I received the best service ever! Pet Valu
1, 5200 Yonge St Unit 1, North YorkI visit here often. I’m always greeted by a rather odd “staff” that always sleeps on the job. Sometimes, I notice the staff playing on the clock, but when I try to checkout, this certain staff seems to get the job done by pressing random buttons on the keyboard.
He’s a really odd fella, but he always seems to be punctual to the job (does he sleep there or something?)
Anyway, see this wonderful gentleman’s work ethic for yourself.

Global Pet Foods
1947 Avenue Road, Felbrigg Ave unit 1, North YorkRosemary has always been there for all of my pets and never steers me wrong! I have a very sensitive and picky dog. She has been a wealth of knowledge in helping me navigate through all of her issues. One of my first visits I was so distraught and didn’t know what to do with my pup and all the vet did was keep giving her more meds and told me to feed chicken and rice (which with rosemary’s help I found out she is allergic to chicken). It wasn’t until Rosemary changed the food completely and even went as far as opening a can right in the store and making little meat balls and started to feed her, that things started getting better. I have never experienced this amount of sincere kindness and concern, dedication and knowledge, especially not in this area. Rosemary always helps me through my dogs flare ups. I’d be lost without her. Can’t imagine going anywhere else. I owe her so much for helping my little one when I felt hopeless. She is truly an angel.

Pet Valu
895 Lawrence Ave E, North YorkI can't express my gratitude enough for the staff at PetValu especially Alex M. My dog Bucky had a really bad experience with another groomer at another big pet store, and my husband and I have been so hesitant with trying to find a new groomer for him. I was recommended this location for grooming and am so happy with the result! Bucky was so happy and cheerful after his groom, which was a huge improvement from his previous experience! I know Bucky can be a handful but everyone there was so welcoming and sweet with him. Thank you again!!! 10/10 would definitely recommend

Pet Grooming

Hello Pets Inc.
172 Sheppard Ave W, North YorkI am a big fan of the work and services of Hello Pets. Efseneh is the best groomer I’ve ever know and now all my neighbors send their dogs to her and are as happy! They take appointments quickly too so you don’t have to wait weeks once you decide it is time to get your pup groomed.

The Groom Room All-Breed Pet Grooming Inc, since 1990
138 B Willowdale Ave, North YorkThe Groom Room was absolutely amazing with my dog! The updates throughout her appointment were incredible—I received both videos and photos showing how she was doing, which really put my mind at ease. The transparency, communication, and overall service were outstanding.
I was pleasantly surprised at how calm she was during drop off. She wasn’t reactive or barking at all, which is unusual since she can be anxious in new environments. It was clear she felt comfortable and was in great hands.
She came home looking beautiful, smelling great, and feeling fresh - I couldn’t be happier with the experience and would definitely recommend The Groom Room!

Chien Elegant
136 Felbrigg Ave, North YorkMy dog Ringo is an older dog and his groomer quit a few years ago. Since then we have struggled to find the right fit: someone who both does a good job and is comfortable with Ringo’s biting tendencies as he’s grown uncomfortable with being groomed these days and my god did we find it here! Laurie is hands down the best groomer. She also is affordable! and if not for her Ringo might not be here as she checks his anal glands and she was the one to realize he has cancer which we are treating right now.

Toronto North Animal Hospital
223 Sheppard Ave W, North YorkI cannot express my gratitude enough. Doctor T and his whole team are just simply wonderful. My dog Farley had a tumor growing in his anal gland and needed removal. Not many places do this surgery and its very expensive! Dr. T not only reassured me that it can be done, but it was also done at a reasonable cost! The whole team has been wonderful from the updates and constant communication to how they treat you when you walk in. Our animals are our family, and when things go wrong we stress...we embody it and project it and this facility makes you feel at ease in those moments. Thank you so much to the whole team. Farley is so thankful.

