“What an amazing store! Lots of unique sets that are hard to find elsewhere. I thought the Creator New York Postcard for $14.99 was a good souvenir. Lots of big sculptures to take pictures of. Upstairs, you can even have a go at the Personalization Studio or create your own mini-figurines. Even if you don't buy anything, it's still worth a visit”

“FAO Schwarz in NYC holds a special place in our hearts. My husband and I had such an amazing time there with our 8-year-old daughter, filled with nostalgia and joy. Walking through the aisles, we couldn't help but reflect on our childhood memories of visiting the best toy store in the world. From the iconic giant piano to the endless shelves of toys, every corner brought back cherished moments. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall fantastic experience. FAO Schwarz truly captures the magic of childhood and creates unforgettable memories for visitors of all ages.”

“It has a bit of everything. And if you like boardgames, it's worth visiting if only to take a closer look at the games, RPG figures, dice, Magic cards, and everything else that this large library has.I found the prices to be very similar to those found on the internet.”

“Best toy store and craft store where you can art supplies, celebratory balloons, poster boards etc…! The employee that day was super helpful! He helped me pick out a celebratory balloon, and was very knowledgeable on selecting toys for a newborn :) 10/10 will always come here for any supplies and craft shopping I need. Support local businesses!”

“Staff were very friendly and even smiled. They didn't talk on telephone while trading with us, they laughed, made eye contact, thanked us for coming in, even though we paid them $10 in quarters.”

“There is something adorable about a shop that specializes in incongruous antiques such as vintage smoking items, lighters, and ashtrays as well as vintage games and candy.Named after the owner's dog this little shop is mighty. You may not realize what you need from this shop but if not a Dunhill lighter perhaps the Mad Magazine board game? Perhaps just a snack of some vintage candy and a Bazooka gum-flavored soda. You won’t know until less you go. So just walk in, this shop doesn’t disappoint”

“Playing Mantis is an enchanting little store. I absolutely love shopping here for children’s toys. They specialise in beautiful wooden toys and have a great range. Most of all, the service is WONDERFUL! I can’t speak highly enough of the friendly, patient and helpful service I have received as a shopper here. Thank you to all of the Playing Mantis staff- you are amazing!”

“A cool stop if you like geeky, nerdy, anime, etc ! Selection: I was actually pretty surprised by the selection they had ! They had everything from vintage toys/collectors items to modern ones - Godzilla to Star Trek to Sanrio ! They also have a lot of trading cards and a whole floor of anime figures Shop layout: It was a bit crowded for me between the shelving and the people but that did make it more exciting to potentially find a treasure ! Things to note: There is a lower level full of anime figures. This does have a flight of narrow stairs to get down. I didn't buy anything but it was definitely fun to browse”

“Always will have a soft spot for this comic shop. I've spent many of hours years back at this place. Purchasing comics and/or action figures. Huge section of stuff to fill your inner geek. Employees have always been friendly & helpful. Prices are pretty much what you'd expect from a comic book store in the city. Two thumbs all the way up!”

“Overall, our experience here was better than I expected. Be ready to drop a good amount of money there if you are purchasing a doll, clothes, food and enjoying the salon (more than $300), but it is a special experience for children! My favorite part of the store is the cafe! Make sure to make your reservation months in advance since they weren't taking any walk ins. For $27/person, you get unlimited drinks, three tiered plated apps and an entree. I had the Cobb salad which was great. Options for the kids included mac and cheese, chicken tenders and pizza. The apps included meatballs, fried ravioli, cucumber with some whipped cream cheese on top and fruit. The food was pretty average but the service was outstanding and made the experience! Everyone there was so great with children and worked extra hard to make sure the experience was fun for everyone. Kids get to bring their dolls or can borrow one. They provide a high chair for the doll to sit next to the child. We had also purchased the birthday package which included a cake, ice cream and a gift bag (which included a birthday American girl doll outfit) for $40/table. We were so full so they boxed up the cake for us to take home and we picked at the ice cream. They had games at the table to entertain the kids while waiting for the food! I'd highly recommend for a child's birthday or special occasion. The rest of the store was not too busy on a Friday mid day. We had made the girls salon appts ahead of time as well. Prices of the salon were a little pricey but it's an experience that the girls will remember. The energy of the employees and how they interacted with the children reminded me of Disney employees; fun and engaging!”

“I've been a client for three decades - there is nowhere else I would ever consider going to for prescriptions, shots, or pharmacy purchases. Ivan's is an oasis of small town goodness and care/compassion in the midst of a cold cruel city. I am so grateful to Ivan, Carmen, Khan, and the entire staff for their kindness, efficiency and continual good cheer. They put the 'neighbor' in 'neighborhood'.”

“So it's not actually a store but its a decent sized section on the 7th Floor of Macy's. I'm still glad to see them though as I thought it was a big loss when they closed all their stores. They have the toys broken out in sections themes, mostly by brand. GI Joe, He-Man, Marvel, DC, etc. There are dozens of sections. There is also a play ground of the very little ones and an interactive 3D section as well. Great to see Toys R Us back!”

“Yes, it's expensive... but well worth it. Service is spectacular (I was shopping for birthday presents for my 1-year old twin nieces.) Great suggestions, great stock. Ask questions, give your budget and they'll help you out. Both clothes and toys are available and unique.”

“I wanted to give 2 stars to unhappy cashier, but another staff member was working hard and so nice to us, so I looked over it. Build-A-Bear is good for custom the doll and make it unique and only one for you. The price is high for the doll but if it is a special gift, why not? I spend over hours at the workshop including waiting line for stuff the doll.”

“We’ve been to the Encanto experience and Trolls experience. My daughter loved both. It’s pricey but worth the experience. I do think the encanto experience was better than Trolls. If you have sensitive kids, I advise going to the first show, especially during the week.”

“This is exactly what a community pharmacy should be like! They know their neighbors, serve the needs of the community and are compassionate. It is because of gems like Corner Chemist that I dislike going to generic businesses like Rite Aid or Duane Reade.”

“NYC longest continually running toy store, Mary Arnold Toys is a gem and I'm so glad we found it on our recent trip. They have toys and accessories for all ages, from newborn through tween. Our 6year old was enamored with the bedazzled swim goggles and picked up a new barbie. She used her new debit card to pay and the lady working at the counter was so patient as she navigated remembering her pin, taking much longer to pay than I'm sure most customers do. We will certainly return on our next visit!”
