“Excellent customer service. From the moment I walked through the door, they offered assistance. They were able to help me find the things I had searched previously online and compare them to some of their other items. It was a great visit and in the end I left with quite the deal. Adding to my previous review, the delivery guys were amazing. Very efficient and friendly. They were able to get my stuff in the rooms I desired in an organized format. “Great place. They have good range of made-to-order solid wood furniture which is a great antidote to rickety, flat-pack disposable stuff that they sell at you-know-where. They offer all manner of wall coverings. But their true superpower is mixing and matching paint. Bring in a shred of your 20 year old colour and they will mix you up a new can that will be an exact or so near as to be imperceptible. Their staff are totally authentic, friendly and very knowledgeable. It's about as far from trendy as you can be, but you're going there because you want stuff that will outlast wave after wave of trend and still look good in 20 years, yes? Yes. I thought so. Now go get your samples and get over there.”

“West of Main is such a beautiful furniture and home decor store with a really curated, elevated, asthetic. They also offer design services although I personally haven’t used those. I’ve purchased several smaller decor items from them over time and have been very happy with the quality and overall experience.
That being said, I would recommend being cautious when ordering online, especially during warehouse or final sale events. I recently purchased an item from their warehouse sale that looked quite different in person than it did online, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, because it was final sale, I wasn’t able to return it.
Overall, they carry some stunning pieces and I’ve had mostly positive experiences, but I do think their online photos/descriptions could better reflect the actual products customers receive.”

Even though the manufacturer denied any warranty the store owner Jane made it right and replaced the chair with a new one at no cost to us. “My husband and I were downsizing from our home and moving to a condo. We had previously been to Total Home Consignment to look around and picked up a couple of decorative pieces.
We decided to check them out once again! The customer service is excellent, courteous, professional and friendly all at the same time. Steve listened to what we needed and presented different options to accommodate our new space taking into consideration storage. Very laid back and open to discussion and provided his insight.
There was a delay in delivery (from wild fires out west) of our bed frame. Steve although through no fault of his own or Total Home Consignment of the delay, Steve provided a metal bed frame and delivered it, had it built so we would have a frame while waiting for our bed to arrive. Beyond customer service.
Joel is also a great asset to the team with his ready smile and helpful manner makes customers feel comfortable wandering the space whether you buy or not.

“Have been visiting this store for almost 20 years now, and I am very surprised to read the negative reviews. Ross, my husband, and I talk on every visit. We catch up on each other's family. Ross is patient and I ramble on regarding the latest world event, and I learn a lot from him; he is very well read.
In terms of the service - top drawer! Hence our shopping there for almost 20 years. Delusions of Grandeur is our first stop whenever we need anything for the house: furniture, wall decor, figurines - anything.
If I want something custom made, Ross will take a sketch or inspiration photo and measurements, get us an estimate, and approximately 4 or 5 months later the items arrives - Perfect and fits in the house as expected.
Have always found Ross to be courteous, friendly, patient. He is not pushy. He gives us space to walk around and look around and think. I really appreciate that.
Have found the products to be beautifully made, durable, and perfect!
My home has Delusions of Grandeur items from the foyer to the basement to the upper level.
It is wonderful in a town like Ottawa to find a breath of beautiful fresh air in decor options.
The choices in this town can be limited: when I am looking for a statement piece or a piece that is unique. Glad we have Ross and his store.

Their furniture looks good and is long lasting. Plus, most of their furniture is customizable!! I haven't seen this anywhere else. Color, fabric/leather, add cristals or buttons, even extending pr shortening length and width. Truly a hidden gem.”
