“Jimmy at the front desk made my day
I checked in at 1am after a hard day at work, and Jimmy at the front desk greeted me in with a smile. Never during staying at numerous hotels in Boston for a 4 month work trip have I experienced such hospitality and kindness, let alone at 1am in the morning.
The rooms and facilities are undoubtedly pristine, and worth more than a mention, but the hospitality and comfort of this place is what truly sets it apart. My only regret is I should have tried the Langham earlier”

“An exceptional place for a vintage stay! Everything is perfect: the decoration, the rooms with their vinyl turntable, quiet, clean and spacious, the breakfast, the heated swimming pool, and the friendly, helpful, smiling staff. All close to all amenities! We will come back! Well done!”

“Very nice boutique hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Nearby activities: I was in town for the Celtics home opener. TD Garden is across the street from the hotel.

Walkability: See above. There are plenty of restaurants and access to the subway nearby.”

“Reviewing the spa. Every detail matters, from the moment you enter the spa, the slippers you slide into, the herbal tea you drink before stepping into the steam room, to the attentive masseuse who ensures you get a unique massage experience. Worth every dollar you spend.”

“My particular room was not good. No view and the closet door wouldn't open because it was too close to the bed. Front desk staff didn't appear to care at all that the restaurant and bar was closed for two night. That said, most other rooms looked much nicer than mine and the valet staff was very courteous and professional. Location is has good proximity to Back Bay and South End restaurants and bars and Prudential Center across the street. Twenty min walk to The Common and 45 to the North End.”

“Second time staying at The Dagney Hotel in Boston. The staff was so friendly especially Dina, she was welcoming and very accommodating. The place was well maintained. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Dina for making my stay memorable!”

“Great location for a visit to boston, midway between Back Bay and the North End, close to the Common. Convenient to the Freedom Trail and Beacon Hill. Luxury linens and friendly service. Exceptionally clean. We would definitely stay here again. Didn't use the gym,but we appreciated the bottled water and snacks in our room. Also, having a fridge in the room is a game changer.
I used the robe and slippers provided. I only wish there were more hooks for hanging the robe and towels! Only one towel bar didn't seem like enough. Also the partial shower door resulted in water on the floor every time we showered. We loved the motion-activated low blue lights that came on in the bathroom in the middle of the night. What a great idea!

We had a premium king with windows overlooking the street in front of the hotel. Always nice to have natural light.

The bar was always crowded, perhaps because they seem to give everyone free drink tickets when they arrive (wine and beer only). The coffee shop adjacent to the lobby is excellent but always had a line.

My other complaint is a lack of streaming apps. Only spotify and you tube were available. Would have been nice to have Amazon prime and Netflix so we could have had viewing options from our phones.

Overall, a great hotel.”

“its a perfect base, especially if you are taking Amtrak / Acela. Its literally minutes walk and is in a safe neighborhood in downtown Boston. You could walk along the wharf pathway to north end or check out the markets or walk to Boston commons (all within 20 minutes). They recognize your ihg status so all is well. I watched a game at TD garden so took an Uber back - no drama. Rooms are pretty huge and they carry byredo which is nice”

“If you are looking for where to stay, don't double think it and just book! I stood at Studio Allston for a work travel. After a long day traveling, and getting in late at night, it was nice to have such attentive staff and smooth check-in. The property is such a gem and has some beautiful spaces to sit and work and just check out. The rooms are large and spacious and any additional amenities the staff was so kind to provide. I got in after the kitchen was closed, but I got to have lunch the next day and it was AMAZING! I cannot and will not stop raving out the short ribs tacos and how they just melt in your mouth, seasoned to perfection, and so fresh. I am gluten intolerant and sometimes I risk it all, but it was nice to have a menu that I did not have to overthink what to eat. I would without a doubt return! Also, small thing, but parking was right on premise and very affordable.”

