Family owned and it really shows in the personable customer service and quality options. I’ll never go anywhere else!

Woody's Pet Food Deli
3008 W 50th St, MinneapolisLove this place. Has a great selection of raw or cooked meats as well as accompaniments such as cooked yams. They also sell a variety of healthy dog treats as well as toys and supplements. Not over priced. When I moved I thought I wouldn't be able to continue to pick up my dog's food but there are multiple locations around the metro that I can reach in a short drive.

3830 Cheatham Ave, MinneapolisI can not begin to say enough positive things about the staff that work at Northland Natural Pet. Let me begin with thank you! They are the most wonderful, helpful, courteous, informative and friendly folks I have had the pleasure in working with now for probably nearly 5 years. From Stacy who helps me on the phone with my orders, with my many questions, she is so patient, to the helpful friendly guys that help us load our many bags of dog food, I highly recommend them. It’s been a pleasure to work with them all and would not consider going anywhere else for my quality dog food and treat needs.

Bone Marche
3777 Park Center Blvd, MinneapolisBest pet store around! I was so excited to finally try a new pet store and one that's more of a small business. I'm SO impressed! I had questions regarding raw/ freeze-dried food with cats/dogs. Linda was extremely helpful in proving all the information I needed to feel comfortable about what I was feeding my fur babies. $70 of stuff actually got much better stuff than you would get at a petco or a petsmart. All the staff there is beyond friendly. This will now be my normal pet store!

Petco
7995 Southtown Dr, MinneapolisThe store is well kept and I can always find what I am looking for. The staff is helpful, but I get the feeling they are understaffed as you often have to wait for someone to come and check you out when you are ready to purchase your items.

Pet Grooming

Wendy's Doghouse Inc.
4207 E 54th St, MinneapolisFor decades, I’ve heard from neighborhood dog-walking friends about the great grooming service at Wendy’s Doghouse Inc. And I could see for myself how clean and attractive and happy their dogs looked.
We’ve given baths to our terriers and even trimmed their toenails, but I’ve learned there’s nothing like a professional groom. After one session with Carley, our Airedale looks like a dog instead of a sheep, plus she seems happier and proud of herself. We’ve already booked her next appointment and we’re ALL looking forward to it.

Foxy Dogs
5460 Nicollet Ave, MinneapolisI've moved around a lot and have two cavaliers, so naturally I've been to countless groomers and I have an idea of what to expect when it comes to the dogs' cuts and wash. Foxy Dogs blew my expectations out of the water. It has been a few days since their grooming, and my dogs are still softer than ever before and smell heavenly! To say nothing of the exceptional cut they received. Gizmo didn't want to leave when it came time to go - I think that reflects how well they are treated! I will never be able to settle for another groomer! Thank you Foxy Dogs!!

Pet Care

Best Friends Animal Hospital
8094 Morgan Cir S, MinneapolisI first came to Best Friends about 6 months ago to put my dog Xenio down. Which they were nothing but accommodating, kind and very compassionate about what they do. Then a couple weeks ago I brought one of my other dogs Klein in for a second opinion on what has been making him sick since September. They were very determined to help figure out what was wrong. We didn't get the chance to complete his workup before he passed. So when they found out they were very sympathetic for what I had gone through once again. I couldn't thank them enough for being there through both my rainbow dogs.

Pet Doctors
25 E Franklin Ave, MinneapolisI greatly appreciate all of the kind and knowledgeable folks who work at Pet Doctors. Everyone who works there truly wants the best for my pets and I have been so grateful for their thoughtfulness, particularly when my previous dog was going through her final days after a cancer diagnosis. They helped her stay as comfortable as possible and stayed in touch with me throughout that difficult time. I just brought my current dog in for vaccines and everyone treated him like he was a star. There is a calm vibe to the office and both of my dogs have felt comfortable while there. Thank you to everyone at Pet Doctors!

