Owner was very friendly, explained the daycare and was very personable. The whole staff treated our dogs like they were their own. I would recommend and use them again if I was in the area!

120 Canal Street, SalemOver the years my family and I have always brought or cats to Hawthorne animal in Salem. The facility is clean and open. My cats see Dr. Reilly and we love her! She's excellent with the cats, especially my anxious boy. The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. When you call on the phone you maybe connected with someone at Atlantic Vet in Marblehead, they are partnered together, so the staff will make sure you get the info you need. My boy cat has an auto ship prescription with them and it's very convenient for us. The pricing here is reasonable compared to others in the area for the level of care you receive, they are very thorough! The parking lot here can be a bit tricky and tight but there is parking and it's easy to get to off of canal Street in Salem. We are very happy being patients here, definitely reccomed if you are looking for a new vet!

She treats my pup like he is a member of her own family, and beyond that, has helped me by making training recommendations based on her observations and interactions with my dog. Rachel has a thorough understanding of the dog care and training scene on the North Shore and is happy to share her knowledge and experience with her clients, which I have greatly appreciated.Rachel is hands on and personally involved in the facilitation of playgroups to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all of the pups in her care. Their safety is her first priority, and its so nice to be able to leave my dog at playgroup confident that he is safe, well looked after and also having a blast! Rachel is forthright and transparent about the practices at Healthy Hounds and was happy to show me inside her awesome facility when I inquired about joining. She also offers a pick up and drop off service, which makes sorting the logistics of my day much easier and ensures that my pup gets out for play. I cannot recommend Healthy Hounds strongly enough. They are undoubtedly among the best in the business.

Every time he goes to playgroup, I know he’s going to come home a happily spent pup from running around and wrestling all day long with his doggie friends. I have complete trust in Christian and Liz - they’re reliable, knowledgeable, accommodating, and consistent. In addition to playgroup, they’ve also been able to clip Stevie’s nails which I struggle to do on my own. Their level of commitment to their clients and business is exceptional.

Come to find out, my dog has terrible anxiety and this is the only groomer she will tolerate. The owner is great with her and my other dog and they always get wonderful cuts. I have had her returned to me with half a cut from lesser groomers who couldnt handle her. Kissable paws are the best!

Blown away by the food here, we had the Birria tacos, steak tacos, refried beans, and chips with guac and salsa. The green salsa that was served with the steak tacos made the entire meal for me, it added the perfect limey bite with the steak. The birria was a 12/10, truly some of the best food I’ve had in the area.

It's tiny (12 person capacity inside) but there always seems to be a table. Great place to do some work or just start the day. It gets the eastern/morning sun so it's a really bright,pleasant place in the morning near the water. My dog felt like royalty being given a little piece of bacon for visiting. Thanks Wolf Next Door! I came in from out of state to visit Salem, and stopped in here. The beer was great; but an added bonus was that these guys could not have been nicer to talk to. When I mentioned I brew, and would love to start something up as a new post-retirement career, they were supportive, offered to give any advice they could, and made this such a great visit to a place I didn’t know existed until it turned up on a Google search for “Breweries near me.” I hope to be back in Salem sooner than later, and I will make it a point to stop in and have more beer than I probably should. Good people, and great place to relax after a fun pre-Halloween midweek day and before catching our ferry back to Boston. Highly recommended when in Salem next!

10 Traders Way, SalemCannot recommend them highly enough! I adopted my cat Mercy (formerly Kiki) from PALS in July 2025 and she is the best companion I could ask for. They were careful in considering what I was looking for in a cat and let me meet 3 different cats who were all great, but I went home with Mercy and couldn't be happier. The cats are sweet, good-tempered and well taken care of.
