“A 5-star hotel and restaurant located on the only inhabited island in Minneapolis and just minutes from anything cool you can think of. We frequented the Nicollet Island Inn (NII) for the quiet, well-kept bar that is a hidden gem, and an occasional dinner/meal, when we lived in Northeast Minneapolis. So, when we were returning after a 4-year absence, we HAD to stay at the Nicollet Island Inn. We met friends and family for an afternoon and evening of dining, drinks and fun. We received superb service, unsurmountable attention to detail and delicious, splendid meals. Wow! NII sets the new gold standard for hotels and restaurants. All of us who travel regularly were amazed at the professionalism, genuine care and alacrity that we enjoyed with every encounter, every meal and every conversation. A huge thank you to Issa at the front desk, Brad in the NII bar, and Lillian and Rebecca in the restaurant. Everything was perfect. You impressed everyone who had the pleasure of interacting with each of you.Nearby activities: There is too much in the way of activities that are nearby. You are a 10 minute walk to downtown Minneapolis. You are in the famed Nordeast Minneapolis - just look up Nye's Bar or St. Anthony Main! Interstate 35W is 5 minutes away and the University is a quick drive or bike ride. Centrally located and yet quiet and tucked away from the wild life.Safety: The island is well protected and well-lit. The area is always busy with foot traffic and runners/joggers. The inn does a great job of securing the parking lot and managing their outdoor patio to buffer you from the passers-by. You forget you are in a metropolitan area. They still use physical room keys!! It is classic!Walkability: You can walk anywhere at anytime from the Nicollet Island Inn. The area is constantly "afoot" with St. Anthony Main at your doorstep and downtown Minneapolis just 10 minutes away. Everyone walks in this area no matter the season.Food & drinks: The menu at NII is amazing. Each menu offers great selections with a good range for all appetites. The staff does an excellent job of accommodating food allergen requirements without skipping a beat. The wine list is very well curated and the bartender has years of mixology experience to make you the perfect iteration of any alcoholic beverage. The NII should be at the top of you dining list when in Minneapolis!”

“The woman that checked us in seemed distracted. When we got our keys, I asked which way we needed to go to get to our room and all she said was to take the elevator. I ended up having to look up the hours for the pool and breakfast because she never told us.The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was decent.”

“Excellent. I visited Minneapolis to DJ an event at the Fillmore (right next door) and the Element Hotel was absolutely perfect. The customer service was phenomenal; they brought me a cart to help transport all my DJ equipment and they showed me where the hallways connect directly to the Fillmore. It was so cool, it was like walking through a secret tunnel! Super convenient, I didn't even have to go outside in the -4*F weather! The room I booked was really cute and comfortable; it had a mini fridge and a microwave, which is perfect for me and my midnight snacks. Additionally, there was a hot chocolate bar in the lobby with mini marshmallows -- AMAZING!! Definitely a highlight of my stay :)Upon checking out, I went over to the parking garage (also very convenient and easy to access) and found a flat tire on my rental car. Totally flat like a pancake! The staff was so kind and helped me put air in the tire so that I could make it to the airport in time. Big shout-out to Noah, thank you so much!! Overall, I had a lovely experience at the Element Hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Minneapolis!”

“Strolling into Emery, you're smacked with an ambiance that's trying hard to whisper "class" through its moody lights and marble pillars. But beyond the grandiose entrance, the charm fizzles. The decor? Uninspired. Service? Ghosted us completely, leaving my wife playing solo luggage Tetris with the rolling rack. Thirsty? Hope you like tap, because there's no water provided in the room. Comfort-wise, you’d find more luxury at a Holiday Inn. Four stars? I don’t see it. A very forgettable experience inside a pretty package.”

“Although we have stayed there many times, we are treated like royalty. We stay there because the rooms are nice, the parking is nearby, and it's close to the target center, and it's all connected by the skyway. It is a little pricey though, but well worth it to us.Rooms: Rooms are almost luxurious.Nearby activities: Close to target center, target field, and many theaters.Walkability: It is connected to many activities by skyways.”

“I remember it being Grand Hotel and haven't stayed since the switch over to Hyatt. Very good location..nice big room, nice staff. I was lazy on a Monday morning and ordered room service. It was good but think of a Dennys breakfast being served in paper takeout. Coffee wasn't the best and $4 for a cup not worth it. I would stay again but not order room service. I do miss The Grand. They had a great service when you could just order coffee to be delivered to your room the next morning.”

