Nate is very anxious, yet Eric is extremely patient with him. I really, really appreciate that. He also always does such a fantastic job grooming Nate, and always has availability for us! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and were craving some pasta. I came across La Grotta on Google Maps and made a reservation online, mentioning that my wife is pregnant and that we would appreciate comfortable seating.
When we arrived, Neil greeted us warmly and brought us to a table with cushioned seats, which my wife really appreciated. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, recommending some of their best dishes and checking on us throughout the evening without ever being intrusive.
Everything we ordered was delicious. My personal favorite was the grilled truffle calamari. The carbonara was excellent, the spaghetti pescatore was very good, and the pizza was also delicious. Everything had its own unique flavor compared to the other restaurants we usually visit, but in the best way. We only wish we had more room to try even more dishes but we were already so full!
To top off the evening, Neil surprised us with a complimentary chocolate cake for our anniversary, and it was delicious as well.
I believe great service deserves to be recognized, so I want to thank Neil for making our anniversary dinner extra special. This was our first visit to La Grotta, but it certainly won’t be our last.

Il Postino
186 Main St Unionville, UnionvilleRecently went to Il Postino with my best friend for a nice lunch, since she had been hyping it up for a while. Got the Rigatoni Vodka and it was soo amazing, I would probably say one of the best restaurant pastas I have ever gotten as an Italian who loves pasta (the pasta is not rigatoni though, it’s pipe rigate, which I prefer more than rigatoni so it’s okay). We also got the Rucola salad which was amazing, and my friend got the Pappardelle Funghi which had a great truffle and mushroom flavour. Overall great experience with the food.
The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because when trying to pay, my friend wanted to pay with cash. The server came back after a few moments and said they don’t have any cash in the till to provide her with change. Kind of strange for a restaurant not to have any cash in a till so I guess if you would like to come here expect to pay card only. Service was super fast so that was a plus!
