Jumping Jack Dog Ranch
13731 Carpenter Lane, ManchacaMy dog loves this place. He gets so excited for his daycare days he's squeaking for 10 minutes in the car rides there. They are very deliberate in how the organize play groups, and it's clear every employee is happy and treated well (which means the dogs are happier for it too, of course).
You get a cute report card of the friends your dog played with that day, and they explain in detail who they played with, how they played, maybe they got into a little mischief that day, or maybe they had the best day.
With my past dog I bounced around places because he was occasionally reactive and not every dog meshed with him well. So I was limited in places to go. But my little Ranger is so friendly I can probably go to any doggie daycare, but I'm choosing Jumping Jack because it's amazing.
The pool is also an AMAZING place for hosting your doggie birthday party. I know I'm having all of ranger's birthday parties there moving forward lol

Simpson's BBQ LLC
2301 Bliss Spillar Rd, ManchacaI stumbled upon the Simpson's BBQ food truck in the Walmart (9500 S IH 35 location) parking lot. Walmart was celebrating the completion of the store's remodeling and had vendors providing free products. Simpson's BBQ was one of those vendors, and the best in my opinion! They were offering free brisket tacos, so I got in line immediately. There was a longish line, but it moved quickly due to the server's speed. When I got to the truck window, he handed out the brisket taco wrapped in foil and offered a drink. I chose a Diet Coke. It was chilled...a refreshing drink after standing outside in the sun. The brisket was moist and had no BBQ sauce..:the way I like it! I'm a purist when it comes to brisket. The parking lot had no ambiance to speak of; it was hot out there but worth the short wait.

Beaux Southern Seafood
11300 Old San Antonio Rd, ManchacaTried Beaux Southern Seafood for the first time today. I ordered the Basket with oysters and crab cakes. It came with 2 huge fluffy hush puppies, crispy fries and a fresh version of coleslaw. It was delicious and it was more than enough to feed 2 people.