“Moxy Minneapolis Uptown is located about a 30-minute drive from the airport, MSP. Situated in the up and coming part of Minneapolis and next door to restaurants and gastropubs, all within a block or two. The hotel looks like Moxy does, and the ground floor is all about social activities and work, with the bar as a centrepiece. In the basement is the gym, small but with treadmills, crosstrainer, and a bike as well as dumbbells and a punching bag. The rooms are nice and well-planned, if you want something special, try the junior suites, they are fabulous! The main drawback is that there is no food, which is okay for lunch and dinner, but an inconvenience for breakfast as there is nothing close early in the morning. Otherwise, it's an excellent choice”

“I’ve been staying here for just over a week and this place is all the vibes. The front desk is so accommodating and helpful, they make you feel like you’re coming home (special shout out to Thomas!) and the valets are so kind. I’m in a wheelchair and Howard always rushes to get the doors for me. Both sets! It’s honestly such a great spot. The rooms are amazing, cleaning staff do too tier work, and that rooftop hot tub with the skyline view is straight magic. I haven’t even check out yet but cant wait to book my next stay!Rooms: I with my dogs, and though they are very well trained and make minimal noise- they are still dogs. So they have barked a handful of times. I gave the front desk my cell to insure they call if there’s any disturbances and I haven’t heard a peep. I feel the rooms hold sound well without disturbing your neighborsNoteworthy details: The employees here clearly love their job. I roll through the lobby a few times a day and sometimes I’m a bit cranky/overwhelmed (recent amputee) but the staff always has me smiling by the time I get to the elevators. The energy is everything.”

“Our stay at the Graduate was excellent. We had to go to the University of Minnesota - Fairview for a follow-up on my recent kidney transplant and we decided to stay at the Graduate. The manager, Chuck, was great and made sure we had a positive experience. Upon our check-in he greeted us and made us feel welcome. Kyle, at the front desk, was also very friendly and this made for an easy check-in. The room was awesome and decorated in a very unique style. A framed Herb Brook's jacket, a picture of Loni Anderson, and walleye themed wallpaper in the bathroom made for a very cool looking room. The beds were very comfortable and made for a good night's sleep. The hotel was very clean. It was very apparent that the manager and staff take great pride in providing the best and most welcoming stay possible for guests. The Graduate Hotel will be our "go to" hotel on any future trips to Minneapolis. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Minneapolis area.”

“We stopped going to hotels near the university because of the hefty parking premium. The Delta is only a few minutes distant from the university and Dinky town if you're visiting a student there, and the Delta is a much more comfortable hotel.Delta is our go-to hotel in Minneapolis.”

“This hotel was excellent! We stayed here to watch a Timberwolves game and the skywalk to the target center made the visit so much easier! We never had to go out into the cold which was a bonus! Our view was great and the room was clean and beautiful! The beds were super comfy, I don't usually like staying at hotels because of the beds being uncomfortable but these were great! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We used the valet to make things easier I believe it was around $50 for the night. We will definitely look to stay here again next time we visit!”

“Big thanks to Nico at the desk and Sheryl who served breakfast for their warmth and service. Those two made our experience so nice it was worth taking the time to come and leave positive feedback.”

“This hotel is just beautiful and comforting. All of the staff--front desk, valet parking, and restaurant were all super friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean and also had lots of extra comforts. The lobby fireplace was nice, and the hot chocolate and s'mores bar every evening added a nice touch! Definitely recommend this hotel!”

“Perfect location for walking to the US Stadium. Despite it being such a historical building, it felt fresh, modern and clean. The desk staff was very helpful and friendly and our room was a little roomier then many standard rooms with the open floor concept diner, sitting room and bedroom. The pool is small with no hottub, yet the exercise room appeared state-of-the-art. By the way, their continental breakfast includes fresh oatmeal and the biggest selection of oatmeal toppings I've ever seen! It also includes the standard eggs, sausage, country gravy, bagels and waffles. Would definitely recommend . Off street parking is much appreciated.Nearby activities: Mill museum is close by made for an interesting tour.Walkability: We were able to walk straight to our concert at the US Stadium! During warmer weather this would be the perfect location for walking to the ruins, waterfall and nice big green spaces. Many bike/walk trails.”

“As expected room, service, amenities. Visited in March so no crazy events. Three blocks from blue line light rail and US bank stadium.Rooms: Nothing special but temperature regulation was a bit annoying, either too cold or hot and thermostat adjustment would completely reverse.Nearby activities: Several nearby stadiums and venuesWalkability: Minneapolis is rather small downtown so 1 mile to city center is niceFood & drinks: Lots of options the further along the water you walk”

“Very high end place. Very exquisite hotel. The history of Foshay was a very interesting place to see and read of all the ups and downs of the owner. Truly was a rags to riches back to rags again story. Observation deck has an awesome view of the surrounding buildings and beyond. I love that they displayed everything, and I mean everything. Like the Pardon from the President! Come and enjoy a bit of history and see the view from the 30th floor. Once there on the 30th floor, you walk up 2 things of stairs. I hope you enjoy this gem. It took them 2 years to build. Just think about that a moment. Now a days it takes some people 10 years to fix a pothole! ?? ?”

