“Let me tell you, they are always consistent! Super sweet staff, food is delicious and who doesn’t love the convenience of being able to buy grocery that’s located right next door. From bom boms, to pao de queijo and more ?”
“So many spices! They also have produce and some dairy type products. And way more shelf stable staples than you would expect for such a small place. People working their are always nice. I love this place.”
“Very friendly and kind. Quality foods and all organic. Be mindful of the time of day you go, they run out fast. My favorite place to get organic produce and drinks.”

“Great selection of many Asian foods, not just Japanese.
Very helpful staff are responsive to questions and stocking questions. A great place to fill those Asian shaped holes in your pantry!”
“Garden Gourmet really is an oasis in this neck of the Kingsbridge-Riverdale woods. The quality is uniformly high, with a few exceptions, and the prices are decent. More expensive than, say, Stop & Shop across the street, but overall a vastly superior store. Produce selection is abundant, with plenty of organic options. You can tell the store has a buyer who cares about quality. Again, with exceptions. They occasionally sell Sunset brand products, like tomatoes, which are not good. They should do better quality control on tomatoes. Also, there are many bagged veggies, like spinach and salads, which can contain spoilage and are best avoided. I wish they would eliminate these, but I guess people like them because the veggies are pre-washed. But there are plenty of fresh alternatives to these. The meat and chicken section also is good quality, but can be pricey, except they have an excellent deal on Bell & Evans chickens, which are top-notch. (They also offer cheap mass-produced Perdue chickens which are tasteless, but can be avoided.) The butchered meat selection is not huge, more select, but good quality and reasonably priced. However, if you're going for processed packaged meats, like sausages and other deli cuts, they have tons of high-quality imports, along with quality sliced ham, turkey, and other cold cuts that they package themselves. Their fresh fish selection is small, but good quality and not cheap. Smoked fish, though? Huge selection. Then there's the cheese -- a superb curated spread that's massive considering the size of the store, with many great prices. One picayune exception: their house-made fresh mozzarella is bland. Luckily they have other brands. Garden Gourmet obviously prides itself on their house-made products, including bean salads, olives, slaw, potato salads, etc. -- and these are uniformly good. They also offer a TON of prepared cooked food for take-home meals, but I never buy that stuff because I cook for myself. It sure looks and smells good though. The GG has a HUGE selection of locally sourced bread off all types that blows away any supermarket. Also a nice pick of cakes and pies and other baked goods that are either house made or locally sourced. One other criticism of GG: Their coffee beans are inferior. I wish they'd get a new supplier for these. Othewise there is SO MUCH more I could say about this store -- like discuss their IMMENSE selection of products imported from mainly Eastern European countries -- but I've blabbed on enough. If the Garden Gourmet ever closed down I'd be shattered.”
“This Trader Joe’s is so busy at all hours of the day and week. But they keep it well stocked and clean. I’m always able to pick up what I need and despite the intimidatingly long line, I am able to check out within a reasonable amount of time and the staff are friendly.”
“An all-time favorite. Amazing food and wonderful staff.
Recommend the chili chicken momo or samosa chaat. I pick up something from here at least once a week.”
“Tomer is awesome! No other way to explain it. Hungry? He got you covered. Just want a snack? He got you covered. Want some authentic Israeli food? He got you covered!”
“I am so happy this store opened!
Fresh ORGANIC fruit and vegetables - and prices are very reasonable for these.
They have a loyalty program also.
I can find all the healthy grocery and pantry items here, as well as haircare and household.
Fabulous vegan products, including vegan meat and dairy. They do also carry regular meat and dairy.
Very lovely, friendly and helpful people working in the store.
Love Austin Organic!”
“Trader Joe's is a NYC staple to be able to purchase quality food for not as much as other chains. But....it's not the cheapest either. It's the atmosphere, employees and selection that make it worth it.”
“They are up to their task. Receive customers well. U can get almost everything an African needs from there. Prices are moderate as compared to others that I know.”
“Such a wonderful store! I got so many mezze and Mediterranean essentials here, and as a Turkish customer, I was genuinely so happy to find items from home — Turkish spices, pişmaniye, biber salçası, and more. It honestly made my day.
Their Lebanese selection is amazing as well — fresh, flavorful, and full of things you don’t easily find elsewhere.
I’d highly suggest you to try the everything salmon skewers and all mezzes… prices are very reasonable though.
The store is clean, organized, and the staff is friendly. So glad to have this place in the Williamsburg! Highly recommend. ??”
“Great selection of staples, as well as more unique (local!) and even vegan items. The layout is well thought out, and they’ve made very good use of the space. Bonus points for having consistently fantastic music playing. Grateful to have this in the neighborhood!”

