“Absolutely perfect venue for a gathering. The owners worked with us to block rooms and were able to utilize a meeting room with a bar for a surprise birthday party. The location hosted 40 people and 15 rooms along with the perfect heated pool after party relaxation. Call these guys and stay away from the bloated pricing of the big big hotels.”

“Great stop among my business travels. Close to multiple shops and restaurants easy to walk. They have a happy hour with small bites and beers available in the afternoon. Gym is FREEZING but big enough to get things done. Max dumbbell weight is 50 lbs. Single-ply toilet paper. Room had a kitchen and lounge setup that made my stay easy. I’ll be back.”

“Nice hotel, service was excellent. Transportation to any downtown location with shuttle service, just tip driver. Breakfast on weekend was much better than weekdays. Reasonable price about $21 per person. Pool, exercise on site was very nice. Some panhandlers were slightly annoying around hotel area. Enjoyed are week long stay, would stay here again.”

Hyatt members and booked with the free night on my husband's account but they wouldn't let me use it since he wasn't there, which has never been a problem in the past. Overall room was pretty clean, but there was a build up of dust/dirt all around the ceiling vent over the closet that should've been cleaned.”

I've stays in the extended room twice and I'd do it again if needed. The owner is on call 24/7 and will address any problems or concerns promptly. “Even though the staff including Lori were exceptional, the hotel itself is in great need of renovation and just some good old TLC. The carpet was new in my room as well as the tub and shower, but the a/c was not working so I requested to be moved to a different room. The cleanliness of the 2nd room did not meet my basic standards nor that of the Choice Brands. I did follow up with a personal letter to the owner and I received a very positive email back from a regional manager. I will hope to stay at this property again next time I am in this area.”

“The original Courtyard layout with an atrium. Rooms nicely updated with up to date furnishing. Still separate toilet, tub with shower in a closable separate area. A full closet with lots of hangers and an ironing board with iron (these seem to be disappearing in remodels). Microwave, mini fridge, large screen tv with streaming options, and lots of power outlets (AC, usb-a, usb-c) even next to the couch. Great staff, friendly and attentive. A small parking charge at $7/night. Overall a nice comfortable hotel, easy parking and good rates.”

“So I actually stayed here for about 7/8 weeks I believe. Jan to mar 2026 when I moved here recently. Had everything I needed and more than the previous numerous hotels I’d stayed in at a cheaper cost. Had a nice small kitchen, place was clean, heating/ac worked fine. I’ll honestly have fond memories of my time here while I settled in to the city before getting my apartment. The staff were really nice and helpful in any way they could be. I managed through those weeks without a car at that time also and it was useful to have some nearby things like gas station, places to eat at walkable distance and also a bus stop close by, which is only a few minutes walk if you cut through the hotel next door. This hotel was basically my first home after moving to Des Moines. If I have friends or family visit from the uk I’ll happily suggest this place to them. I’d moved the chair myself to that position since I knew I was going to be there for quite some time. Normally it’s out of the way in the corner.”

“I’ve done quite a bit of traveling over the past month, and although I haven’t had a chance to write many reviews yet, this hotel definitely stood out to me. First, they were kind enough to price match the online rate, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we arrived. They explained how to get to our room, provided the breakfast hours and Wi-Fi password, and even asked if there was anything we needed during our stay. The room was also better than I expected for a budget-friendly hotel. It was comfortable, clean, and provided everything we needed for our stay. What impressed me the most, however, was the breakfast. I’ve stayed at several hotels that advertise breakfast, only to be disappointed by the quality. That was definitely not the case here. There was a nice variety, and I actually enjoyed a little bit of everything—eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cinnamon-raisin bread, and, most importantly, a good cup of coffee. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay. The combination of friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, reasonable pricing, and a genuinely enjoyable breakfast made this hotel a great experience. I would gladly stay here again if I’m passing through the area in the future.”

“Rooms are very well kept but they really need to replace that luggage cart as well as at least a second one. Breakfast is decent. Sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, as well as usual waffles etc. They do need to leave more in a cup of foam coffee cups in the room. No water glasses at all. But at least the refrigerator has a freezer compartment unlike too many other locations that do not.”
