person instead of just another transaction, and made the entire experience feel surprisingly pleasant.
She was friendly, personable, and genuinely kind which goes a long way when you are running errands. She even gave me a helpful reminder to track an online order with a tricky name, which was thoughtful and smart. Monique reminded me how big of a difference great customer service can make. I shop and ship often, so having someone like her on the other side of the counter creates a calmer, happier experience. I know it’s not an easy job, and people can be overwhelming, but her energy truly stood out and it deserves to be recognized.

“The staff at this location are always nice and friendly when ever I need to ask a question or need a service, especially Mr Thomas. As with most jobs dealing in public service and in particular this post office, there are times when services are not at their best but I attribute this to short staffing and staff turnover in the area of Mail Carriers. It it takes time to acclimate to an experienced mail carrier. Let us all move in the spirit of patience and understanding.”
“It’s been twice that someone has sent me something to the wrong address and this staff always tracks it down asap and corrects my mistake. Not sure why all the negative reviews but I’ve been here for 3 years and haven’t had one issue with our mail, thanks for the great service, from the post office team to the delivery team ?? .”
“I have lived in Hyde Park since 1988 and having a post office in walking distance from my home is something I value. Considering the constant stress under which they have been working, particularly during the height of the pandemic, I think everyone should be grateful that they are still on the job.”
“The young lady working at the front desk here was so helpful! I haven't mailed anything in close to a decade. I do everything by computer. So when I needed to mail a certified letter, I, sadly was completely lost and confused. Instead of getting frustrated or an attitude with my ignorance to the situation, she repeated the instructions several times of what I should be doing and just did it when I still didn't understand lol. The only downside was they didn't have any envelopes in stock on the day I went, so I had to buy a padded package. However, for the patience she had with me, it was worth it! I should've gotten her name but great job!”
“The front desk rep did a great job managing customer needs. While I was there, some complained about only one window being open—but the rep efficiently handled multiple tasks and cut the line down by 75%. My visit was longer due to a mail hold mistake I made, but thankfully everything's back on track. Dealing with customers face-to-face isn’t easy, (especially during heatwaves) so I really appreciate the effort from both the in-store staff and my reliable mail carrier. I’m sad to be moving, but grateful for three years of consistent service”

The whole process was fast and problem free. Be nice to our fantastic federal civil servants, especially during the nonsense that is going on in our government right now. Skip the lines at other offices that may be closer to your location. Enjoy a visit to the quaint downtown of Whiting Indiana and this old fashioned Post Office.”
