Alicyn's Laundro-Mutt
131 Boston St, SalemThis place is great at accepting new clients!Maureen is very welcoming! She is also very good at dealing with dogs that have high anxiety. My first time meeting Maureen she met with me so that my two dogs could get to know her. The following weekend she fit me right into the schedule. They both came home happy & clean! Not to mention, they let her cut their nails, and they never let anyone get near them.

Pet Sitting & Training
Healthy Hounds Doggie Daycare and Professional Pet Portraits
233 Washington St, SalemThe owner of Healthy Hounds, Rachel, absolutely loves dogs and it shows through the individualized care and attention she gives to each of her client pups, as well as their owners! She treats my pup like he is a member of her own family, and beyond that, has helped me by making training recommendations based on her observations and interactions with my dog. Rachel has a thorough understanding of the dog care and training scene on the North Shore and is happy to share her knowledge and experience with her clients, which I have greatly appreciated.Rachel is hands on and personally involved in the facilitation of playgroups to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all of the pups in her care. Their safety is her first priority, and its so nice to be able to leave my dog at playgroup confident that he is safe, well looked after and also having a blast! Rachel is forthright and transparent about the practices at Healthy Hounds and was happy to show me inside her awesome facility when I inquired about joining. She also offers a pick up and drop off service, which makes sorting the logistics of my day much easier and ensures that my pup gets out for play. I cannot recommend Healthy Hounds strongly enough. They are undoubtedly among the best in the business.

Companion Synergy
3 Skerry St, SalemWe have been with Companion Synergy for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier. We started using their playgroup services after our husky got attacked by an uncontrolled dog at the local dog park. At Companion Synergy, I have peace of mind now knowing my dog can play with other dogs in a supervised and safe environment where she is grouped together with dogs of the same temperament. In addition to the weekly playgroup, we have also used their dog walking, overnight, and nutrition consultation services and have been 100% satisfied with everything. Not only are Liz and Christian trained professionals who know what they are doing, you can also tell that they deeply care about every creature in their care as if it were their own family member. We are truly happy and grateful they have become part of our and our dog's life.

Yappy Pups Playhouse
4 Tulip St, SalemI can’t say enough great things about Yappy Pups. Kathy and her team are absolutely fantastic and their genuine love for our dogs shines through in everything they do. They treated our yellow lab as if he were family. On one occasion when our dog wasn't feeling well, Kathy generously offered to take him to his vet if necessary! We feel incredibly fortunate and grateful to have found Yappy Pups and for the 3+ years our dog spent having fun there

Notch Brewery & Tap Room - Salem
283R Derby St, SalemNotch Brewery and Taproom in Salem is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for hanging out with friends enjoying beers and playing games. The brewery offers mostly Czech and German style craft beers, each brewed with care and attention to detail. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to recommend a new brew or answer any questions. Plus, the spacious taproom provides ample seating, making it easy to find a spot even during busy times. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy the outdoor seating. Keep in mind that they do not sell beer flights. Overall, Notch Brewery and Taproom is a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy some great beer in Salem.

Whimsy's Sweet Life
26 Front St, SalemMy friends and I were vacationing in Boston (from different parts of the US) and took a day trip to Salem. It was September and still a bit warm so by afternoon, we were looking for a nice treat. My friends had ice cream but I opted for the pecan turtles and they were WONDERFUL ♥️They were as big as my hand & so delicious. I actually loved them so much I have recently had them shipped to AZ for a sweet Valentines gift for my honey. Definitely recommend this treat shop. Oh, and the merchandise part of the store was great as well ??

Flying Saucer Pizza Company
Lappin Park, SalemEnjoyed eating lunch here with friends while visiting. I noticed immediately that the space is smaller, which makes it a pretty tight walk around. Even with a lot of customers the noise level was not to loud. I was disappointed when there was a set of 8 of us and they said we needed to sit at different booths. Eventually we asked if we could move to the side with a booth/table combo so we could all sit together. The waiter was not so happy. The food then was divided by the two tables (not pushed together) and then brought out at very different times. When half of the table had their pizza the other half didn't. Once they had finished then we received ours. The menu was pretty confusing due to the lack of explanation of what they all offer. It does give the description but it doesn't adequately show what they serve as specials or explain it. Turns out after we ordered we found their "march madness" wall that had all the pizzas we could order but would have had no idea what was on each one. The pizza it self was very good. It was not over done and a well rounded pizza. I think it's something I'd eat once but not say it's a "must have" again since IM NOT a huge pizza person.

The Lobster Shanty
25 Front St, SalemThis place is a little pricy, but wow are the lobster rolls good. They do not hold back with the lobster! It was terrific. It's a small place, and seems to get busy, so plan accordingly. Laid back bar vibes and queer friendly.

Longboards Restaurant & Bar
76 Wharf St, SalemMy friends and I are all regulars at LBs and have been since before the move. Longboards is much more than an excellent bar to us. I've never had a bad dish here, although the new extra large wings and the ricotta sausage flatbread is always top of mind when we get the menu. They have all our favorite beers behind the bar for a fair price and we love trying out all the cocktails too. More importantly this is where we go to watch a game, celebrate new jobs, party on holidays, and I'll even have my bridal shower here in April. The bartenders are friends to us and this place is like the Central Perk or Cheers of Salem. I go here with my friends, on date nights, and I am even known to go alone for some good food and company. Thank you for being a second home to us LBs we love you!!

Gulu-Gulu Cafe
247 Essex St, SalemWent here once and I really enjoyed it, I'll actually be back! Just wanted to stop in somewhere and get a drink or two, going out is kind of new for me. Sat at the bar, ended up getting a drink called Starry Night (cmon can you blame me! the name is beautiful!), Blue Velvet, and some type of beer that tasted like grapefruit drink that was ordered for me. Blue Velvet was my favorite :) it's in the photo. The bartender was just as sweet as the drink and even shared how the foam was made. All around it was a great time in Salem and it definitely made walking around Salem slightly more fun after getting my buzz on lol

Northeast Animal Shelter
347 Highland Ave, SalemI will like to give this google review to a person who was working at the Northeast Animal Shelter by the name of Marina. She was kind, supportive, knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring about what she does. She helped us adopt our new dog Eve. Marina's love for animals shined through her care. We are so grateful to her for her time and efforts to make sure the process for the adoption for the dog was perfection. She matched up the right dog with the right family and she was very honest. The shelter was very busy, and she made us feel like we were the only customers. The shelter was clean and the animals looked very well cared for. I hope the management can take the time to thank her and the countless other volunteers and workers that make that place run efficiently. There was though a manager that seemed like they needed a little more people skill training, other than that everything went well.
