Jumping Jack Dog Ranch
13731 Carpenter Ln, ManchacaWe did a pool rental with our two dogs.. The space was wonderful.. The pool area was much larger than I expected with some shaded areas, a picnic table and a bench swing hanging from a tree. Our dogs had a great time. One of them can be a little reactive towards new dogs so we're cautious about letting her off leash on any trails.. It was so great to be able to take her somewhere she could run, get in the water, be safe and I could relax.. 10/10, will be back.

Rose's Kitchen
12113 Twin Creek Rd, ManchacaWe had the pad Thai, green chicken curry, GIANT crab rangoons & brisket spring rolls. We got two levels up from no spice (Thai little spicy)
The spice on the chicken curry was too hot so be careful! But the pad Thai was perfect.
The peanut sauce and fresh ingredients throughout all the dishes were delicious. Will definitely be back!

Simpson's BBQ LLC
2301 Bliss Spillar Rd, ManchacaI stumbled upon the Simpson's BBQ food truck in the Walmart (9500 S IH 35 location) parking lot. Walmart was celebrating the completion of the store's remodeling and had vendors providing free products. Simpson's BBQ was one of those vendors, and the best in my opinion! They were offering free brisket tacos, so I got in line immediately. There was a longish line, but it moved quickly due to the server's speed. When I got to the truck window, he handed out the brisket taco wrapped in foil and offered a drink. I chose a Diet Coke. It was chilled...a refreshing drink after standing outside in the sun. The brisket was moist and had no BBQ sauce..:the way I like it! I'm a purist when it comes to brisket. The parking lot had no ambiance to speak of; it was hot out there but worth the short wait.

Texas Keeper Cider
12521 Twin Creek Rd, ManchacaStop reading reviews and just go. The vibe here is something you would have found in Austin 15 years ago that sadly just doesn't exist anymore. Except it does... at Texas Keeper. The cidery is tucked away in beautiful oak trees, the owners and staff grow their own herbs and various other plants (lots of native species!) Lindsey and Jill are two of the most genuine and kind people you will ever have the pleasure of knowing. Jill can get lost in literally any type of conversation and Lindsey is incredibly down to earth. These aren't your average drink slingers, they truly care about their craft and product. The owners are REAL PEOPLE who aren't in it for the money. They're in it to create a hidden sanctuary where one can appreciate and enjoy wonderfully crafted ciders and delicately curated small plates. They have lots of austin brands on their menu like Rebel cheese too! The cider is seriously unlike any other American made cider. It drinks more European, which is great for those who aren't into overly sweet ciders. Even though their options are on the drier side, they manage to have something for everyone. So much love and thought has been put into this place and you really feel it when you walk in.

Oui's Thai
11300 Old San Antonio Rd, ManchacaI went here a few months ago and got their pad Thai I think. It was DELICIOUS and very spicy which is what I like and what I asked for. I did end up having to get a bottle of water though and the owner gave me a sympathetic look and just gave it to me lmao so sweet of her. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Beaux Southern Seafood
2051 Farm to Market 1626, ManchacaGot a chance to try Beaux Southern Seafood and it was a delicious trip down South. The fried catfish plate came out golden and flaky, and their jumbo shrimp po’boy with remoulade sauce was perfectly balanced. Also dug into their shrimp & grits — creamy, comforting, and full of flavor.
The setting is cozy and unpretentious, which works well for this style of food. Staff were welcoming and quick to answer menu questions (especially about spice levels and daily catches). A great spot for southern seafood done right.