“Everything at The Liberty was exceptional. Very friendly and efficient concierge, everything was very clean, the rooms and bedding are elegant and thoughtful, and the food was absolutely stellar. I ate at Clink and can't remember the last time I had such good food. I very much look forward to the next time I get to stay here.”

“Giving this Place 5 Stars all around. I travel often and stay in alot of hotels across the Country and this is definitely in my top 3 all time stays, arguably Number 1. Everything was perfect and I can be very particular. The main reason are stay was so delightful was because of Evandro Monteiro who works the front desk. He was so accommodating and helpful to whatever I needed. He's was very kind ,pleasure to Have a conversation with and always as smile on his face. My daughter goes to school around the corner so I will be up in Boston often and this is the only place Im going to stay, Well Done W Boston!”

“First time staying at an Aloft hotel. The lobby was nice and the check-in process was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The "market" items for purchase could use a few more hearty late night options.

This hotel is right across the street from the convention center which was convenient as I was here for a conference. It's a relatively easy walk to get other stuff in the area.

My only real complaint is the noise. The room I was in had paper thin walls, I could hear every conversation happening in the hallway, in adjoining rooms and every time someone above me dropped something, etc...Also, although I couldn't hear the elevator going up and down, I could hear the dinging of the elevator throughout the night. Finally, the planes taking off and landing at all hours at BOS was pretty loud. In general, I didn't get great sleep. Also, please put up some clothes/coat hooks. The only hook was a single hook in the bathroom. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable.”

“Great location- walking distance to many places such as China Town, paul Revere House, boston tea party museum, aquarium. The observation desk is wonderful. You can do your laundry for free. The 1st floor is really nice. Breakfast is al la carte.”

“This location offers a beautiful view of the city, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff has been wonderful. The breakfast is delicious with made to order omelets, fruit, waffles, bacon, sausage and other items. And it is close enough that a short walk through the park and you can catch a train or bus to wherever you need to go. Definitely look forward to staying here again. The only negative experience we had was having a rep try to sell us on additional stays every single day.”

“Very convenient location right in downtown Boston. It’s a historic hotel, so expect smaller rooms and older facilities.
Charging $75 for early check-in is the highest I’ve encountered, and esp as rooms would only be available after 12pm (even with early check-in). I didn’t pay the fee.
Some staff (esp the old vanguard) are really lovely - they made the stay worthwhile!
Gym is pretty extensive and don’t miss the historical details in the basement!”

“The room was lovely and clean with a nice view. There was construction on the road out front that made arrival confusing but we managed. The area is quiet but close to many stores and restaurants within a few blocks. Flour is down the alley and very close. It's a little bit of a walk to the subway entrance from what we found. The Brownstone sports bar is nearby with delicious food as well as many steakhouses.

Rooms: The room was very nice and clean. The shower has a body jet which is a nice touch. The beds are not queens so be prepared if you have children sharing or you're sharing for a girls' trip.”

“The room I got was really good. Not so big, but for the budget, it was okay. Can’t really complain. Just had one bed and a tiny space but it was very clean and the bathroom was spacious and tidy as well. The person at the reception was very friendly and helpful. I generally liked the place. What I really loved about it was the location. Very strategic. Close to almost everywhere. The airport was just a 10 minutes drive.

Rooms: The room I got was a bit tiny but it was okay. Couldn’t really fault it other than the size

Safety: A generally safe area

Walkability: Generally a safe place to walk and close to so many amenities.

Food and drinks: They give out free coffee at the lobby”

“The only negative was that the room was a little small, with only about a foot of room between the end of the bed and furniture.

But the room was very comfortable, and very conducive to sleep. Everything else was good.

The staff at the desk was always very helpful and friendly. During check-in, while making a request, and check out, everybody was very helpful and friendly.

I didn't know what to expect in downtown Boston, but this was affordable but very pleasant. I would definitely stay again.”

“I recently stayed at this hotel, and the service truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we checked in, the staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and seamless.

