“Stayed here for my 21st birthday while visiting salem. Was a little nervous after seeing some other reviews but was very surprised how nice and clean everything was! Room did not have “roaches” or smell like “dog piss” like other karen reviewers are writing. My only complaint was that the tv in our room worked perfectly fine but did have a strange blue color and was the only color on it which is not a big deal at all and we actually went next door to Walmart which is conveniently literally a minute walk away to get a small tv for the time being. Overall great for the price and employees are very friendly and kind even letting us check in early. Hopefully this review brings you peace of mind unlike the other drama queens here!

Rooms: Very clean

Walkability: Back of hotel has a short walking path directly over to walmart next door and is in walking distance of many other restaurants and stores!”

“Room was super clean and just as stated in the description on the website.
Very quite block and yet right next to the excitement for Halloween
Staff is amazing, super knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was hot and very yummy.
Would stay here again if I come back to Salem.
Stayed 10/25-10/27/24.”

“An exceptional place for a vintage stay! Everything is perfect: the decoration, the rooms with their vinyl turntable, quiet, clean and spacious, the breakfast, the heated swimming pool, and the friendly, helpful, smiling staff. All close to all amenities! We will come back! Well done!”

“A wonderful experience from arrival to check-out - great location, excellent amenities and service, and a staff that was most personable, efficient, and very good all around. Thank you for a great stay in Boston.”

“Great location for a visit to boston, midway between Back Bay and the North End, close to the Common. Convenient to the Freedom Trail and Beacon Hill. Luxury linens and friendly service. Exceptionally clean. We would definitely stay here again. Didn't use the gym,but we appreciated the bottled water and snacks in our room. Also, having a fridge in the room is a game changer.
I used the robe and slippers provided. I only wish there were more hooks for hanging the robe and towels! Only one towel bar didn't seem like enough. Also the partial shower door resulted in water on the floor every time we showered. We loved the motion-activated low blue lights that came on in the bathroom in the middle of the night. What a great idea!

We had a premium king with windows overlooking the street in front of the hotel. Always nice to have natural light.

The bar was always crowded, perhaps because they seem to give everyone free drink tickets when they arrive (wine and beer only). The coffee shop adjacent to the lobby is excellent but always had a line.

My other complaint is a lack of streaming apps. Only spotify and you tube were available. Would have been nice to have Amazon prime and Netflix so we could have had viewing options from our phones.

Overall, a great hotel.”

“Reviewing the spa. Every detail matters, from the moment you enter the spa, the slippers you slide into, the herbal tea you drink before stepping into the steam room, to the attentive masseuse who ensures you get a unique massage experience. Worth every dollar you spend.”

“Very nice boutique hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Nearby activities: I was in town for the Celtics home opener. TD Garden is across the street from the hotel.

Walkability: See above. There are plenty of restaurants and access to the subway nearby.”

“The best, most enjoyable breakfast in the Western Hemisphere is in the Four Seasons on Boylston St. Huge windows onto the lively and beautiful Boston Public Garden are the backdrop to really exceptional food and service. My Lobster Benedict had more lobster than a typical lobster roll, and it was so deliciously chewy that I was the last person to finish eating. The name of the restaurant, 'Aujourd'hu', is French for "amazingly excellent, and prices are much too low for this quality". I never mention names in reviews like this, but if the Wonderful Wilma is in attendance when you go, you're in luck.”

“The fantastic location and wonderful staff made for an excellent stay here! Located in the Back Bay Area, Westin is situated near my new favorite shopping and eating area, Newbury Street. It's central to many locations: 5-minute walk to the Prudential Center close to many restaurants, across the street from the Boston Public Library and also within walking distance to the Boston Common. What we enjoyed most though was the friendly service from all the staff we encountered. We checked in late around 5ish and our room wasn't ready because housekeeping hadn't yet finished cleaning the spilled wine on the floor, courtesy of previous guests. We booked a room with 2 queen beds but because of the anime convention, they were fully booked on this room type, so they offered us a king suite with a sofa bed. Never one to be surly to anyone in the service industry, especially one who tried their best to make things right for us, I accepted the substitution without complaint. They were apologetic and gave us vouchers for a free breakfast the following morning. I love a good service recovery gesture! At breakfast, we met warm and friendly Ezra who gave us recommendations for the Seaport district and chatted with us about his family, his native Barbados and his 6'1" teenage son. Then we met Freddy and Irene at the Club Lounge and again, super friendly and welcoming! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.”

