Plymouth Veterinary Hospital, Inc.
725 Wing St, PlymouthI cannot say enough good things about Dr. Swatek and Plymouth Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Swatek is my preferred Veterinarian. She has been taking care of my fur kids since 2018, a cat and 3 bunnies. It’s not easy to find quality care for small animals, so when I found her, I truly struck veterinary gold and quickly switched my cat over to her care as well. She is an amazing person, Dr. and a top notch professional. She is so kind and easy to talk to. You can tell that her heart is 100% in it with every animal in her care. I followed her from her last practice over to Plymouth Veterinary, it’s lovely little place and I am very happy with the care and consideration of the staff as well. I highly recommend this facility and Dr. Swatek gets a 5 plus star rating from me!

Veterinary Emergency Service West
40850 Ann Arbor Rd, PlymouthThis is not our first 5 star experience with this facility. We brought our 11 year old pup Maggie in after she ingested what we thought was just 1 toy for the first time in her life. The entire staff was compassionate and informative and took such amazing care of our girl as they closely monitored her throughout the night providing us with timely updates. She ended needing emergency surgery and they did a fantastic job at safely removing multiple toys from her abdomen. The care and compassion is top notch at this facility!

Pet Sitting & Training

Trust & Obey Pawsitive Dog Training LLC
758 Wing St, PlymouthWe've done two of the classes here, Puppy FUNdamentals and Firm Foundations. Both were fantastic, and the two instructors we had both took slightly different approaches to everything which gave us quite a few approaches to try with our pup at home.
I don't think any puppy class is a magic bullet, but we got so much information and both sessions were a great opportunity for our puppy to socialize with other dogs in a controlled environment. Every dog gets some personal attention from the instructor during each session and they always had great answers and ideas for our home training struggles.
We'll definitely be back for more!

Happy Hounds Dog Day Care
673 S Main St, PlymouthHappy Hounds is the only place I will trust with my dog. I've used several other nearby daycares and although they were okay, no place is like here. The cage-free environment ensures my dog gets plenty of playtime and social time, and he loves it! He can't get out of the car fast enough at drop off! And when we pick him up he is exhausted from having a big fun day!
Every single staff member shows the compassion they have for watching all the fur babies. Not only do they have web cams or you can see your puppy's playing all day, they are very active with taking pictures and posting them on social media.
It's hard having to take your dog to daycare or boarding when you're busy with work or other things, but with Happy Hounds I know My dog has a blast, gets plenty of social time with other dogs which is huge for growth and proper behavior, and sometimes learns a thing or two!

Michigan Dog Training
1031 Cherry St, PlymouthMy husband and I enrolled our German Shepherd, Zeus, at MDT after receiving numerous recommendations from neighbors who had previously worked with Michael and his staff. Choosing MDT was one of the best decisions we could have made.
When Zeus started training, he was highly reactive to other dogs and people. While he was never aggressive, he struggled with overexcitement, jumping, and remaining calm when guests entered our home. Through private lessons, we were able to better understand Zeus and give him the structure, guidance, and confidence he needed. From walking, heel, and place training to one-on-one interactions with other dogs, every session helped create a more comfortable and controlled environment for him.
Not only did Zeus learn, but I learned as well. I genuinely looked forward to our weekly classes, and the entire staff was always supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging. We are truly going to miss seeing everyone each week, though I promise we’ll still stop by to say hello.
One thing Michael said early on has stayed with me throughout this journey: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” That reminder meant so much during the process and perfectly reflects what training truly requires. For anyone considering board-and-train or private lessons, it’s important to understand that success doesn’t come from training alone — it also comes from the consistency and effort you put in at home using the tools MDT provides. Zeus would not be where he is today without both the expertise of MDT and the continuation of that training in our daily lives. Real change takes commitment, patience, and consistency.
We are incredibly grateful for this training academy and for all of the wonderful people we met along the way. I will always recommend MDT to anyone looking for professional, compassionate, and effective dog training.
Sincerely,
Sam

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Meridian Coffee Co.
636 Starkweather St, PlymouthAwesome little establishment in Old Village. The staff is great and the coffee is fantastic. I really like that they roast their coffee in house, so you know it is fresh. Blue Kuna Smokehouse
600 W Ann Arbor Trail, PlymouthWent there for my birthday with some friends and it was great. The owners are super friendly and make an effort to know their customers and community. The food was outstanding, I had the brisket sandwich with mac and cornbread; it was excellent, very tender and juicy and paired with the mac just to die for. If you haven’t tried it yet go give it a shot, you will not regret it!

Bearded Lamb Brewing Company
149 W Liberty St, PlymouthThe BLB is a great craft brewery spot, and love that they allow you to bring your own food in while you enjoy a drink. The service is top-notch, and they make some fantastic hazy beers that keep us coming back.
The real standout here, though, is trivia night. The trivia host, J.R., is truly one of a kind—super interactive, entertaining, and keeps the whole room engaged. My same group of friends and I have been going to see him for about 11 years now, and the experience never misses. Always guaranteed good beer, great memories, and a fun night out. Highly recommended! Btw Bad photo had my beer goggles on.