It started with Ms. Tall at the front desk, who got our room ready early, which was such a relief. Later, I requested a refrigerator for our room, and Ms. Marilyn Davis from engineering kindly brought it up. She went above and beyond, thoughtfully looking for the best place to put it. About 15 minutes later, she came back to offer a solution to our space issue, noting that the room was a bit tight for my partner’s oxygen equipment and mobility scooter. She mentioned a larger room was available and that she’d check on the rate — which she believed would remain the same. She showed us the new room, and it was perfect, much more spacious and exactly what we needed. Marilyn took care of everything, from getting new keys to arranging a bellboy to help with our bags, even redirecting the laundry I sent out to the new room.

Lisa, the waitress at the lounge, was also wonderful and attentive throughout our stay, making sure we were well taken care of. And while I can’t remember all their names, every other staff member we encountered was friendly and professional.

A special mention for the recovery of my toiletry bag — including jewelry — that I left in our old room. I was worried it was gone since the staff didn't want to disturb the new guests. But to my surprise, the bag was returned to me the next evening with everything intact.

After an underwhelming experience at another Marriott location just the night before, this hotel completely turned things around for us. The level of care and attention to detail has made our stay memorable. The hotel may not be the cheapest, but the quality of service is genuinely top-of-the-line. Thank you to Ms. Tall, Marilyn Davis, Lisa, and all the other amazing staff who made our stay so wonderful.”

“Top name hotels in downtown Boston are $800+ a night, this place is at the finish line of the Boston Marathon across from Boston Library is half the price per night, with Cape Landwre next door. Highly recommend.

Walkability: On Boyleston Street downtown, so near everything. Amazing place.”

“We only spent one night. Very central place and perfect for getting around on foot.
The room was small and with a pillar in the middle ? very well furnished though!
One thing that was a little uncomfortable was the bathroom which, with the sliding door, did not guarantee a certain privacy!”

“Ok stay. Fairly decent location near to Boston Common and the Orange Tufts line makes this a great base for a stay. Good quality breakfast with a range of options and top notch service.

Quite a bit of building upgrade work being carried out during our stay. There is never a good time for this but we did not receive any notification and reception did not tell us on arrival.”

“Great, clean hotel within walking distance to Chinatown and Tufts Medical College. Rooms were small for 4 people, but it worked for 1 night! We asked for late checkout and then was locked out of our room despite the request. It was handled quickly, but that was our only issue. Breakfast is offered for $21 a person and only valet parking if you bring a car.”

“The staff at the entrance of the hotel were very helpful with recommending different events around town, and they’re really nice even after you’ve checked out. I had to go to the bathroom, which is locked by key, but I had already checked out an hour before. They were so kind to help me out. The location of the hotel is great if you like theater and plays because they’re all within close proximity.

The rooms are small just like most other hotels in the downtown Boston area, but the room was clean, and the bathroom was updated.

My only concern was the bed. The bed cover had stains on it, and all sheets/ cover were placed on the floor for when the room was supposed to be cleaned. However, instead of the bed cover being changed out, they took the same bed cover and placed it between two bed sheets (a makeshift duvet). To add to this, a new bed sheet was added that had stains. The small room I can handle, but a bed with stains doesn’t work and it’s clear they knew there was an issue. I’m unsure where the mentality comes in that anyone would want to sleep in a bed with stains in the sheets or cover.

Nearby activities: Theaters for plays/dance

Walkability: In a good location downtown and there are restaurants nearby.”

“Great location, on the same block as the BPL. Easy walk to the T and surrounding sights. Staff were kind, courteous, and welcoming. Bed was comfy, nice pillows, well appointed bathroom. Fours stars because the room was pretty small for the price.”

“Super convenient location in the heart of the Back Bay. They’re currently undergoing renovation, so the lobby is temporarily relocated to the left of the traditional entrance. The newly redecorated rooms are nicely appointed and the staff was friendly and accommodating. My friend was excited to have an in requested river view!”
