“Best Service I've Ever Gotten I have a trip to LA coming up and OF COURSE I waited until the absolute last minute to find outfits for partying. I didn't know what I wanted to wear or where to even start butttttt the manager, I'm sorry I missed her name, was so kind and patient and really threw herself into helping me find the right outfits to wear. She really went above and beyond helping me feel and look my best, so I'm very grateful for that. 10/10 recommend you shop here next time you don't know what to wear or just want to look good!”

“What an amazing experience! Excellent customer service and lovely people! High quality clean vintage furniture at a fair price. I am in love with my Nathan dining table and chairs from the 1960s. Impeccable.”

“cool selection of items but not much for plus sizes, prices are what you would expect from a curated vintage store rather than a regular thrift store, everything is $70+ but also good quality”

“Amazing staff who help you find what you need! The furniture and small items are gorgeous, but if you can't find it come back bc the next time you go it will be there. We've gone multiple times and have found so amazing finds. My living room looks amazing now! Thanks Sonia and Grace!”

“I just recently visited this store. If you are consigning, It's best to call first as they will give you an appointment and don't do consigning after 1:30 P.M., I think. I consigned 2 dresses, with cleaning receipts. The staff was very friendly and were excited to consign with me. The consignment expires after 3 months. I've consigned with them before, but that was before the pandemic.Baubles & Beads has a wonderful collection and I usually find something I like. I especially love their cocktail dresses. Their prices are very reasonable. I've been going there for the past 10 years.”

“Best mid century modern store in Austin. There's not even a close second. Kind of on the north side of town - but worth the drive. Nice selection of furniture, lamps, ceramics, tables, chairs - all the basics. Friendly owners that know about their inventory, are knowledgeable about the manufacturers and designers.”

“This place is cute and the service was friendly. They have some great toys and very cute clothes. The prices are good, the brands and clothing quality is exceptional. I’m sure they would never take any of the clothing items we have after we’re through with them.”

“This little antique store packs so much in it that you need to set aside a good chunk of time to really experience it all. It also is deceptively larger than it looks. I picked up one or two little gems and I'll definitely be coming back with friends in the future.”

“I could have spent hours looking around here! So many amazing vintage pieces. The staff were super sweet. Prices are very reasonable for the type of items in this store.”

“We could have spent all day in this small shop!! The owner and staff were super cool to talk to while we shopped. It was neat to see the various clothing from different times and try things on that we would wear today. There was a nice selection of jewelry and accessories as well. Everything was reasonably priced. I'd recommend coming here if you like unique things and want to find some cool pieces for your wardrobe.”

“Awesome shop! Not the place I expected to score the rest of a Star Wars VHS collection, but the person who owned them was there and we made a deal! Fantastic stuff in there. Very creative layout!”

“So fun looking at all the unique pieces here. I would definitely recommend this store over Uncommon Objects in terms of price. Far Out Home Fittings has really neat and unique objects for a fraction of the price of what you pay just down the street at Uncommon Objects. Great for vintage furniture, paintings, dishes, and home decor.”

“Such a lovely vintage shop with so many great finds. I snagged the great pair of palazzo pants that I'm gonna wear everywhere! Staff is friendly and helpful! As usual, it's hard to find sizes in vintage that are size inclusive. Hopefully they'll find some more pieces that are bigger in size.”

“Great family owned and operated business.Thanked me for their support. Humble and kind. Was in Austin for a country concert and needed a comfortable pair of cowboy boots. $1,200 new. $200 bucks. Nice store only carrying high quality boots. Across the street from three other thrift shops, but these guys handles boots much better.”

“It seems impossible to leave without a purchase! There's so many great fashion opportunities. Large selection particularly for womens clothing, much smaller men's selection.”

“FSG made the process of designing, printing, and shipping shirts fun and easy even with a very tight deadline. I initially reached out with no clue what I was doing. They connected me with a designer (Simone is wonderful) and took my needs and questions seriously even on an objectively silly project. Thanks to Simone, Sulli, and the team, I was able to provide a bachelorette keepsake that people are actually excited to wear again!”

“Uptown lives up to its name in the sense that they have a fairly large selection of nice resale clothing. They're fairly particular about what they stock, so expect nicer brands in good condition. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but they're significantly less than what you'd pay at the mall, for sure. It's tough to get a steal on resale clothing in Austin, and this place is really no exception, despite the name. On the flip side, when you're selling off some of your own items, be prepared to be offered a smaller amount than you'd expect. They need to be in great shape and desirable as well, so don't bother bringing in stuff you probably should have donated elsewhere. Store credit will get you more value, and the fact that they insist that you wait on site (at least in the shopping center) while they look over your items (count on at least an hour and a half) almost guarantees that you'll shop around and find something you want. They stock a wide variety of clothing and accessories for men and women, and I see both shopping there when I've been in store. If you enjoy a scavenger hunt for "new" clothes, head on over and check them out. Parking is available in the attached lot.”

