“Some days the city tells you exactly where you need to be. Today was one of those days. It was a beautiful Houston afternoon, and I found myself on the west side of the city craving nothing more than a good cup of coffee, a quiet place to read, write, and work through a few marketing emails. Somehow that journey led me to the coffee bar inside Central Market, and I’m so glad it did.
There is something special about this place. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the rhythm of Houston. Families shopping together, neighbors catching up, people grabbing lunch, and everyone moving with purpose. Sitting at the coffee bar allowed me to experience all of it while still finding a peaceful corner to settle into my work. It was the perfect balance between community and solitude.
I have to give a heartfelt shout out to the incredible baristas who made my visit unforgettable. Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin welcomed me with genuine smiles and the kind of hospitality that cannot be taught. They made me feel less like a customer and more like a familiar face. Their energy was warm, joyful, and authentic, and you could tell they genuinely enjoy serving people.
I ordered a double shot espresso made with KATZ Coffee, one of Houston’s finest coffee roasters, and it was exactly what I needed. Rich, smooth, and full of flavor. While I enjoyed my coffee, I had the pleasure of watching the team prepare drinks for everyone who came through the line. From handcrafted coffees to fresh smoothies, every order was made with care, precision, and a smile. It was a beautiful reminder that excellence often lives in the smallest everyday moments.
To Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin, thank you for filling my cup today, literally and figuratively. I hope this review pours a little encouragement back into yours.
And to my fellow Houstonians and anyone visiting our beautiful city, do yourself a favor and stop by the Central Market coffee bar. Come for the coffee, stay for the people, and leave reminded that great hospitality is still alive and well in Houston.

“The Trader Joe's on Westheimer is hands down my favorite location. It's a bit of a drive from home, but it's absolutely worth it because their inventory is so much better than the stores near my work.
Whether I'm stopping by for their popular seasonal tote bags or stocking up on the ultra rich body wash oil dupe, they almost always have plenty in stock. The store is well-organized, well-stocked, and shopping here is always a better experience. If you're looking for the best selection, this location is definitely worth the extra drive.”

“Huge shout out to this HEB pharmacy. It’s really exceptional. Staff is always helpful and kind. Transferred my Rx’s over about a year ago from a big name pharmacy and couldn’t be happier. Prescriptions are ready on time or earlier, good communication between update calls and HEB app, and staff is alway professional.”
“I really like this location. They had great selection different cuts of meat and seafood for a grill feast at home. I found some cuts that I couldn’t find anywhere else. This location carry a lot of cuts that other H mart locations don’t have. And the BBQ inside the market is awesome too.”

“Joe V's is a decent discount grocery store. They have some name brand products but mostly off brand. I short it a star because there are always so many people in the store. It makes the shopping experience less enjoyable and can be overwhelming.”

“I really like the experience of shopping here. It's convenient, you can park in the garage and take the elevator one level up and you're inside of the store. The store feels lifeless in a way though, like despite the exterior character it just has the same identical items as any other Whole Foods. Appreciate the convenience, but wish there were more variety and things of interest. I suspect it was more unique prior to the Amazon buy-out.”

“During the 2yrs of covid pandemic, my boss asked me to get groceries for needed families, he recognized the struggles of families around us, Mr. Jim Godwin generously allocated funds each month to purchase groceries for ten families, most of whom were laid off or facing severe financial difficulties. His kindness did not go unnoticed—many elderly individuals, who were especially vulnerable during this time, also benefited from his compassionate efforts.
Through this initiative, we were able to distribute essential food items such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, and pantry staples. Each month, they would come to my garage and pickup the bags of essential foods purchased at Aldi's, the support provided by Mr. Jim not only relieved immediate hunger but fostered a sense of connection within the community. Recipients expressed deep gratitude, and it was heartwarming to see how these small acts of kindness provided hope and comfort in difficult circumstances. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a good Samaritan to others.”