“Sakura ya is a good place to get food and snacks. They have riceballs, sushi's, curries and more. But, the AC inside is angled in a very strange way so you kinda have to find the best place to stand if you want to get cold.”

“I always shop here, my parents even started shopping here faithfully. Sometimes we don’t know where an item is but the associates and cashiers always get us what we’re looking for. I’ve been shopping here for YEARS and I mostly cash out at the register with Stephanie. She always so welcoming and kind making sure I got everything I was looking for. She’s amazing!! I remember going there on her day off and was so disappointed that I missed her! Her personality was made for greeting guests and making this supermarket feel like home. 10/10 my fruits and veggies are always fresh and doesn’t spoil the next day.”
“This store is very friendly and helpful many times I didn't have enough to get my toddler the snacks he desired but the guy would often let me slide in the most nice way and I noticed the kindness and sit I appreciate it wish there were more people out here like him because a lot of us single moms struggle low key”
“The best market in the area! Valentino’s is a classic, they have great prices for fruits and vegetables. There’s also a butcher in the back and lots of pantry staples in between. There’s a deli counter just to the right when you walk in. It’s very good which is why is very busy pretty much always. My dad used to have a power scooter and actually went in here and navigated around. I have no idea how, it’s challenging enough on two feet but they must’ve helped him get whatever he needed.
I always find a great selection here. They have a variety of imported goods. While they’re known for Italian specialties, they have a variety of other things here as well. My last visit I picked up Nopal (popular item in Mexican cuisine), Tipperary butter imported from Ireland, fresh ricotta from the deli section, and many produce items that looked too good to pass up. Come in and support your local markets, that’s what will keep your prices low and quality high!”
“I walked into the store when they first opened their doors and had the pleasure of meeting Dhira, the new store owner! So helpful and knowledgeable about products and totally not a pushy salesman! Have met two other young men that work there and they too were so helpful and knowledgeable! The thing I find most impressive is that they always remember me when I walk in and I have always been greeted with a smile upon my entry! Loyal customer forever! Thank you! ?”
“Store is amazing, being a diabetic I couldn’t have most drink options, so I asked the owner if he could supply a brand for me. Next week it was there! I’m so thankful and appreciative of them for this. Will always have my business.”
“We’ve been shopping here for years and have never had a bad experience. It’s where we go for all our middle eastern ingredients. Feta and tahini are always perfect. Best price on quality fresh roasted coffee you will find in the city”
“Worth a trip just for the sorrel and ginger beer, both delicious and available in large sizes. Sorrel in particular is among the best I’ve had, not too sweet and all the spices come through. Great selection of spices and seasoning blends too.”
“Village Barn is great and it’s my neighborhood supermarket and you can find high quality inexpensive products. I was so happy that they carry Lovebird cereals, Natural Heaven, Miracle Noodles, Palmini, which are all non gmo paleo products just to name a few. I hope they continue to stock these products because I’m planning to buy these weekly. They also carry Lakewood Organic Fresh press juices. I have recommended friends and family that don’t live in the neighborhood to shop here!”
“Love this place, The only downside is that it's so crowded. It's crowded because it's awesome. Customer service os fantastic and the cashier's seem to love their jobs. The food is affordable and taste even better.
Another big issue is the parking lot, But they have nothing to do with that.”
“I love going here. The produce is fresh (sometimes a bit more expensive), there is good variety, the store has cute decor, and their employees are super nice and friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience. :)”

“I love this place super clean (especially for being in the Bronx) the guys that work there are the nicest, food and produce is always fresh and their prices are reasonable considering the inflation”
“Love this Hmart! They have a huge food court ( love their food) and newly opened art box store inside the mart. It is so spacious, neat and you can find anything you need for Korean grocery and other asian grocery needs. I wish you can open hmart store in the South Bronx or even near Harlem.”
“Sooo much good stuff at way better prices than supermarket. Great fresh produce. They have a really small but awesome meat dept where they’re getting fresh stuff every day.”
“Best fruit store in Greenpoint. They always have the freshest produce that is worth every penny. Everyone who works there is very sweet and helpful. The owners are wonderful. I always get the pre cut papaya, which is always fresh and very sweet. They are the best by far in the neighborhood hands down! .”
“Store was very clean and organized. Employees were most helpful. The owner introduced himself and personally helped me. Excellent butcher but Most importantly, the prices were good.”
