“The entire staff here are upbeat, friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are good and their inventory is always changing which is great. If you're looking for an aftermarket shoe/clothing/memorabilia this is definitely the place!”
“I’ve been shopping at sellwood union for about 4 years now. My entire closet is from this shop!! They have the coolest staff, and many different sections with different curated vibes (I’ve found my favorite sellers and sections over the years). Everyone asks me where I get my clothes from and it’s here ;) (+ ton of good eats nearby)”
“We love this place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Be sure to check out the trash panda shrine and community space -- too cool. Dont miss the very reasonably priced selection of used records.
It is also in a fun neighborhood with other neat shops (vintage, records, and more) and great places to eat/drink”
“This place has great vibes, great prices, and great inventory. The rooms just kept appearing and we spent over an hour just perusing!! Plus they have a little bookshelf with some bangers, a selection of funny repurposed trophies, and art! This place really has it all. You’ll regret not going here if you’re a thrifter, and even if you’re not! 5/5 stars.”
“Excellent personalized customer service. Very reasonable resale prices compared to many other locally owned children's gear/clothing resale shops. I very much appreciate this place and visit at least once a month, and you should too!”
“Zoe is a fantastic shopkeeper and all around great person. Very kind and gave great advice on all my pieces. Nice to meet great people in cute boutiques like this around the Portland area! Will definitely be recommending to all my friends who are looking for unique pieces!”
“It isn't often you stumble upon a consignment store that makes shopping this fun. The colors & textures in this store bring so much life to the shopping experience. I walked away with four unique, new items I love! The help from Anya & Sammy was low-pressure and they were so kind. Will be back to consign some of my own items!”
“Michael is the best and is so knowledgeable about the furniture he carries. We have bought a beautiful MCM dining table and chairs as well as a gorgeous chair. His prices are so reasonable and we can’t wait to keep furnishing our house with his beautiful finds!”
“This place is an eternal treasure trove of beautiful, rare finds. I always leave with a smile on my face, a record I've longed for, or a record I never knew I wanted, a previously loved book of any variety of genre, maybe some colorful vintage pants, a piece of local crafted art, and a full heart from good connection with fellow shoppers and with Jesse and Kristen. Broken Dreams is a true Portland gem !”
“I really enjoy shopping here and have found some great pieces, but I’ve started to notice some frustrations with the selling process. The biggest issue for me is the lack of transparency. When I bring in high-quality items, they often sell, but I don’t see much of the profit. I also have no idea how much the store sells my items for, since you only find out what you earned afterward. On top of that, if an item doesn’t sell, it may end up being donated without much communication.
I still appreciate the store, but I think clearer information about pricing, profit sharing, and what happens to unsold items would make the experience a lot better for sellers”
“I love this shop! At first it looks like you’re about to walk into a club but it reveals a cool vintage clothing & witchy crystal shop. I had two tarot readings with Carey who is very insightful. Her readings really help with getting the brain juices flowing when you’re at a crossroad. The employees have always been very friendly and helpful.”
“The memory done is so cool!!!! this was recommended by a friend who knows how much I like vintage malls.
Took my son we ended up being there for well over 3 1/2 hours. There’s a basement a middle floor and an upstairs. Packed with many vendors something for everyone..
There were also these really cool chests and checkerboards on the different floors where you could play. There was a TV in the basement. I think it was like GTA for FreePlay as well as old style televisions playing old videos.. I wanna go back!
It would make for a really great date with your girlfriend or your mate or even your kids, def fun for a weekend of outing of browsing..”
“New to town and I wondered in the store after eating dinner. The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I bought a few crystals and perused the items. Definitely will have to return so I can look at things better. There was so much to see and so much jewelry that was gorgeous.”
“Purchased some overalls for my wife from Flutter at the famous Mississippi street fair and of course got the wrong size! They exchanged happily a few days later. Very nice attentive service, thank you”
“this place is legit - you can find actual real quality vintage selection here, none of that cheap modern garbage u know what i mean. i've found some bangers here every time. goooo!”
“Incredible spot. Spent 2 days visiting every vintage/thrift shop in Portland and this place had the best solid wood furniture out of anywhere.
Guy was really knowledgable and friendly. Got a beautiful drop leaf table and couldn't be happier with it.”
“Absolute gem on Division. I don't think I've ever walked out of their empty-handed. They're always getting new stuff and the selection is very well curated.”
“This is the best vintage shop in NoPo! Very well curated and stocked with goodies.
Stephanie (the owner) is not only knowledgeable, but is a great person; I will never forget seeing her passing-out warm clothing from her store stock to the housless community during a cold winter day in the St. Johns' Square. What a badass!”
“I’ve found some really cute pieces here! The prices are on the higher side, but if you wait a couple weeks, you can normally find things in the sale section. They also have a lot of fun community events!”
“Modo was extremely helpful. I brought in a lot of clothes and they quickly responded. I especially like the fact that the clothes they didn't think would sell, they donated to Rose Haven, a wonderful refuge for women.”
“Omg, talk about a whole store full of treasures! The owner, Kim, is a collector and finds everything herself. She is super kind and helpful and the prices are some of the best I've seen in Portland. Literally so many amazing things!”
“i have shopped here twice and i have gotten some of my favorite pieces in my closet each time!!!! love love love this small shop. also want to add they have a wonderful selection of plus size clothing!”
“Zig Zag is a fantastic local second-hand clothing store, a little bit of everything for adults. There are lots of great shirts, jackets, and sweaters. Fun t-shirts to browse through, and the employees are all generally happy. Fun to shop where the employees like what they do.”
“Lovingly curated, adorable & chic little boutique with a bit of everything. Bought a very nerdy zine and a cute dress, could've spent hours there with someone else's money. :)”
“Shopping at Xtabay may be the most exquisite vintage shopping experience I've ever had (and I shop at a lot of vintage stores!). The store is breathtakingly beautiful and well-curated. I imagine this is what it would have been like shopping at fancy department stores back in their heyday. I'm not local, but I always stop into Xtabay when I visit Portland. Every boutique should aspire to be this exceptional!”
“Zero Wave is a great place to find nice clothing with natural fibers. It really seems like they are intentional with what they source and sell. I’m really impressed with their selection. I’ve already found three pieces that I enjoy and wear often. I will be going back! It’s definitely worth checking out. Devin is extremely friendly and helpful!”
“Awesome selection, very low prices (I appreciate this because I can afford more, but I also think they should charge more because it doesn't seem fair to them). I got a used, very good condition cardigan with mother of pearl buttons for $2, my friend got a handmade cold pack for $8. They also have hand knit baby clothes and plushies for very low prices. Other items I saw included bookmarks, pins, magnets, bags, decorations, soaps, candles, and quilts. Definitely going back!”
“This is one of my favorite little shops to stop by whenever I'm walking around on division. They always have the cutest clothes and Jewelry for great prices too. I totally recommend checking it out.”
“I have been shopping at Red Fox for a long time and always enjoy my experience. It’s fun and the people are always friendly without crowding me. I like to shop and listen to their great taste in music. I think they could use some new blood as some of the spaces seem a little stale. All in all good fun.”
“Excellent job by Zuko getting us the sleeper sofa we wanted.
Delivery by Ja'Quay and Jose went very well. They were careful and conscientious and extremely helpful. A big thank you to them and all the What's New Furniture staff that helped us.”
