“Credit to Demmer Lincoln for offering honest service at a fair price. Varsity Lincoln quoted me $2200 for an oil pan repair which seemed quite high to me, so I called Demmer Lincoln and was quoted $1100. Demmer completed the repair for $1100 without issue.
I then compared the quotes line by line, Varsity Lincoln marked up parts 30% over Ford MSRP, added a bunch of generic shop supplies, added unrelated parts, and charged twice the labor costs as Demmer Lincoln. Demmer didn’t play those games, charged MSRP for the necessary parts and a more reasonable labor costs.

I currently drive a 2018 Honda Odyssey, and all I wanted was a straightforward upgrade. I first went to an Ann Arbor Honda dealership, fully prepared to purchase the vehicle that same day. I asked if they could include all-weather floor mats, as LaFontaine Honda had done when I purchased my first minivan. What should have been a simple request quickly escalated into a very unpleasant experience.
The sales manager became visibly irritated, told me the price was already “discounted,” and said the vehicle did not include any mats unless I paid extra. When I asked whether different payment options would make any difference, I was told that it would only matter if I financed through the dealership. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional and made it clear that my business was not valued unless it benefited them in a very specific way. They even suggested they could include the mats only if I purchased an additional service package. At that point, I chose to leave.
Although I initially didn’t want to drive all the way from Ann Arbor to Dearborn, I decided to go to LaFontaine Honda—and I’m so glad I did.
Calvin was absolutely outstanding. From our very first phone call on Friday evening, he was transparent, respectful, and easy to talk to. I explained the price I had been quoted elsewhere, and he immediately said he would match it and have the vehicle ready for us on Monday, even though they were about to close.
When we arrived on Monday, the experience was night and day. Calvin walked me through everything calmly and thoroughly. The minivan already included standard mats, all-weather mats, and even a first-aid kit—items that the other dealership had tried to sell to me separately. There was no pressure, no attitude, and no games. His relaxed and friendly approach made the entire process smooth and genuinely enjoyable.
At the end, when I was ready to drive my new car home, Calvin surprised me by placing a giant red ribbon on the vehicle so I could take a photo. It was a small but thoughtful and fun gesture that really reflected how much he cared about the customer experience.
Calvin is a true professional with an easygoing personality who never rushes or pressures his customers. Based on this experience, I have no doubt he will be very successful in his career.