“Second time staying at The Dagney Hotel in Boston. The staff was so friendly especially Dina, she was welcoming and very accommodating. The place was well maintained. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Dina for making my stay memorable!”

“its a perfect base, especially if you are taking Amtrak / Acela. Its literally minutes walk and is in a safe neighborhood in downtown Boston. You could walk along the wharf pathway to north end or check out the markets or walk to Boston commons (all within 20 minutes). They recognize your ihg status so all is well. I watched a game at TD garden so took an Uber back - no drama. Rooms are pretty huge and they carry byredo which is nice”

“Perfect hotel for a stay in Boston. Quiet, comfortable, spacious and well-equipped room. The staff is very helpful. 5 minutes walk from a metro station on the green line. The valet parking lot is very convenient for parking during your stay. It's a good value for Boston. There is a Cheesecake Factory nearby. The neighborhood is quiet.”

“My particular room was not good. No view and the closet door wouldn't open because it was too close to the bed. Front desk staff didn't appear to care at all that the restaurant and bar was closed for two night. That said, most other rooms looked much nicer than mine and the valet staff was very courteous and professional. Location is has good proximity to Back Bay and South End restaurants and bars and Prudential Center across the street. Twenty min walk to The Common and 45 to the North End.”

“We had a wonderful time here. Stopped for one night on our road trip up to Maine and it was sad to say goodbye. The staff were warm and welcoming. Our stay was like stepping back in time. The cozy parlor and dining room were the best relaxing spots. We had a glass of wine from the little tavern on site & played games by the fire before going to a recommended place for dinner (walking distance, also great!). For breakfast, it felt like mom herself cooked you up a plate of yummy breakfast casserole! The room was everything. Clean, orderly, cozy. We had a room with a wood burning fireplace and fell asleep to crackles and pops of fire. I mean, does it get any better than that? It’s also so close to Salem, which makes the location top notch. We would highly recommend making harbor light inn a must do.”

“What a great gem of a place! Within walking distance to all the main attractions, Bob was awesome with giving suggestions on what to do and was an excellent host! Will definitely book again!”

“Absolutely would return. We stayed here before a cruise and it was incredibly convenient (lots of other people had the same idea). King rooms were VERY comfortable and worked great for two people working remotely. The Mexican restaurant on site was actually delicious the night we were there (service was a bit slow, but we definitely didn't care). Hotel breakfast was good, too. Location was convenient for nearby stores and shops.

We ended up getting on a shuttle the hotel arranged to take people to the port due to traffic issues, which was very nice. They also helped me out when I lost the key to my luggage lock. All the staff was really nice. Can't recommend this enough!”

“We loved our stay at The Cabot Lodge! Yes, the rooms are petite, but beautifully kept, well designed with unbelievably comfortable beds! Our 20 something kids loved the attention to detail design of the rooms, free snacks and the comfy beds. Melanie and her son were the sweetest! They were very fun, engaging and helpful for area restaurant recommendations and bar soap :)The location is ideal for all the above and The Cabot Theater. Thank you!!”

“If you are looking for where to stay, don't double think it and just book! I stood at Studio Allston for a work travel. After a long day traveling, and getting in late at night, it was nice to have such attentive staff and smooth check-in. The property is such a gem and has some beautiful spaces to sit and work and just check out. The rooms are large and spacious and any additional amenities the staff was so kind to provide. I got in after the kitchen was closed, but I got to have lunch the next day and it was AMAZING! I cannot and will not stop raving out the short ribs tacos and how they just melt in your mouth, seasoned to perfection, and so fresh. I am gluten intolerant and sometimes I risk it all, but it was nice to have a menu that I did not have to overthink what to eat. I would without a doubt return! Also, small thing, but parking was right on premise and very affordable.”

“Great location- walking distance to many places such as China Town, paul Revere House, boston tea party museum, aquarium. The observation desk is wonderful. You can do your laundry for free. The 1st floor is really nice. Breakfast is al la carte.”

“We stayed here for our Salem/Boston trip. We chose this hotel based solely on pictures from online and the price, which is reasonable and average for this area. The area is very nice. Shopping, restaurants, coffee and even a place for volleyball, pickleball and other activities. Had live music as well. The staff is helpful, hotel is clean and located within steps of the train station that you will need for your travel into Boston or surrounding areas. The restaurant inside the hotel, Reflections; is mediocre. It'll do In a pinch. The bar serves great drinks. But, if you're looking for a place to stay outside the city, look no further. You won't be disappointed.

