Thompson Animal Hospital
1635 Pageland Hwy, MonroeI hope there was a 10 star review, I have unfortunately go through the process of putting a pet to sleep a few times, but this is the first one I’ve ever feel so much empathy for what we were going through, the staff was professional yet very kind, they gave us the best alternative not only for us but my elderly cat, we went today for his remains and the way they delivered literally brought tears from us, they went the extra mile, think about everything, we got a beautiful bag with his paw print, signed card with notes from the star and a little bag of his hair… it was amazing, thank you so much !!!

Franklin Court Grille
232 E Franklin St, MonroeCeliac? Gluten sensitivity? This is your place. Living with Celiac or having a gluten intolerance is frustrating by itself. It becomes much more frustrating when you go to a restaurant and you tell the server your issue, and they look at you like you're an alien from another planet… or worse… get frustrated with you. I've lost count of how many places I've had to walk out of because I knew just from speaking to them that it wasn't safe for me to eat there. That doesn't happen here. Not only do they have plenty of gluten-free options (which are well labeled on the menu)... But the staff also seem to be well trained on how to handle the questions that we may have. I had a server specifically ask me one time after I ordered a gluten-free bun if I was Celiac…that has never happened before…anywhere. (I've been here enough now that they pretty much all know without me having to even say it anymore, but that's beside the point.) The staff and owners have always been extremely friendly whenever we are there. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, and it's just an overall great experience for us every time we go. It means a tremendous amount to be able to sit down at a table and not really worry about how I'm going to feel 30 minutes after I leave because someone in the kitchen or the server themselves doesn't understand how to handle my food after I tell them my issue. It SHOULD be this easy everywhere, but those of us that deal with it everyday know that it's not. If you're looking for a place that serves great food, with staff that understands what it means to be careful with cross-contamination and what you're served, this is your place. Communicate with them clearly, and you will not be disappointed.?

Hathaways Fried Chicken
1310 W Roosevelt Blvd, MonroeYou can tell a place is special when the aroma hits you before you even step inside, and when people are happily digging into their takeout before leaving. Hathaways Chicken-n-Biscuits definitely gives that vibe.
I love discovering longtime mom-and-pop restaurants because they feel like hidden treasures. This spot has that classic southern grandmother’s kitchen energy—warm, cozy, and full of heart. It is southern comfort food at its very best.
The restaurant is clearly a local favorite, with steady customers coming in and out. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The cashier noticed I was new and took the time to guide me through the menu, suggesting the Businessman, which I gladly ordered.
Every bite showed care and attention. The tea and lemonade were perfectly sweet, and the fried chicken was crispy with just the right seasoning. The sides were excellent as well, especially the green beans which had a nice firm texture, not mushy like at other places. And the best part is how affordable it all was, under ten dollars.
Even as a first-time visitor, I felt completely at home. This will definitely not be my last visit. If you are in Monroe and craving warm hospitality and delicious southern food, Hathaways is a must-visit.

Her puppies are beautiful, well socialized and healthy. Our veterinarian actually asked who our Sunshine’s breeder was because she was impressed….our vet is not easily impressed. Communication throughout the the entire process was impeccable. Watch your puppy grow and develop from birth to eight weeks on Facebook with multiple videos weekly.
