“A nice selection of vintage clothing! Covers different styles and decades. There are men’s and women’s clothing items. I enjoyed the display outfits they had. They had a nice lingerie/undergarment rack which I bought a couple pieces from. The employees are friendly and helpful keeping the store in a neat order.”

“This is a great shop! They have limited hours and since I'm not in that part of the state often, it took me months to finally get inside! It was worth the wait! The staff (or they might be volunteers) are always friendly and helpful. The items are displayed beautifully and everything is clean. From the property to the events, it’s like stepping back in time, and yet, there is an effortless modern efficiency about it all. It’s family owned and you can TELL. Everyone cares deeply about you and oozes gratitude for your presence on their property. Their barn sales are always super well staffed and organized, the retreats feel like a true break from the real world- I can only imagine their weddings are a dream. I’m a fan for life!”

“This review is long overdue ... About six years ago, my daughter was shopping at retail stores for a prom dress, finding nothing (affordable) that she liked. A customer overheard us, and suggested that if we were willing to drive out to Skippack, there was a store that could almost definitely help. I looked it up on my phone - we could get there, but we'd arrive about ten minutes before they closed. I called the store, and the owner agreed to stay open late - just for us.We drove out there, and we were not disappointed. At first, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of merchandise available, but the kind owner spoke with my daughter for a few minutes, disappeared, and returned with three dresses. All three were viable candidates, and my daughter picked one of them. The price she charged for the dress, matching shoes, and a clutch was a mere fraction of what we would have paid for the dress alone at a retail store.This is not a typical store. If you browse by yourself, you may have a very difficult time finding what you're looking for. I would seriously consider making an appointment in advance. But the payoff is huge; the owner knows her stock extremely well, and customers should leverage this.”

“I visited the sister store of The Velvet Shoestring in Williamsburg, Virginia a short while ago, and was impressed with the high quality and broad variety of furniture, art and craft pieces on display, as well as the reasonable approach to pricing. Although the shop in Wayne, PA, is smaller than the other, it still carries a large cross section of similar items, although in a much tighter space that requires some balance and dexterity to walk among. We were most interested in benches that could be used in both our living room for extra seating, and our dining room when we had more guests than our chairs could accommodate. Secondarily, we are always looking for unique Asian decor pieces to supplement our Chinese oriented home. After exploring the two floors (careful on those basement stairs), we didn't find any benches that suited our space requirements, but did look thrice at a leather love sofa, and even take its measurements. Given the pricing policy, we decided to look carefully at home to see if we could use this beautiful couch somewhere in our home and return at a specific date when the price dropped. A gamble, but we are willing to accept the risk that it may be gone. As to the Asian pieces, I was most taken with the beauty and skill of a lacquered low bench (see photo) that was nearly suitable for framing. Wife didn't see the utility of it, and thought it might suffer at the hands of visiting grandchildren. I knew better than to challenge her empress opinions, so I walked away from it. Still, we enjoyed the browse enough to want to repeat it. I recommend reading Regina M's review for a clear description of how Shoestring works. She covered that better than I could. Happy Hunting!”
“Every time you walk through their doors there is a cheerful and kind person ready to greet you (especially Joanne).This is your reminder to clear out your closets and make an appointment to drop off your things. I recently dropped off some pieces and received a call from Joanne and Toni (the owner) that a pair of jeans were bought and the client found money in the pocket of the jeans. The honestly of their cliental to report finding money in the pocket and the owner/workers insisting to returning the money to me was so amazing. You are in great hands at this quaint Upscale Consignment Shop located in Malvern.”
“I'm not sure what price complaints are about. I found a flawless Jos Banks tux (won't need a single alteration) for $60. On a whim I decided to look for formal shoes and they happened to be on half price sale. A pair of all-leather Italians that listed for $6-700 in stores were $5.00 (like new.) Maybe men's stuff is cheaper here?”

“Love this shop! I moved from Philly to Bryn Mawr and was excited to have a trendy thrift store with parking 3 minutes from my house! The music and atmosphere are great and I find it relaxing to browse around every few weeks and see what’s new. It’s clean, the staff are very friendly and the items span basic $3 bin stuff to higher-end name brand…all priced very fairly.I found a dress for my bridal shower, practically brand new high top Vans sneakers, cozy sweaters for winter, dress pants and a top for a holiday party. I love the benefits of buying used for the environment, the thrill of the hunt, and getting a lot for a little. Hope this place sticks around for years to come! “I stopped in the store for something else... had no idea it was a consingment / ebay store. While chatting I saw a novelty item sellling for $50. I really wanted it so I'm like here's my $50 and was ready to take it off their hands. However, another person had reserved it although they hadn't been back to get it. So he did not sell it to me. I thought that was honorable. It had been a long while so he could have easily sold it to me and just given the other buyer their deposit back.”