Rooms: Smaller, nice, everything you need. No microwave

Nearby activities: Restaurants, bars, shopping, coffee, outdoor activities, live music

Safety: Safe area... people walking and hanging out

Walkability: All your needs near by! And steps from the train

Food and drinks: Nice area for food drinks. A little pricey but that's everything now!”

“We stayed 10 nights at the hotel, it was wonderful, a spacious room equipped with everything you need, pleasant staff and they were happy to help with our every request, a varied breakfast and a pleasant place to sit and eat, the hotel is close to the train and very beautiful parks. I would like to give a special mention to the person in charge of the dining room Jose, who on the first day we arrived went through all the options in the dining room with us and patiently explained everything and every morning he greeted us with a smile and asked how we were, we have never encountered such a helpful person, who made our vacation more pleasant, we We will definitely return to the hotel.”

“The room was nice but when we asked for an extra blanket, the front desk said there weren’t any.
We called again the next day, and a different front desk person brought up a sheet for us.

Rooms: Front desk Service for an extra blanket… not available

Walkability: Everything was easy to get to from hotel”

“It’s hard to beat a stay at the Mandarin Oriental. The attention to detail is absolutely incredible! Something I so appreciate when I stay. You’ll see in my photos how they organize your items when you leave. I’m organized, not that organized. Each time you walk into your room they make sure it is a place where you feel like you can relax. We came in on a cole rainy day and they sent hot chocolate up to our room for us and our kids. There was a nice chocolate gift waiting for us, and each day after! They organize your cords and give you screen cleaners if they notice a device with a unclear screen. The list continues. If you want to feel completely pampered when you are in Boston, stay at the Mandarin Oriental.Nearby activities: The hotel is connected to the Prudential center (mall and very tall building with great views you can pay to go to the top of). It is located on Back Bay surrounded by great shopping and restaurants.Walkability: You are surrounded by shops, entertainment, and food. Hard to beat the location unless you are looking for a specific place in Boston to be next to.Noteworthy details: Go to the spa, it’s free with your stay and has a luxury hot tube and steam shower.”

“Don't let the "bath down the hall" scare you away! They were always clean, they are a private bathroom shower/sink/toilet with locking doors, they were usually unoccupied, and not far from any of the rooms. The hotel is beautiful and in an amazing area with everything you need close by! Not far from the trains or busses either. We will definitely stay here again! The bed was super comfortable as well. My only small complaint is that other patrons weren't courteous of others when going back and forth to their rooms, they were obnoxiously loud. Overall 5/5, everyone at the front desk was super helpful and accommodating to requests.Rooms: Clean and comfortable, not too big and not too small.Walkability: Multiple restaurants and stores close by, also close to trains and busses.”

“Giving this Place 5 Stars all around. I travel often and stay in alot of hotels across the Country and this is definitely in my top 3 all time stays, arguably Number 1. Everything was perfect and I can be very particular. The main reason are stay was so delightful was because of Evandro Monteiro who works the front desk. He was so accommodating and helpful to whatever I needed. He's was very kind ,pleasure to Have a conversation with and always as smile on his face. My daughter goes to school around the corner so I will be up in Boston often and this is the only place Im going to stay, Well Done W Boston!”

“The room was lovely and clean with a nice view. There was construction on the road out front that made arrival confusing but we managed. The area is quiet but close to many stores and restaurants within a few blocks. Flour is down the alley and very close. It's a little bit of a walk to the subway entrance from what we found. The Brownstone sports bar is nearby with delicious food as well as many steakhouses.

Rooms: The room was very nice and clean. The shower has a body jet which is a nice touch. The beds are not queens so be prepared if you have children sharing or you're sharing for a girls' trip.”

“Thank you so much for this wonderful place. I’m an active duty Sailor and this place was recommended to me by my CO. Stayed three nights and slept like a baby. Wonderful breakfast and coffee available all day long. Seriously appreciate this R&R opportunity before heading back out to sea again. Some pics of my room (the mess is my fault; I’m about to check out)There are a few rules that come with staying here so if your goal is come to Boston to get sloshed this might not be the right place to stay the night.Driving and need to park overnight?Postal parking garage is about a 18 min walk from here. $9 a night.”
