“Best bank in NC. The Durham branch specifically is absolutely great. They support my business like they are a part of the team. Calls about random checks to make sure they are right, calls me if any of my accounts are low so I can move money, and have a ton of business services. I have recently changed my merchant services over and that has been exceptional as well.
From Ian, Stafford, and Brooke at the teller window to Beth and Katie who always ask how business is and great me by name, thanks.
In an industry that is just not typically fun or exciting to go to these guys stand out with great customer service!”

The ladies here always know what they are doing and times I’ve come and there were multiple customers they were so proficient and serviced everyone without a long wait. “I opened a bank account with them just off the bank interaction alone. ?? When I came in, the man at the front desk told me it’d be a 30-40 minute wait. I didn’t mind; I had nowhere to be. A banker came out and told me his appointment had never showed, so he was able to take me. He was the sweetest person I ever met in banking. He was very informative; we chatted about savings and buying a house. Which I didn’t know much about (I’m an 22 yr old student so I’m a little new to adulthood), but he basically gave me free advice ?, which I appreciate so much. I deposited money, and when I finished, he showed me around and how to work the ATM. I’ve been to many different banks, and none of them have done that. This place felt inviting and cozy. I was skeptical because of the reviews, but sometimes you have to get your own experience. I’m glad I did and it close to my home. So that’s a plus as long as I live in Durham I’ll come to this bank.”

“I am a Truist customer for years, have only had a few experiences at this local branch but they have consistently been good!

I recently called to ask about Medallion Signature guarantee - they didn’t have anyone who could help, but Marie called the other branches in the area until she found someone who could help me. Excellent customer service.

In the past, going inside to get cash withdrawals has been very easy. I have never had to wait for the drive thru ATM.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but I do deposit my checks online so I’ve never needed to do the drive-thru human teller - seems that others have had negative experiences in that area.”

“I don’t understand how Gil calls customers over and then completely ignores me, and turns around to do other things without a greeting or “please give me a minute and I’ll be right with you” (which I totally wouldn’t mind waiting if he would communicate instead of helping NON EXISTENT drive thru customers). Literally stood there for 5 minutes before going with another teller. Other 2 ladies there were super nice and helpful :)”

“I like this location a decent amount. I have been going here for my occasional banking needs for about 5 years now and never had any issues. However, there was one interaction a few months ago that rubbed me the wrong way. The bank teller who assisted me asked me why I wasn’t smiling. I was wearing a mask, but they said they still could tell I wasn’t smiling because “it’s in your eyes.” I told them that I didn’t have to smile if I didn’t want to. I thought it was very odd. I have been a cashier in the fast food and retail industries and have had customers and managers tell me to smile, and I would never dare to tell a service worker that. So for a bank teller to ask me, a customer, to smile… again, it was very odd.”

“I have used this credit union for more than 30 years, and used it to set up secondary accounts for my mother or children, to help them learn to manage money. They are not flashy, but very competent and straightforward, and can provide a good place to start a new account, manage a consumer loan, and other banking needs. I appreciate that their staff is often consistent, well trained, and able to spend time to explain things. Glad we have this option in our community! Even though I use another bank for my business (DFCU does not handle business accounts) I have always kept this account open and value the local accessibility, and convenient use options.”