“Our international flight was delayed by a day so ended up needing to find a hotel. What an unexpected surprise. The rooms are so clean and spacious! We ended up with a runway view room and I was worried about noise but it wasn't very loud at all. I slept like a baby!It was very cold and we didn't pack for winter so we decided to just eat in the hotel. The food was great and so was the service. The airport shuttle was really nice and was quick. I would definitely make a plan to stay here again on purpose.”

“Decent hotel. Great price. Front desk staff was helpful. Room was decent. Good location. Not much parking in the area, but that's more of an FYI. They do have valet, just didn't want to spend that kind of money, when a block away it is 60% cheaper.”

“My favorite hotel to stay at when in Minneapolis. The staff is being helpful and polite, super accommodating, and extremely enjoyable to work with. To say that everything is squeaky clean would be an understatement. I will definitely be back.”

“It is located in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Reserve Station. It offers nightly and weekly rates, rooms are spacious. It has a small fitness center, laundry rooms for each wing. Located near the Base Exchange and Gym. Great for Battle Assembly weekends or for travelers doing training on the Reserve Station.”

“Excellent stay cation for me downtown. Convenient to everything. Lovely staff as well. I wish I would of got the gentleman's name that checked me in on Friday evening. He was a class act!! Please, give him some props to his kind words to me and professionalism. It was the anniversary of my mother's death, and we had a nice conversation about it. He was simply fabulous. Shout out to Ryan, the bartender, as well. Good guy!! I'll be back and will also recommend friends to stay there. Thank you”

“The double bed option is a killer. The beds are too small, you need to offer queen sized beds as most other hotels do.We didn’t get cookies at checkin due to a large group arriving at the same time but when we asked later on, were provided with a few extra as a thank you for our patience.Rooms: Rooms are small if traveling with more than 2 people. Double beds and a smaller bathroom make for cramped quarters.Nearby activities: Plenty of dining and shopping options available to meet your needs. Several walkable.Food & drinks: Breakfast buffet was ok. Eggs protein and potatoes. Wish more fruit options or yogurt were offered for our large group.”

“In case you haven't checked the expedited booking hotel sites, it is tough to find lodging less than 1.5 miles from Universal Studios and CBS Radford because everything seems to be "better" but way more expensive or cheaper but way more sketch. So, this was a great choice. It was important to me to be close to CBS Radford because I was in town to shoot the game show "Blank Slate" on the Will and Grace lot (Rosita says hi). A non-disclosure agreement keeps me from telling you if I won the $10,000 prize, but let's just say that next time I am in town, I'm probably staying in the discarded needle suite at the "Bed Bug Inn".PROS.SERVICE. Check-in is at four, but the guy was gracious enough to let me get into a room around 2:30pm, not exercising his right to make me wait. (This only works if you are nice, so don't act entitled or quote my review). And, when I got there my room smelled like cleaning products, Members Only cologne, and an essential oil spill at The Body with the strength of a clothing store mall. It was Abercrombie and Retch. My point is, the guy assured me that this smell is from the non-toxic cleaning supplies, a scent that goes away in a half hour, and one of the reasons they air out a room before premature guests (like me) come in). And, he offered me a different room, offering two other choices. He also said I could leave the door open even though I was leaving for a haircut.CLEANLINESS. The room was clean, modern, and simple, with no carpet, curtains, or clunky bedspread. Big comfortable bed, flat screen TV, and mini-fridge. The massive air conditioner was already on when I checked in. They have a "Fan Only" option that allows for white noise. Don't mistake it for the "Only Fan" option which makes it cross its eyes and stick out its tongue. The bathroom has a wide sink with the incredibly bright lighting like a Sugarfina store, allowing you see your back teeth through the pores of your nose. The fluffy towels of assorted sizes had the slight smell of bleach that would turn on a German and the shower was wide with a big shower head, glass doors, and products that actually lathered.COTTAGES. I highly recommend the south side of the property has about ten freestanding cottages, which means you have your own carport (except for Room 101, closest to the entrance) and you have nobody above you and you have no shared walls. The north side is more like a typical motel with parking spaces and neighboring walls.PRIncluding this list (which I admit is nitpicking) allows me to keep up the five star review without reservation. The room is clean, but it could use a few small touch-ups (scuffs). My fridge (101) made a clunking sound twice a minute so I had to unplug it to sleep. Also, my alarm clock did not work, and no, I didn't mix up PM with AM or AD or BC, the radio wouldn't even play when I tested it. Though the extra large shower head allows for tall people and provides a lot of water, the water pressure could be better (it's not bad, but it's not stellar) and the water sneaks out between the glass door gap. The biggest issue for me (at least for Room 101) was the all-night road noise of Ventura Blvd that I couldn't drown out with the fan. And, of course, there may be an initial overpowering smell of cleaning supplies that require airing the room out, Advil, or sticking broken cigarettes up the nose like cops finding a school bus full of corpses.”