Minnehaha Animal Hospital
4809 Chicago Ave, MinneapolisI’m 28 now and married, and I’ve been coming to this veterinary clinic since I was litterally a kid! The Minnehaha Team has been there through every moment of my childhood pets, and now they support me as I care for my very own cat and dog with confidence and independence.
Over the years, I’ve built incredible trust with the front desk staff, the assistants, and the doctors. They’ve treated our pets like family and they’ve treated us like family too. We particularly have a great bond with Bobbie and Dr. Soule.
We feel like the staff has always shown up with compassion, professionalism, and absolute genuine care. They LOVE our dog Marzipan, everyone genuilnly greats her and hopes she's doing well. Even new empoleeyes we meet fall in love with her and it's very hearwarming.
I honestly can’t believe I haven’t written this review until now! I feel awful since they’ve earned it a hundred times over. If you’re looking for a vet who will walk alongside you through the joys and heartbreaks of pet ownership, this is the place. I’m endlessly grateful for the years of care, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. I send so much love to the team and hope you know, YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO US!

Kenwood Pet Clinic
2107 Penn Ave S, MinneapolisKenwood has long been our primary resource for veterinary care and we are always happy with the standard of care and the kindness our pets are treated to. Something I really also value, though, is how willing and quick Kenwood vets are to be part of a more integrated approach to a problem involving specialists or urgent care external to the clinic. They are always interested in and invested in the best outcome for our pets and that is deeply appreciated. On this occasion, they gently guided our Greyhound mix through x-rays for an upcoming visit to a rehab clinic and affirmed the preliminary injury diagnosis given by an Urgent Care vet. I value my relationship with all of the vets and staff at Kenwood.

South Hyland Pet Hospital
5400 W Old Shakopee Rd, MinneapolisMy 5.5-year-old best friend, my Pomeranian, suddenly became critically ill with severe pancreatitis. Thanks to Dr. Nikki Burk and her incredible team at South Hyland Pet Hospital, her life was saved.
Dr. Burk was compassionate, non-judgmental, and exceptionally knowledgeable throughout the entire experience. She truly cares from the perspective of a pet parent, taking the time to explain every option clearly including treatment plans and costs so we could make informed decisions and decide best course for our family. She checks in often and is always open to questions or concerns, which made an incredibly difficult time feel much more manageable.
Over the years, I’ve had pets with complex medical needs, including a cat with early kidney failure and another with severe heart complications and frostbite (stray) and I have worked with many veterinarians. I can honestly say I have never experienced a more caring, supportive, and dedicated vet.

Cherry Hoggs
1521 E 57th St, MinneapolisMy son and I had a Facetime visit with Charlie less than a week ago. We are honestly already seeing results!!! I can't believe it -- our 5yo girl is/was stubborn, feisty, and ornery. She was crazy independent and had zero recall. Within just a few days she seems mellower, more attentive and she seems like she's genuinely trying to do what we tell her to do. We have a lot of hard work ahead but it's been really rewarding so far and I can see that if we stay committed she will, even at 5 years old, have a much happier life. Thank you Charlie for all the outstanding advice and for taking the time we needed during the call to answer questions and make sure we understood the task at hand!

4025 Columbus Ave., MinneapolisYou can stop your search for a dog walker - Reservoir Doggies is the best! I trust Emma 100%. My dogs had been in the country for 6 years (one of which can be reactive) and not socialized. I was anxious to move back to the cities and how they would react to all the other dogs. Emma helped me with an initial training and takes them on group walks with no problems! A true dog whisperer. I'm so grateful for all her help. They are thriving in their new environment and I totally credit Emma for this.

Diggers Dog Walking
1915 2nd Ave S #14, MinneapolisDaniel has been so helpful for our family and most importantly for our dogs. We used him years ago with our first dog and are now on our second round with our new puppy. He was flexible with us when she had her spay surgery and even assisted with administering meds when needed and reached out to check on her post-surgery. He has been a great resource for tips & training too. He’s dependable, timely and very professional. When we work from home, he‘s quick to know when we are on a zoom call and can’t talk or can’t have background noise. You and your dogs will be happy working with him.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Selam Restaurant
3860 Minnehaha Ave, MinneapolisThis is a nice family owned place, food always comes out hot and fresh but it certainly takes a while so cut out at least 90 minutes for your visit. We got the Meat Combo Plater which had 4 different dishes included, all very tasty (see photo for description)! But I was left wanting a little more spice/heat. The menu say this player would feed 2 but I have a smaller appetite so I think it could easily feed 3 or 4. Also when you're ready to pay, you go up to the counter and wait for a person to appear to ring you up (which can be confusing if you've never been there before).
