“I have been shopping at Ramadan Halal Market for about three years, and I have always been very happy with the quality. The products are consistently fresh and high quality, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
They also have a cozy restaurant inside where you can enjoy a meal, as well as a lovely bakery and café for coffee and desserts. It’s a great place for both grocery shopping and taking a pleasant break.

“I go here for GF stuff, and they have some good apple cider I like to buy especially from there. This is also the only place I could find pine nuts. Go here for specialty. Sprouts is same deal, but different stuff. If you're doing regular shopping go to HEB or somewhere else.”
“Some days the city tells you exactly where you need to be. Today was one of those days. It was a beautiful Houston afternoon, and I found myself on the west side of the city craving nothing more than a good cup of coffee, a quiet place to read, write, and work through a few marketing emails. Somehow that journey led me to the coffee bar inside Central Market, and I’m so glad it did.
There is something special about this place. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the rhythm of Houston. Families shopping together, neighbors catching up, people grabbing lunch, and everyone moving with purpose. Sitting at the coffee bar allowed me to experience all of it while still finding a peaceful corner to settle into my work. It was the perfect balance between community and solitude.
I have to give a heartfelt shout out to the incredible baristas who made my visit unforgettable. Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin welcomed me with genuine smiles and the kind of hospitality that cannot be taught. They made me feel less like a customer and more like a familiar face. Their energy was warm, joyful, and authentic, and you could tell they genuinely enjoy serving people.
I ordered a double shot espresso made with KATZ Coffee, one of Houston’s finest coffee roasters, and it was exactly what I needed. Rich, smooth, and full of flavor. While I enjoyed my coffee, I had the pleasure of watching the team prepare drinks for everyone who came through the line. From handcrafted coffees to fresh smoothies, every order was made with care, precision, and a smile. It was a beautiful reminder that excellence often lives in the smallest everyday moments.
To Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin, thank you for filling my cup today, literally and figuratively. I hope this review pours a little encouragement back into yours.
And to my fellow Houstonians and anyone visiting our beautiful city, do yourself a favor and stop by the Central Market coffee bar. Come for the coffee, stay for the people, and leave reminded that great hospitality is still alive and well in Houston.

This place has very good schwarma and their cheesecake is out of this world. Reasonable prices and cheaper and better than Cheescake factory. But the true shot out goes to the ladies who carve and serve the schwarma. They are very patient and reassuring. They are very informative and generous. I would strongly prompt anyone to give this place a try while in downtown Houston for the summer.”

“Visited Trader Joe's while in Upper Kirby. The atmosphere was typical Trader Joe's -- lively and well stocked, and the staff were friendly as you'd expect.
That said, as much as I enjoy TJ's, this location could use a few improvements. The checkout setup is one of the worst I've seen -- the single-line queue just doesn't seem to work well here and tends to back up. C'mon, this is Texas, everything is supposed to be bigger... the checkout area included. Another thing I've noticed is that the store always seems freezing inside, which makes browsing a bit less comfortable than it should be.
Overall, still a good Trader Joe's for the products we all love, but the layout and comfort could definitely be better. Saluti.”

“The store is convenient for my weekly grocery selection's. Before I discovered this store, I would shop at weekend only Urban markets or drive to meat and egg vendor’s outside of Houston. Central City Co-Op has a great selection of those vendors and more!!! The store offers a good selection of wines.

“Ever since they started opening up Joe V's I love to go here very good prices on everything the fruit and vegetable section is off the chain everything is always right and fresh I've never gotten any un tasty fruits and vegetables from there very large meat selection they even have a fresh bread bakery you can get those delicious rolls only $8 for $1 and I think the bananas are 2 lbs for a dollar either way you're always get a great deal anchovies so I'd recommend anyone to go there whether you're on a budget or trying to feed a large family through these is a spot to go”

“Joe V's is a decent discount grocery store. They have some name brand products but mostly off brand. I short it a star because there are always so many people in the store. It makes the shopping experience less enjoyable and can be overwhelming.”

“I ventured into the grand kingdom of HEB with a single mission etched into my soul: retrieve the butter and leave before temptation claimed me. But the gods of grocery stores had other plans. No sooner had I crossed the threshold than I was ambushed by the scent of warm, fresh-made tortillas — soft, buttery, practically whispering my name like sirens calling sailors to their doom. I pressed on, only to stumble into the bakery section where the fresh bread radiated a golden glow straight out of a fantasy epic. Loaves so divine they could turn even the strongest-willed shopper into a carb-devouring beast. I may have shed a single tear.
Yet despite the distractions, the detours, and the spiritual struggle, I remained steadfast. My quest led me through winding aisles of abundance — a selection so vast it felt like wandering a labyrinth designed by grocery-loving demigods. But then, at long last, shining like treasure in a dragon’s hoard, I spotted it: the Irish butter. Rich, creamy, glorious, and gloriously mine. I seized it triumphantly, knowing that though many temptations had crossed my path, my mission was complete. And yes… I may have grabbed a bag of tortillas on the way out. Don't judge me. But all in all, no store does more than my HEB.. although I would say maybe some Brand merch would be nice. I think a lot of people would totally wear an HEB t-shirt”