“Service, selection and value!! Came to Austin from Los Angeles. Did a bunch of thrift shopping. Second Looks was recommended to me and this store did not disappoint. A curated collection at prices you wouldn't believe! And the owner Michael was amazing! He's extremely knowledgeable and runs a great business. Thank you Michael for all your help. I will return to you every visit to Austin. Oh and thanks for my awesome cowboy boots!”

“Austin has a buzzing vintage and thrift scene, and Guadalupe St between 29th and 30th is something of a Mecca. Of the cluster of shops here, Lo Fi is definitely my favorite. Why? Because rather than being a jumble of modern TJ Maxx leftovers and old lady's nightgowns; Lo-Fi's stuff is really curated. Each item is intentional and special in its own way. It's not dirt cheap but it's also not insanely expensive. I got an awesome 80s sweatshirt for $36 which I feel was a really fair price given the condition and unique Disney design. Jeans might set you back ~$50 but they're going to be in a retro cut and last (decades). There's parking out front and if you don't snag a spot there, there's a little car park behind Lo-Fi that always has spots free. Worth checking out!”

“I popped in to sell some old military uniforms I had been using for costumes. I was bummed to find out they don't buy from the public. But the good news is the person working the counter was extremely helpful in directing me to a few other places where they do. The store is clean, well laid out, and bright. You can browse through and see a ton of great vintage clothing. And it's a really trendy part of town, so of course there's a great coffee shop on one side and a vinyl records shop on the other. It's a seriously cool place to find everything you need to get some chic funky threads for a night out.”

“This is quite literally the BEST store to shop at when in the Austin area , they have everything down to tees, jackets, jeans , all curated by the very knowledgeable store owners. The atmosphere in the store is more than welcoming to everyone and the music taste shows how cultured they are. You will learn something new every time you go and pay them a visit ! Never Knew for the people !”

“Garment is my favorite shop on the planet.Their items are unrivalled in terms of quality, curation and uniqueness. Every single person in the boutique and on social media goes out of their way to make the client’s experience the best possible; they give personalized attention to each person based on purchase history and tastes and are, without a doubt, a place where anything you get is guaranteed to be amazing.Keep up the good work!Andrea”

“Prototype is the best vintage store in Austin. Perfectly curated. On the pricier side but I find it worth it considering you go and find exactly what you're looking for. I feel like I have to settle when I go thrifting at other vintage stores but I always find exactly what I need here. Workers are always so sweet and helpful and willing to start a dressing room right away. Plus it smells amazing! I'll always come back to Prototype when I'm visiting home.”

“Yes. Lots of books. BUT if your in need of a nice vase this place also has small, medium & large vase. I scored a really nice medium size one that was real crystal for $8! Or was it $6?! Oh. They also have kids toys & other small items. Cheers!”

“I've been to several Goodwill locations and will drive an extra 30-40 minutes out of my way to go to this one vs. the one near my house. This one is bigger and has more selection. While the prices have gone up, they are still reasonable. Some of the other Goodwill locations all around Austin are shocking and insulting, as they price things more than you can buy them new (i.e. a $19.99 used toaster, $6 plastic drawer silverware holder, or $3 used plastic spatula that you can buy at Walmart or HEB for $1). At least this location in Oakhill still remains reasonable with their pricing and has more employees that can cashier (when they're busy) or folks on the floor if you need help.”

“I wasn't very familiar with this store until I started consigning items earlier this year. The volunteers have always been helpful and kind during the consignment process, which is only certain days of the week and during certain hours. They occasionally take a week or 2 off from accepting consignments in order to give volunteers a break. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with which items are accepted and which ones are not. Most of the pertinent info is available on their website or social media. The scene in the consignment room can seem chaotic, but the many volunteers keep things flowing smoothly. Questions (when I've had them) have been answered by knowledgeable staff and the management team. I can't emphasize enough how kind and patient the volunteers have been during consignment or when purchasing from the shop. This place is run almost entirely by volunteers, which is rather phenomenal to me. It's always fun to take a stroll through the large showroom after dropping off consignment items.”

“I’m 69 and have been to this store twice. Both times, the staff were attentive, courteous, and helpful. I didn’t find what I was looking for either time. Both times I left with beautiful shirts for $8 each.”