VCA Canada Willowdale Animal Hospital
256 Sheppard Ave W, North YorkI had an amazing experience at this animal hospital. From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind, compassionate, and genuinely cared about my puppy, Benny.
A special thank you to Dr. Hong for providing such excellent care. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure Benny was comfortable throughout his treatment.
What impressed me the most was their outstanding follow-up. They checked on Benny several times over the following weeks to see how he was doing, which really showed how much they care about their patients even after the visit.
The level of professionalism, kindness, and dedication from the entire team was exceptional. I truly felt that Benny was in the best hands. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for a veterinary team that genuinely cares about their pets. Thank you so much for everything!

The Links Road Animal & Bird Clinic
41 The Links Rd, North YorkThis veterinary team is absolutely outstanding. They have been there for every little thing my guinea pigs have experienced, and the care they provide to direly unwell exotic pets is above and beyond. I recently lost one of my guinea pigs, Rhoda, very unexpectedly due to undetected heart disease, and although she passed in-hospital, I know the entire team did the absolute best they could for her.
I highly recommend the whole team, and particularly Dr. Nur and Dr. Mavromatis, for their expertise, amazing husbandry, and empathetic bedside manner. Marika at the front desk is absolutely stellar as well.
I can't say enough good about this clinic!

Pet Sitting & Training

Cat's Dream Cat Sitting
23 Hollywood Ave, North YorkTed is a great cat sitter. I recently used his cat sitting services while I was away on vacation and it was a great experience. From the first meeting, Ted was professional, friendly, and communicative. During my time away, I received regular updates (messages, photos, and videos). For a few days after I had returned from vacation, my cat Liberty would linger by the door around the time Ted would visit... I think she missed his daily visits!! Anyway, I highly recommend Ted to anyone looking for a reliable and experienced cat sitter in the neighborhood.

The Bark Zone
150 Dell Park Ave, North YorkI can’t say enough great things about the Bark Zone. We have been with the Bark Zone for 22 years. The founder Jenny has clearly created something special- every member of the team from the office staff Tracey to the walkers/boarders (too many to name!) to the groomer Karen and others over the years treats your dog like their own. Whether it’s training or boarding there is a consistent level of professionalism and compassion that really stands out. It’s rare to find a place where you feel this level of trust. Jenny the Queen alpha has called me on numerous occasions to check on our dogs after surgery or illness. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and thoughtful team for their dog.

The Cups (Finch)
5647 Yonge St, North YorkWe've been on a bit of a bingsu kick so finally tried The Cups. We ordered the large matcha bingsu which was around $20-25. Good size portion for two people to have, and it was mostly good. We really liked the almond chips and the mochi, and we felt that they didn't skimp on the matcha powder which is nice.
Where it missed the mark a bit for us is the green tea ice cream was actually freezer burnt and made it a bit difficult to eat. There was also a bit of clumping with the snow near the bottom.
This place seems to be really popular on weekends so it might be hard to get a seat.

THE 5TH TASTE SUSHI RESTAURANT
362 Wilson Ave, North YorkMy usual go to for sushi and Japanese food. Every time I eat here the food is always delicious! I usually go around lunch and a lot of the times it can be empty or have a couple groups of people inside. Dinner can get very busy though.
My favourites are the Japanese croquettes, galbi, chicken gyoza, tempura and the salmon sushi. Their bento boxes are the best as well, I usually go for the chicken katsu bento. They also offer complimentary ice cream which is the best too. Staff is incredibly kind which, along with the amazing food has me coming back here a lot!

Toronto Wildlife Centre
60 Carl Hall Rd Unit 4, North YorkOn a walk this morning, I saw a raccoon in distress in the Charles Sauriol Conservation area ( in my view, likely distemper). I called 311 and was directed to TWC. Within 10 minutes of me leaving a message, I received a callback. I found the level of communication exceptional and staff were on-site within an hour. The prompt response likely spared the raccoon hours of suffering. Thank you TWC staff.
