Typically I can find everything I need on my shopping list in this one store. While I love the Waukee store, I do miss having a Starbucks inside, but it makes sense because there is a free-standing store across the street. I loved the Prairie Trail store in Ankeny because it seemed to be larger, but I could be wrong. The only thing I find disappointing is how Hy-Vee like so many other retailers seems to be pushing to the self-check lanes. How can I find a "Friendly Smile in every aisle" if I am dealing with a machine? No thanks.”

“This is my first experience at this location. I’m staying at the hotel next door so I’ve made at least three visits. Each visit was a pleasant experience. The lady behind the counter, with the glasses, was very nice and had excellent customer skills. The store was clean, well stocked and had a few good deals on beverages. I didn’t get a chance to purchase anything from coffee shop next door, but if I get motivated I’ll try it out. I did buy two drinks (pictured) that are supposed to be an in-house brand. I’ll update this review about the drinks once I try them.”

At first, it was a headache because I had to switch my Kum & Go rewards over to Maverick Adventure Club which went smoothly but when I tried scanning my Maverick number, I kept getting an error. The Iowa retailer, the third-largest convenience store operator in the country, built its new three-year plan around three priorities: store growth, food and beverage expansion, and kitchen technology upgrades. The company plans to add 120 stores during the current fiscal year. Its previous plan, launched in 2023, delivered more than 500 new stores and earned the company a spot in the S&P 500.
